How songs Can make or mar you. Your ears are wonderful organs given by God for listening and also for balance. What you listen to can affect you. Songs, words, instrumentals, poetry, and so on all have the power of touching you.
When you hear a great Christian song, you either pause to soak it in or sing along just because you can identify with the words. So, also when you listen to songs that don’t glorify God or cause you to feel or do what you are not supposed to do.
Songs that use vulgar or harmful words aren’t good for you. They are songs that glorify evil and immorality. Listening to songs like that only teaches you bad words and how to use them. Over time you become well versed in them till they become part of you.
Apart from songs, people can also use bad and foul words around you. Are your friends or mates at school using vulgar words around you? Speak to them about using such words, and if they don’t listen, stay away from them, because they will only teach you to be like them.
Listening to Godly and inspiring songs helps to lift your spirit and connects you with the Holy Spirit which leads you into worship, praise, petition, exaltation, revelation, and more.
Also, people can pass influence with their words either to do good or bad. Watch out for the elderly people around you. What are they saying? Are they speaking hateful words to others? Words that inspire you to hate others? Do not listen to such words for they are ungodly.
Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.
Prov. 2:2 NLT
Listen to wisdom (good, life-giving, helpful, loving, et cetera words) so that you will concentrate on who God has made you to be, should be, and can be. In other words, listening to wisdom will help stay holy before God.

Oil For Today – Day 107
By the mercies of God, my sun will no more go down. My moon shall not withdraw itself. The Lord Almighty shall be a light unto me. The word of God illuminates my path. I will not stumble. I will not miss the mark. I will not grope in darkness. I receive light into my spirit man. I am not confused. The light of God teaches me what to do per time. In the name of Jesus, I rejoice henceforth. No more mourning. In my relationship/marriage, I experience joy and nothing more in Jesus’ name. Amen.
One way you can achieve this is by rejecting the victim mentality in your relationship.
There are people who live with a victim mentality. It is not a good place to be. It is a negative mentality, an unfortunate place to be.
The guy with the victim mentality goes into a relationship expecting it to break up. The lady with victim mentality expects to be heartbroken, expects to be disappointed, and expects to be jilted.
Somehow, that person is addicted to pain. Until he or she is treated in some bad way, he or she is bored. It is a contradiction. He or she prays against pain but then looks forward to it through actions and in-actions. Such a person enjoys the depression and despondency that comes after being hurt.
So the person indirectly positions himself or herself to be hurt. Even when the hurt is not forthcoming, he ensures something happens that will create the scenario.
It is a victim mentality, a time-waster, a destiny twister.
And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
Num 13:33 (KJV)
How did these people know that they were like grasshoppers in other people’s eyes? It was their belief system.
When you go into a relationship with this mentality, the break up is guaranteed.
This mentality and feeling must be rejected.
Don’t go into a relationship believing that you will be abused. Don’t go into a relationship believing that you will be jilted. Don’t go into a relationship believing that you will be cheated and conned.
Don’t go into a relationship believing that you will be dumped and discarded. Don’t go into a relationship when you don’t even love yourself.
Believe the best of God. Love believes the best. Give yourself some hope, stay positive and constantly declare God’s word over your life.

The second thing that must be present in every marriage that will succeed has to do with communication.
2. Constant Communication A man was once asked what the three most important things in a marriage are.
His response:
1. Communication 2. Communication 3. Communication
Do I agree? Yes, I fully do!
When communication dies, assumptions, suspicions, lies and deception will take over. There is nothing as beautiful as a marriage where both parties can fully express themselves.
Hear each other out!
When a man talks, his goal may be a logical explanation, but when a woman talks, it is more than an explanation, it is a release; an emotional release. So every time she is muted, there are pent-up tensions being stored up for a later time.

It is akin to the molten magma within, nothing shows on the surface much, but one day, the magma can no longer hold still, there will be a volcanic eruption causing untold havocs!
Unexplained hurts, unexpressed bitterness, are all like the molten magma in the belly of the ground.
So, when you tell your spouse to “shut up” continually, and it looks as though you are in charge and winning, well, you are not really in winning, you are actually losing!
Allow free expression in your matrimonial home.
3. Renewal and Recharge Junctions In marriage, you must learn to take breaks from work and relax. You have to have time that you spend together as husband and wife.
You need to go back to what used to excite you before wedding and do those things again and again.
Apart from reading your Bible and praying in the Holy Ghost which re-fires you and recharges your spirit, you should also learn to be relaxed once in a while.
4. Mentoring Every marriage must have a mentor that you defer to and seek wisdom from.
There is something that a couple who has been married for thirty years know that a three-year-old couple is oblivious of.
It is plain wisdom to seek counsel. Most issues that lead to serious strife and possible separation and divorce could easily have been resolved by seeking knowledge.
That is why I am a little scared of couples who talk to nobody! Something is not quite right with that. Part of having a marriage mentor is being humble.
5. Sincerity and Openness Finally, this is so crucial to the survival of any marriage!
Be open! Marriage is not a secret cult! Talk about everything and anything.
Hiding things and allowing your spouse to discover will only lead to mistrust and suspicion.
The rule of the game is to talk about everything. That will go a long way to establish trust.
If you keep talking exactly how it is, it would be difficult to go into adultery, because adultery is perpetuated in the platform insincerity and deception

1. Dating is an appointment between two people (not in a hotel or some guest house)
2. Dating is a meeting to conduct a long-range interview with the purpose of knowing a person.
3. The purpose of dating is to eliminate all surprises eventually if a romantic relationship ensues.
4. Dating seeks to know the person, not the body.
5. Dating is a discovery of who the person is, not what is under the clothes.
6. Once jeru trip is involved, the mind enters into confusion and you can no longer trust your judgment.
7. Dating seeks all information as regards the person in consideration, medical, spiritual, and all.
8. Dating helps you not to fall in love blindly.
9. Dating is perfectly okay for a child of God. However, meeting in his place or at some ungodly hour is not dating! When you are in a guy’s territory, anything can happen.

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Talk to God every step of the way
There are a lot of things that must be put in place for a marriage to succeed. There are conscious and deliberate inputs that must be in place so that marriage can bring bliss and not blisters.
Here are some of those things.
1. Prayers A family that prays together stays together. A husband and wife that pray together will overcome the flesh easily. Prayer protects, shields and connects you to your inheritance in God.
As husband and wife, pray for one another rather than tear one another apart. Intercede for each other. What the devil wants is a tearing apart, do not cooperate with him. Wake up in the middle of the night and pray together. The power of agreement is better harnessed as a couple.

In the first few years of our marriage, my wife and I would wake up by 12.00am and pray in the Spirit. I am persuaded that those prayers advanced our lives and ministries.
There is a purpose for coming together in marriage. It is not just for making love and then dying at the age of ninety. There is a purpose in the heart of God. That purpose is not to be decided, it is to be discovered. When you discover that purpose, you just stepped into your wealthy place. You can only discover in the place of prayers.
The devil will do all he knows to do to make sure you don’t pray.

Forgiveness is a necessity in this life. Do you want to know how to advance in life? Then learn how to forgive. Let’s look at the story of Bayo.
Bayo didn’t like how his brothers treated him. They always teased him about his love for reading and studying. They called him names like “effico”, “bookworm” and more. He wished he could just tell them what was on his mind. They weren’t that perfect too. He knew their flaws too and what they did in secret.
At church, he learnt about forgiveness. The Sunday school teacher used the story of Joseph to explain how to forgive.
That was going to be hard for Bayo. So, he approached the teacher and told him about what he was facing at home. The teacher explained the reason why he had to forgive his brothers just like Joseph did.
By the time they were through, Bayo learnt why he had to forgive and how to do so. It was a relief to him. He wasn’t going to continue in unforgiveness towards his brothers.
When you speak to other believers about an issue, you get more knowledge. They help you to understand what you are feeling, why it is wrong or right, and what to do about it. When the believer is older than you, you get to hear about their or other people’s experiences on issues like yours.
So, find a believer like yourself and share your fears or issues with them. This is how to advance.

In the name of Jesus, I am kept from evil. The hand of the Lord keeps me safe. God hides me in the cleft of the rock. No evil shall befall me and my family. No plague shall come near our dwelling place. Henceforth, no one will cause me trouble, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord. God surrounds me. The Lord shields me. My relationship/marriage is protected. I receive grace to overcome all temptations on my way to greatness in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Dressing matters a lot. Somebody said the way you dress is the way you will be addressed. Take a look at the below video and then we will get into this:
This video says it all. In no way should people come to church and then be distracted. Distractions are understandable out there, but certainly not in church!
People really want to come to church and be able to focus. You see, we need to understand this especially the ladies.
You see ladies don’t understand that men are moved by sight. The hanging cleavage, the rolling eyes, the flashing laps, the batting eyelids, the chewing of gum and smirking of lips, the seductive dance and gyrating.. all of these and more are killing for an average man.
Some people will say that dressing does not really matter, but the scriptures says otherwise.
Joseph had to change his raiment when he was summoned to the palace from the prison.
Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.
Gen 41:14 (KJV)
Joseph needed to change his clothes for his new address.
What would make a man cheat on his wife? What on earth could that be? It is simply a bad heart, one devoid of conscience.
What would make a wife cheat on her husband? It is the same thing. A bad heart, and additionally, deliberate seductive attires.
Let’s take a look at the scriptures:
And behold, there met him a woman, dressed as a harlot and sly and cunning of heart.
Pro 7:10 (AMPC)
So the scriptures talk about a dressing and state of heart. These two will show there is a major problem in the offing.
Let’s take a look at other translations.
A woman with an ulterior motive meets him. She is dressed as a prostitute.

Notice the two things here; an ulterior motive, and a certain type of dressing.
It goes to show that the heart is very important in an adulterous equation. Once the heart is wrong and it is complemented with seductive dressing, the picture fits who the scripture describes as a harlot.

This is because, from the scriptures, the dressing of a harlot goes with a wrong heart that will cheat.
Do you catch yourself always wanting to wear something skimpy, something revealing your flesh, showing cleavages, then you really need to watch it as a married woman.
It is the same with men. Are you always wearing show me your muscle shirts, interested in showing off your body and more?
These are indicative of what is in the heart and not just a coincidence.
I pray that God will give us more understanding even as we deliberately work on what we allow ourselves to feed and meditate on.

God is a speaking God. Therefore you need to learn how to hear God when He speaks; this is simply because His words give you direction.
See what he says about the way he speaks
1 Tim 4:1a [KJV] Now the Spirit speaketh expressly…
God speaks to everyone including children. Remember the story of little Samuel in the bible, who later became a strong prophet that ministered to the Israelites and anointed kings? God speaks, and you should learn how to hear God when He speaks.
Our heavenly father wants to speak to us and He does so in different ways. One of such way is through His word- the bible. The bible is the only place where all of God’s words reside.
Reading the bible is one of the ways you can hear from God. When you read about what God did, how He did it, and who He did it for, you get to know more about God.
Maybe you are facing a situation and don’t know how to go about it, read the bible. God will speak to you through a verse or chapter. He will direct you to a book where someone just like you, faced the same dilemma you are in.
When you read through, you will learn how the person resolved it with God’s help.
Heb 4:12 [AMP]For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the sbreath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.
The bible says His words are living. They are alive, quick, and sharp. Always speaking. See it as God speaking directly to you.

I receive the blessing of the Lord today. I declare the works of my hands blessed. I will not fall for the antics of the devil. I will not shortchange myself. The Lord surrounds me with favour. My business, finance, family, everything around me speaks favour. By the favour of God, I am preferred. Thank you Jesus because your oil of favour rests upon me, in Jesus name, Amen.
You have to be excited about your life, yes, your own life. You have been excited about other people’s lives, their achievements, their talents, their beauty, their intelligence and so on. It’s time you begin to get excited at God’s wonder called YOU.
Look into the mirror, and celebrate the lady or guy you see at the other side. Most times, we pretend to be too busy not to give a few second’s glance to appreciate ourselves.
Behind that busyness is an avoidance to notice how special and unique you are.
Life is in phases and the last minute that just went by now can never be re -lived again. It is gone forever. Whatever phase you are in, it is worth celebrating. Learn to capture moments, pause and celebrate the major character called you.
You are the major character that the whole of heavens is intently looking at. Your best days are not behind you, your best moment is here and here now. Tomorrow is a promissory note, but today is a gift.
Celebrate yourself because you made it through the night season and you are here now. Even if you are not sure how tomorrow will look like, you don’t have to forfeit the today you can see now.
I will confess and praise You for You are fearful and wonderful and for the awful wonder of my birth! Wonderful are Your works, and that my inner self knows right well.

Get excited about yourself and build a positive self-esteem and a positive atmosphere around you. Others will perceive this and it will make you attractive to them. When you get excited about your life, you are not living at the mercy of others. What people say or think about you does not really matter.
Some people are approval addicts. They go about seeking people’s approval. People that look forward to other people’s approval are never excited. They are too busy, pre-occupied with who is appreciating them. They are always looking for company.
Learn to be your best company. Some people can’t dance all by themselves in their own company. Some can’t laugh or give a little dance step all by themselves.
Ask yourself, can you recognize yourself if you were in another body? Some people don’t know half about the person under their skin.
You are great and unique. You are beautiful. You are talented. You are smart. You can make the right choices. You are intelligent. You are wise.
One of the reasons celebrating yourself is also good is that it keeps you in check. You cannot be smoking, drinking, gambling, having multiple sexual partners and be celebrating yourself at the same time. They don’t go together. When you get excited about your life, it helps you make better choices and vice versa.
Five ways to get excited about your life.
1. Be a grateful person A thankful heart is an excited heart.
2. Be real. Don’t live a fake life Seek help where necessary. Don’t fool yourself covering up or hiding some habitual sins. A double life cannot be an excited life. Seek counsel.
3. Be ready to learn every day Learn how to live life. There is a better way you don’t know. Learning makes life better.Learn more to have and be able to make better choices.
4. Be excited about knowing God Until you are excited about God and excited about knowing Him, you cannot be excited about your life. God is the author of your life, a discovery of Him is a discovery of your life.
5. Be ready to make better choices daily Your choices will make you. Right from the choice of thoughts you permit in your mind, to your words, your actions, your habits and of cause, your character. You can only be excited about your life when you have handled well all these other choices.
Never beat yourself down even when you fall or make a mistake. Be ready to go over the process again and you will see yourself getting excited about your life once again.

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Pray about God’s plan for your life
Not all homes are Christian homes. They may be born again, tongue-talking, and even bible reading believers. To have a Christian home depicts Christ as the head of the home, being at the center of it all, where He is the head of all decisions.
What does it mean to be the head? It is not just a positional title, it is a functional post.
The head talks about leadership. All other parts look up to it for their roles or actions to take. The head is the seat of power, of sight, thinking, hearing, smelling, mastication, of decision making, and of processing all thoughts for action.

If Jesus is truly the head of your home, then follow these commandments
1. Thou shall not make any decisions outside of his help concerning any issue in the family without consulting him.
2. Thou shall follow the order in the home hierarchy. That is Christ, the husband, the wife, and the children. At no time should you have to usurp authority.
3. Each member of the family should focus on doing their own part of the deal.
4. Everyone, including the father, shall honor Jesus Christ as the head of the family,
5. All unforgiving spirit, malice, strife, selfishness, unruly behavior, should be completely eradicated from the home.
6. Children are to be completely obedient and well-behaved to their parents.
7. Parents are to be well-understanding to their children.
8. Wives should submit to their own husbands as their head and do what they approve.
