The Tale of The Spider In The Palace

The Tale of The Spider In The Palace

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Spider in the palace? That is sacrilegious! How did it get there? Who granted it entrance? Where are the palace guards? How dare such a creature be allowed into the most secured and guarded place?

It can’t just be. Maybe you did not see well. Or maybe you are hungry and you are taken by mirage or simply hallucinating. It can’t be! Spider sha? No way!

If you are even talking of a lion in all its, strength we can understand. If you say it’s an elephant, oh that is understandable, for who will dare stop the humongous beast from trampling on where it wants?

But a spider! Ordinary spider! Something I can crush with my leg. Spider ko, spider man ni!

But wow, there it is. The spider is actually in the palace!

How did it enter!

The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.

Pro 30:28 (KJV)

It’s by her hands! It’s by its skill. It’s by what it can do!

An entrance was granted to the spider by reason of the skill it brings to the table.

As singles, I want to encourage you this morning, identify a skill that is inherent and develop it. Maximize it. Don’t be laid back in life for life has no place for such people.

By the time you are thinking about marriage, you should have a definite stream of income! Nobody wants to marry a liability. That is a simple truth!

Go learn something! How to sew, bake, and such things as additional things you can do. There is money there!

And if you are particularly career-driven, then study more courses that will enhance your area of dexterity!

I pray God will give more understanding today in Jesus name

Have a blessed day!

The Spider Which Entered Into Greatness

The Spider Which Entered Into Greatness

Reading Time: 2 minutes

It’s a lie! A Spider cannot be in the palace. How can you even conceive that? Merely saying it is so disrespectful to royalty. Who granted it entrance? Do you mean it went through the palace guards? How dare such a creature be allowed into the most secured and guarded place?

It can’t just be. Maybe you did not see well, or maybe you are hungry and you are taken by mirage or simply hallucinating. It can’t be! Spider sha? No way!

As married couples, you must take hold with your hands and bring something concrete to the table.

Husbands who don’t work or are lazy eventually become docile and end up abdicating their responsibility and alongside their leadership of the home.

Wives who don’t work or are lazy end up becoming liabilities, resorting to being busybodies and gossips. As they say, an idle mind is devil’s workshop.

Don’t get me wrong! There are times you can’t help it and you are simply sacked or just couldn’t get a good job in time.

At such times, you are to stay with your spouse and pray through those times because you know that your spouse is not lazy.

What I am saying is that you can be out of jobs for whatever reason, but never be out of work!

Create work for yourself, and be skillful in the discharge of your gifts. You will eventually find yourself in the palace and in a great place, by taking hold with your hands!

I pray God grants you more understanding.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I am not a lazy man/woman.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Benefits Of Forgiveness

Benefits Of Forgiveness

Reading Time: 2 minutes

There are benefits of forgiveness. Forgiveness is important in serving God. A key instrument in entering and staying in God’s presence is by letting go of offences.

No wonder Jesus mentioned in the Lord’s prayer that “…forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.”

We can’t come before God with any sin in our lives. The lack of forgiving others when they hurt us is a sin.

You might wonder how does this keep my body holy before God? The bible says that the heart of man is full of wickedness.

When you harbor resentment towards another person and refuse to forgive them, you can’t come before God.

Jesus said to ask for forgiveness not because of the other person, but so that God can answer your prayers. In other words, it’s about you, not the other person.

“But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins too.

Mark 11:25 NLT

It was also emphasized here:

If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

Matt. 6:14-15 NLT.

When you fail to forgive, you hurt yourself and cut short God’s blessing upon your life.

These are some of the benefits of forgiveness. May God help is all to to forgive all who have hurt us in time past. Amen.

Prayer:
My Father in heaven, forgive me my trespasses and help me to forgive everyone I need to forgive. I want to be holy to you. Amen.

Action point:
Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to show you who you need to forgive and do so fast

Declaration:
I forgive all who have wronged me.

How To Apply Common Sense In Your Relationship

How To Apply Common Sense In Your Relationship

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Sense is described by Word Web dictionary as “The faculty through which the external world is apprehended”

As Buddy entered his friend’s house, you could tell he was excited. He was grinning from ear to ear he could almost eat Banana from the side of his mouth.

Woah! I have finally found my wife. I am so much in love with her. I asked her out and she said Yes.’

Daniel was happy for him.

‘When did you meet her?’
‘Two hours ago.’

‘What is her name?’
‘Lovett, I don’t know her surname.’

‘And you already asked her out?’
‘Yes.’

‘And she said yes?’
‘Of course now, what is the meaning of all these questions?’

‘Where is she from?’
‘I don’t know. She must be from heaven.’

‘What does she do?’
‘I don’t know, but she has hot legs!’

One other question that every single will be confronted with is the question of common sense.

You see, you are not supposed to fall in love with strangers. True love emanates from the knowledge of the characters involved. You hardly know somebody you just met some thirty minutes ago. True love should spring up from friendship.

God gave you a brain so that you will not disturb him on some issues that you can already find their answers in God’s Word.

‘I am so happy for you Comfort. Is he born again?
‘l don’t know but he goes to church.’

You don’t need somebody that you can’t even vouch for concerning Salvation. You need somebody that loves God!

‘He does not drink alcohol, he only takes Stout.’
‘He does not do weed, just normal cigarettes. I will convert him after marriage.’

You see, you are not the Holy Spirit. Watch the person you fall in love with. Use your gumption. Spirituality does not mean stupidity or thoughtlessness. The scripture says that discretion will preserve you!

‘I have aborted for him three times, but I cannot leave him. I love him.’ But when he finally ruins your chances of giving birth, he will leave you! Wake up! The reason you cannot leave him or her is not because of love but because of low self-esteem and soul ties, wrong bonding that comes as a result of violating God’s principles as regards jeru trip.

‘I know I am number three on his list.’ So what are you still doing, playing a second fiddle, opening your legs to a man that you know can drop you anytime? You see, hear me, and quote me anywhere, you cannot use jeru trip to buy love. Jeru trip does not guarantee marriage. In fact, it reduces its chances.

Whoever told you that you are ugly? It is money you need! When God blesses you, you will know how beautiful you are! Guys never have problems with appearance, it is always ladies. Haven’t you seen guys with their legs like Hockey sticks, and yet wearing three-quarters short? They don’t care! And they will come and ask you out like that, and you are like, What?

You are not ugly! Beauty is in the beholder’s eyes. You are fearfully and wonderfully created, so says the scriptures. You will be wonderful to some people, and fearful to others, so never mind if someone calls you ‘ugly’ When you meet your spouse, you will be wonderful! So, believe in God and believe in yourself!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I will apply discretion in every area of my relationship as God helps me

PRAYERS FOR THE DAY
Lord, I ask that you give me wisdom and understanding in my relationship in Jesus name.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Proverbs 11:29 [MSG] Exploit or abuse your family, and end up with a fistful of air; common sense tells you it’s a stupid way to live.

The Importance Of Family Altar In Marriage

The Importance Of Family Altar In Marriage

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The family altar is where the family consisting of the father, mother, children, and any other person living in the home come together and all look up together to God as their rock of Defence against all the odds in marriage and life.

It is a place of unity, where God is invited to unite the family together. The prayer altar is meant to be a place of sincerity and honesty. Each member of the family should be taught not to approach God’s presence like a superhero but to be vulnerable in His presence.

Each member of the family must be taught to participate enthusiastically in worship, praise, prayer,  confessions, reading the Bible and discussions, since these are the activities done during the family altar.

Now there are many scenarios in different homes and marriages that can debar a proper daily family altar. We have couples who have never had family altar as their family routine before and just want to start.

We have a family where the husband doesn’t like the idea or doesn’t give it much priority or attention.

We have a family where the husband is always busy thus the wife is left to organize the family devotion.

We have a family where it is a headache to get the children to participate.

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

In other families, the issue of timing is their case. Others yet, it is a disagreement between the couples that forms a hindrance to their family altar.

Whichever group we fall into, we should know that our family devotion is very, very important. The importance of the family altar may not be obvious at the present but it will eventually show.

I grew up with my dad leading the family altar in the morning and evening and we can see the benefits 30 years after in the lives of all of the children. Begin to make efforts to start your family altar now if you have not and you can strengthen your family altar if you already have a family altar.

Let your children be more participative. Let it suit their ages, as you put them into consideration. Let the time of the devotion not be too long to help their concentration.

Let God help you to find what suits the whole family. Work out something that everybody will be comfortable with.

God bless your marriage

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I receive the grace to take my family altar more seriously.

PRAYERS FOR THE DAY
Ask for wisdom and understanding for your marriage

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Prov 11:29 (GW) Whoever brings trouble upon his family inherits only wind, and that stubborn fool becomes a slave to the wise in heart.

Enforcing Your Healing In God

Enforcing Your Healing In God

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Enforcing your healing. Have you ever come across these words in the bible? Or heard someone say them? What comes to your mind when you hear them say it?

The prophet Isaiah was speaking about the coming of a Messiah who would come to save the whole world from the consequences of sin and lead everyone to heaven. He said the things that would happen to this messiah. Read below.

But he was wounded for the wrong things we did. He was crushed for the evil  things we did. The punishment, which made us well, was given to him. And we are healed because of his wounds.

Isaiah 53:5 ICB.

He was talking about Jesus Christ and what would happen to him. Imagine that. Even before he was born, what his death would do for you was prophesied long ago.

Look at the last sentence in the verse, “…And we are healed by his wounds.”  This means that for every wound Jesus received, He did so on your behalf. Instead of having you receive the consequences of your sins, Jesus took them upon His back.

He also made sure that you get healed from physical health challenges through His wounds. He already took them all on Him. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take your drugs or follow any doctors’ orders. It means that you should believe that Jesus has already bought your healing for you centuries before you were born. So enforcing your healing in Christ is your right.

When next you have a health challenge, say “by His wounds I am healed” because that’s true. And feel the healing power of Christ come upon you as you use your drugs too.

God bless you. By the wounds of Christ, you are healed of all health challenges you may be facing. Amen.

Prayer:
Jesus. Thank you for receiving my punishment on your back. Thank you. I receive the healing power you bought for me on the cross.

Action:
Do not forget to say by his wounds I am healed.

Declaration:
By his wounds, I am healed.

How To Test Compatibility In Relationship

How To Test Compatibility In Relationship

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Betty has always loved family life and she looked forward to marriage with tremendous ecstasy. Eventually she got married but did not enjoy one single day of her marriage. The reasons are not far-fetched. She is the type that wants her husband around her all the time. She is a in-the-home woman. But then she got married to a Military man because she loved Military weddings. It was just two weeks after her wedding that reality dawned on her. She had married a on-the-road man!

Her husband had to answer call of duty and he was gone for months.

The Bible clearly advises that when you want to go on a journey you should first of all take account and make plans.

A major question that needs to be answered as you prepare for marriage is the question of compatibility. Unfortunately, for most singles rather than look critically at these area, they’re busy concentrating on sexual compatibility, a flimsy excuse to indulge in pre-marital sex and satisfy the raging fire of lust in their soul.

Areas where compatibility issues needs to be critically examined include the following.

a. Intellectual compatibility
Not a few marriages have been dissolved because of this issue. Marriage is about communication. The moment you are married to someone who is at a great intellectual distance as to the extent of inhibiting natural communication flow, it alters the whole configuration. The other spouse begins to look elsewhere to satisfy that need for intellectual discussions and before long, unholy alliance are formed which eventually becomes a distraction to the marriage. It is like meeting a legitimate need in an illegitimate way.

b. Cultural compatibility
A lot of people would not want to hear about their children marrying from another tribe or ethnic group because of the experiences they have had. You see, the major problem is that people often advice others based on their experiences rather than on the principles of God’s word. I don’t see anything wrong in getting married from any tribe as long as you are led of God. You must however pay a lot of attention to parental consent. This is very crucial. What if your parents say an outright NO and you feel you are on the right path? Go to God in prayers. If it is really of God, He will sort it out Himself.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I will apply discretion in every area of my relationship as God helps me

PRAYERS FOR THE DAY
Lord, I ask that you give me wisdom and understanding in my relationship in Jesus name.

How To Show Affection In Your Marriage

How To Show Affection In Your Marriage

Reading Time: 3 minutes

The temperature of our marriage must be kept hot always. To achieve that takes a whole lot of work and attention. Our marriage is like a garden that needs constant touch and tending. Not so much of hard labour but those everyday tending, that is what will make affection increase in our marriage.

Here are some practical ways to increase affection in your marriage

1. Give undivided attention to your spouse
It is disheartening when your spouse gives you little or no attention at all. You feel you don’t matter and your person is not relevant to your spouses’ life. You feel they can do without you and your input doesn’t count. This is not a good feeling and must be avoided if your marriage must work.

Learn to give your spouse your undivided attention. The best way to do this is by listening to what they have to say and looking at them eyeball to eyeball.

2. Take time to recreate together.
My husband is a very busy man and I am grateful to God for his multidimensional ability in painstakingly using his initiative at his work. It is translating to food on the table. Despite his busyness, he still finds time daily to play and make us laugh.

When you are with someone you love, you should make the atmosphere lively and environment conducive to laughing, Playing, joking, making jests, telling stories, playing games together, etc. Just find something to do together.

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

3. Respect each other’s space
You have to respect each other’s space. Let your spouse be. During the lockdown, my husband was quite busy putting our services online and doing other ministry stuff to meet a particular schedule. Then he finished his work and all the tension seem to have disappeared, so he wanted to play. It was however a wrong time for me to play. I was praying and studying. He did play for some time but he respected my time to study and pray. We respected each other’s space and were willing to understand and help each other grow.

4. Be each other friend
Being each other’s friend has to do with everything including being gist partners, cheerleader, number 1 fan, critic, prayer partner, jester, teaser, confidant, gossip, teacher, mentor, leader, you just name it. Just focus on each other. Do things that please each other. Follow the guiding words of 1 Corinthians 13. Love each other genuinely.

5. Be your unique self
Your uniqueness remains your best selling point that endears you to your spouse. Of course, try to be an improvement of who you are but don’t loss your flavor. Your flavor is the taste your spouse can never get anywhere else. Do things that your spouse can remember with only you.

Avoid nagging, being unfriendly, cold, harsh, or abusive. Try also not to be lazy, it takes hard work to build a marriage.

6. Make Jeru trip a priority
What Jeru trip does in marriage is that it cements the bonds between the couples together. It helps to reduce stress and tension in the marriage. If you know how to utilize this gift very well to your advantage, it can eliminate strife completely.

For some couples, after a good Jeru trip is the best time to discuss pressing issues. This is when your husband will listen to you well and give your his undivided attention. It is foolishness for any woman to deprive (or man, as the case may be) her husband Jeru trip. Denying him is not the solution rather it will complicate matters.

God bless your marriage.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I receive the grace to show affection to my spouse

PRAYERS FOR THE DAY

My Children Are Not Afraid

My Children Are Not Afraid

Reading Time: 2 minutes

My children are not afraid; that should be your declaration. Fear is bad. Fear is evil. Fear is from the devil. Fear has torment. Fear means False Evidence Appearing Real.

2 Tim 1:7 (NKJV)For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

The good news is that God has not given us the spirit of fear. In God, we have something more than fear.

Rather than fear, God has given us the spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Declare that my children are not afraid.

When you are scared, what do you do?

Pray!

Praying helps you to get an understanding of what to do or not to do. Prayer is a tool to help you understand what is happening and how to deal with it.

Never allow fear into your life.

Also, talk to your parents about your fear. Don’t internalize. Talk to your teachers as well. Always learn to open up.

The major thing is that you shouldn’t allow fear – any of your false expectations appearing real, to stop you from doing what you’re supposed to do.

Don’t allow fear stop you from achieving your dreams. Declare again: My children are not afraid.

God doesn’t want you to have any form of fear and even if you do, He asks you to release them all to Him. He can carry them all and has the solution to solving them.

God bless you. Amen.

Prayer:
Lord, thank you for helping me with my fears. I am grateful for all the ways you do so. Amen.

Action point:
Release everything to God. Hold nothing back.

Declaration:
I am no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God. My children are not afraid.

More Ways To Get A Spouse From Psalm 23

More Ways To Get A Spouse From Psalm 23

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We began this topic few days back. If you missed the part 1, you can read it here.

3. God speaks in the stillness

He leadeth me beside the still waters.

The waters represent the word of the living God. He would lead you by His word in your heart. He would not necessarily speak to you through thunder and lightening neither will He slap you to get your attention, He leads you gently and will never force you to do anything.

He would not speak outside His word. If you cannot hear Him, then you have not been beside the still waters. Maybe, it has been long since you opened your Bible!

The still waters is not in the romantic soap operas or in the football matches. It is not in Time Magazine neither is it in philosophical novels. Not even in John Grisham. If that is all you spend your time doing at the expense of God’s word, you will have a hard time knowing His voice.

You have to consciously dedicate some time for Him, in the mornings, afternoons or nights. You don’t need any pastor or prophet to help you see something. You can see for yourself and you are the prophet of your own life.

Your pastor is to teach and guide you, not give you direction! Your pastor is not to choose a spouse for you; he can give suggestions though. Direction only comes beside the still waters, in God’s word. When you want to hear Him clearly, study His word dearly!

4. Get healed of hurts from broken relationships

He restoreth my soul:

This is pivotal to a successful relationship. Even in marriage, couples can hurt each other so badly they would start considering divorce. Hurts from the treatment you got from you Ex needs healing before proceeding to another relationship, or else that new person will suffer in your hands as a result of the hurts.

How do you get healed of hurts? How do you forgive somebody that cheated you and manipulated you and you are so hurt that you could shoot such a person?

God offers you an invitation to be healed

He restoreth my soul:

Yes, everywhere your soul has been punctured and ruptured, every area where your emotions were trampled, sampled and wrecked, God can and will restore!

He restoreth my soul:

God will reset your soul to factory default, if you allow Him! He will give you the grace to heal from wounds, forgive those who hurt you so that you can move on with your life.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Here Is How To Focus On Your Marriage – Part 2

Here Is How To Focus On Your Marriage – Part 2

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Focus on your marriage to make it work at all costs and against all odds. Lay the bed on your marriage well, so you can enjoy all the beauty in your own marriage. Learn all the principles you need to learn, drop all bad habits you need to drop. Break all pride, cockiness, selfishness, deception, and let your own marriage work.

If you are already separated, decide what you want, walk with God, and let him show you what next to do. Whichever way, God loves you and still wants the very best for you.

How to focus on your own marriage

1. Focus on yourself
You are a vital part of that marriage. Discover yourself. Who are you? What are your desires, what makes you come alive, what makes you enjoy living? Love yourself. Be a happy you.

2. Focus on your spouse
As a married person, the most important human being on earth is your spouse. Begin to treat him/her as such. Let nothing absolutely come in between that. Let the whole world know, your spouse is so important to you.

Some people treat their wives like ‘one kobo’ and expect her to treat them like ‘ a million dollar’, it ain’t gonna work that way.

Seize every opportunity to let everyone know this one human being is number one on your list.

3. Focus on God
Now, it will be very foolish to want to focus on yourself and your spouse and leave God out. It can not work. God is the center that holds the pieces all together. God is the vital force that crowns all our efforts with success.

4. Focus on your strength
You have strengths. Whether it’s your beauty, your home-making skills, your intellect, your being jovial, whatever it is, focus on it. It’s your selling point in your marriage. Don’t let go of your strong points.it is what will make your spouse keep coming back to you.

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

5. Focus on minimizing your weaknesses
Don’t ever make the mistake of pretending your weaknesses don’t exist. Don’t ignore them. Your weaknesses have the potential of destroying the marriage you are building, so destroy your weaknesses before they ever destroy your marriage.

6. Focus on satisfying yourselves
Why should you spend your energy, time, money on trying to please or satisfy another man’s wife? That’s called wastage.

Don’t go into an unprofitable venture. Ask yourself, if I satisfy her, how does it add to me or make my own marriage better?

Tend your own garden. When it’s harvest time, you won’t go and harvest on another man’s farm. It is not your own, so focus and build your own marriage.

He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.

Pro 12:11

God bless you and bless your marriage.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
My marriage is blessed

How To Give Hope With Your Words

How To Give Hope With Your Words

Reading Time: < 1 minute

There’s how to give hope to others using words. Words are strong tools that have an enormous strength to give hope to others. They can uplift somebody out of a bad situation.

Words are powerful. When a baby grows to a certain age, he/she is expected to start saying words, no matter how incoherent.

A classmate could be going through hard times at home and your words can give him hope. All the person might need could just be a “Your handwriting is cool”, “I like your shoes”, or “You are pretty”.

Prov 13:12 (NLT) Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.

You don’t know how far your words can go in giving hope to someone who feels like nobody cares or sees him.

Another thing you need to know about words is that words are spirits. Since we know spirits don’t die, then words don’t die as well.

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

John 6:63 (KJV)

So the words you say today will go a long way to determine how your tomorrow will turn out to be.

Be a beacon of hope today. Use your words to raise up someone’s spirit. Give them hope that God loves them no matter what. Make your words count.

God keep you always. Amen.

Prayer:
Lord, use me as a beacon of hope to others. Teach me how to use my words well, in Jesus name. Amen.

Action point:
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you locate people that need to hear of God’s goodness and love for them.

Declaration:
My words bring life to the dead and hope to the hopeless.

Reading Time: 2 minutes

I taught a message recently at our church on “What It Really Means To Jeun Soke! Below is a two-minute snippet from the message, which is the crux of today’s devotional. Kindly watch in two minutes before proceeding to read.

The two women decided to boil their children and eat! What could lead to this?

And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow. So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.

2Ki 6:28-29 (KJV)

What could engender such wickedness in a mother to the extent of making a meal out of her child? Women are not known for such expressions of wickedness and callousness? A woman’s love for her child is established.

But in the above scenario, mother’s love was thrown out of the window!

One of the women actually played out the script, her child was boiled, served, and eaten!

What led to this point where a mother was forced to do something abnormal is famine. They were famished and all sense of decorum flew away. Hunger led them into a place where absurdity took over.

Dear singles, you cannot allow your spirit man to be famished. The reason you find yourself in scenarios where you do things without mercy and consideration is because of spiritual hunger.

May you not get to the point where you boil your posterity.

You’ve got to learn to dive into God’s word and “Jeun Soke!

You’ve got to eat well before you embark on the journey of marriage, just as the angel encouraged Elijah to eat well because of the journey.

May God grant more understanding.

The Jeun Soke Couple Will Always Do Well

The Jeun Soke Couple Will Always Do Well

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Recently at our church, I taught on “What It Really Means To Jeun Soke! Below is a two-minute snippet from the message, which is a summary of today’s devotional. Kindly watch in two minutes before reading.

Why would these two women decide to boil their children and eat? What could lead to this?

And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow.  So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.

2Ki 6:28-29 (KJV)

There was a loss of all sense of decorum and the norm, all because of intense hunger and famine. The reality is that a good man can easily become a nasty individual as a result of a famished soul.

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

Dear husband and wife, it is not just wrong, but it is risky to be without food in your soul. It can lead to boiling of posterity. May that never be our portion in Jesus name!

The reason we often relate with our spouse without mercy or compassion is because we have not eaten well. Our spirit man is famished and it is causing us to misbehave and freely explore the absurdity.

Make up your mind as husband and wife, to eat well. You have to. It’s a decision you have to make. Your spiritual diet will often decide whether your seed or children will survive or not.

Dive into God’s word and Jeun Soke! Not just once daily and but as many times as you can. Keep eating that word, because that is where life is!

Good morning!

Taking Good Care Of Your Eyes

Taking Good Care Of Your Eyes

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Your eyes are a gift from God to behold this beautiful and wonderful world – the earth, He created. But the enemy has somehow found a way of introducing sin and evil into the world.
Through people on earth, many unholy things have almost become a norm in the world today. Though your eyes are to see but not everything you see is good for your eyes. The bible tells us that

“Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light.

Matt. 6:22 NLT.

What you see affects your body. Witnessing a traumatic event affects your mind and body. Also when you watch morally unfit videos it affects your body.

Watch out for videos or movies that show sexual content even if they have PG16 labels on them. Remember God is Holy and watching such videos or films is an unholy act.

Don’t be fooled by the words of your friends or people that watching it won’t affect you. It will. The only safe way out of it is not to watch it and run away from friends, people, or situations that will want to make you do so.

It is better to obey God than to have the coolest friendships that will lead you to a lifetime of sexual depravity.
One way to know if what you are watching is bad is when you have to hide from others before you watch. That means you are not meant to watch it.

Remember, your eyes are a lamp for your body. They help to keep you from stumbling. Use them well just like you would use a lamp to see in the dark.

God bless and keep you safe in this dark world. Amen.

Prayer point:
Lord, help me to keep my eyes safe from looking at things that I shouldn’t be looking at.

Action point:
What have you been watching lately? If they are not in line with God’s, pray and ask God to help you overcome them. And tell your parents about it too.

Declaration:
My eyes will not behold iniquity. I watch what I see.

How You Can Get A Spouse From Psalm 23

How You Can Get A Spouse From Psalm 23

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Here are a few things to note from Psalm 23

1. He is personally interested in you

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

There is something personal about that. “The Lord is my…” It didn’t say the Lord is “our shepherd.”

“He is my….”

He will attend to me personally. He does not deal with me generally. Only God can do that. He attends to billions of people with billions of requests in billions of places at the same time without missing a beat or wiping sweat off His brow. He doesn’t make mistakes. He would not mistakenly give me a bicycle when my request was for a car.

The shepherding grace of God then is what I enjoy when I have a personal relationship with God, not just by being a member of a church.

The first thing I need to do then is to develop a conscious relationship with God, who is my shepherd.

No wonder Jesus Christ said:

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

John 10:14

There must of necessity be a personal knowing, a connectedness, a relationship with God upon which every successful courtship and marriage will stand.

He will personally attend specifically to my marital needs. He knows who I am, who I need, and who I don’t need!

He is my shepherd!

2. He wants your submission and obedience

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

He wants you to lie down and feed on His Word, and He doesn’t want you running around all over the place. Adam couldn’t get a wife until He slept. Some of us are just too awake. Sometimes, you just need to be still and know that He is God and that He is your shepherd.

It is not only your toasting skill that will get you a spouse, sometimes it is just your ability to be still and follow His direction. It is not all about the dressing and the perfumes alone, there is a place for His fragrance which comes by His favour!

Psalm 46:10Be still, and know that I am God:

Message translations says, “Step out of the traffic…”

That is why He calls you a sheep, even though you might not like that particular creature. You probably prefer a lion. But the sheep actually shows the true vulnerability of the Homo-Sapien. However, the sheep that stay with the shepherd is even more powerful than the lion!

Stay obedient to Him!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want a good spouse

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Lord, guide me with your shepherding grace to find the right spouse.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Psalm 46:11The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY
Read and meditate on Psalm 23

Here Is How To Focus On Your Marriage

Here Is How To Focus On Your Marriage

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Good morning, married folk out there. God bless your marriage. God is committed until your marriage becomes all it has the potential to become.

Your marriage can work out beautifully well. You can enjoy and have that dream marriage you always desire. Don’t for once ever feel it can never happen.

If you believe it can never happen, gosh, you just announced it won’t happen. Don’t give up, but be willing and obedient to do and give your marriage all it takes to make it work.

You know married couples should begin to have this attitude of ‘my marriage is personal and I got to make it work’.

You know while growing up, my dad will always say this proverb, ‘ as you lay your bed, so you will lie on it’. Then, I would wonder, why is he worried about how I lay my bed?

I don’t have a care about how my bed is, once I hit the bed, I don’t have enough time to notice how it is, I just sleep.

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

Later, I realized it’s not just about my physical bed, but it’s about life generally. Talking about our physical bed, it’s very good to learn to make our beds well and train our kids to do so too.

Someone said, laying your bed before leaving the house every morning gives you a sense of achievement. It may look small, but somewhere in your sub-conscious you feel good, you have at least a good, well laid bed…lol

For us married, the bed is also very important.

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

Heb 13:4

My husband will jokingly say, the bed is the most important furniture to the couple. I want to agree with that.

The bed is the legalized furniture for love making. Of course not the only furniture, several others have joined in the quest for ‘orgasmic’ love making.

Now, talking about focusing on your marriage, you have to decide what you want your marriage to look like. No doubt there are a lot of factors that may want to stand against this but you have to stand your ground. Stand your ground to live a worthy legacy for your children and generation yet unborn.

How exactly do we focus on our marriage?

I will show us tomorrow.

God bless our marriage.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
My marriage is blessed

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Lord, teach me to embrace your love

Isa 49:16 (GW) I have engraved you on the palms of my hands. Your walls are always in my presence.

Overcome The Loss Of A Dear Friend

Overcome The Loss Of A Dear Friend

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Losing a friend can be so painful. But there is the need to be comforted, for us to make progress in our lives. Dear child, overcome the loss of a dear friend.

Jesus told the disciples that in His father’s house there are many mansions there. He also mentioned to them that He was going to prepare a place for them.

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

John 14:2 (KJV)

Jesus left the earth so that He could make heaven ready for us. As Christians, who truly love and obey Jesus’ instructions heaven has been made ready for us and our loved ones.

Understand that you would meet them again. In heaven, you all would be together again. The bible tells us that in heaven there won’t be anything like disease or death.

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There won’t be death anymore. There won’t be any grief, crying, or pain, because the first things have disappeared.”

Rev 21:4 (ISV)

Thank God for this fact and let it be your comfort. Though the pain of the loss is still there, rest in the assurance that you will see them again.

May the Lord comfort you always. Amen.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for heaven. Thank You because I will see my loved ones again.

Action plan:
Thank God for the gift of your loved ones. Thank Him for they know Jesus.

Declaration:
Thank you, Lord, because I will see my friends again. I overcome.

More Things To Do When You Feel Like Ending It

More Things To Do When You Feel Like Ending It

Reading Time: 3 minutes

This article is continued from yesterday. If you missed yesterdays devotional, you can read it here.

Will one ever get to a place in life where doubt is completely extricated and will never occur again?” Like take a gun and shoot doubt forever and ever?

Well, the answer is a big NO. Doubt will still come, whether you like it or not. But it is now your choice to discard it or embrace it.

How do we deal with doubt and how can it be prevented?

1. The first thing to note is that you should never take a step until you are sure of God’s plan! That way, you are rock solid when doubt surfaces because you already know what you are doing. Let doubts come from a thousand ends, you remain steadfast because you already heard God and His word that you heard would stabilize you and become an anchor to your soul.

2. Don’t fall in love anyhow. Fall in love with common sense and with your eyes open.

3. Do not despise the wisdom of authority figures in your life. They may not be right all the time, but God can often use their voice to speak to you and keep you from making costly mistakes.

4. Read God’s word regularly. That is what will stabilize your soul. Pray as well and speak in tongues a lot.

What do you do if you are already in doubt?

1. Take time to go back to God in prayers and listen to Him talk to you again.

2. Fast if necessary and spend time in God’s presence until you hear Him

3. Clean up your life from all forms of sexual compromises. Jeru trip and other sexual sins will usually bring confusion and with confusion, there will be huge kettles of doubt in your mind.

4. If you are married and doubt keeps coming, the solution is not to walk out of your marriage. Rather, stay with your spouse and refuse to entertain doubts. Go to God in prayers and renew your covenant with God. See doubt as an attempt from the devil to render your prayers ineffective, so guard against it.

Lastly, how can one be sure that a decision is of God?

The acid test is what is called “peace”

Take a look at this scripture:

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

(Philippians 4:7 KJV)

Amplified Version:

“And God’s peace [ shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace ] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

(Php 4:7, AMP)

Did you see that? This peace that comes as an assurance of God’s voice concerning a decision will become like an army officer to your soul, It will mount guard and disallow any doubt from accessing your mind. Glory to God!

My prayer for you this morning is that you will indeed hear God. I speak against every confusion in your life, no more in Jesus name! I come against every plan of the devil, every intent of hell, every strategy of the evil one, no more in your life in Jesus name!

I speak peace to every storm in relationships, and I pray for God’s divine intervention in Jesus name!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I am not confused.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Pray that every doubt will be destroyed

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
“Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” (Php 4:7, MSG)

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY
Spend time in God’s presence

How To Take Care Of Your Husband

How To Take Care Of Your Husband

Reading Time: 2 minutes

One of your roles as a wife is to take care of your husband. In some parts of the country, young ladies preparing for marriage are often taught some of these skills. Others watch their mothers or older women as they perform this all important role of taking care of their husbands.

You can become a wife a moment you sign the wedding register. It takes a minute to earn the title of ‘Mrs’, the moment you sign the dotted line and say ‘I do’. But to function as a wife requires knowledge and skills.

This skill of taking care of one’s husband is fast becoming obsolete. Wives, no longer see it as a priority and responsibility. Our present society is not helping matters. Husbands are left in the hands of maids to take care of while the wives go on in pursuit of their careers.

Some wives don’t know how to take care of their husbands. Meanwhile, taking care of your husband is the key to marital bliss. When you treat your husband like a king, he reciprocates back treating you like his queen. It is honor to take good care of your husband and there are blessings attached to it.

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

You take care of your husband in the following ways:

1. Cook him variety of dishes
I know most wives are working class women who probably have maids. You can supervise what the maid cooks for him.

2. Serve his food
Some wives are not even there to see to what their husband is eating. There is a lot of power in food. And she who feeds your husband is important.

3. Serve him in any and every aspect he requires
Be there to assist your husband. Treat him as a king, there are some things you don’t just allow your husband do. Not because he is handicapped, but because you want to show him honor

4. Be involved in what he does
Part of being an help meet is showing interest in whatever your husband does. Be it business, career etc. Ask questions about what you don’t know.

5. Be his friend and emotional ally
There is nothing a man needs more than a friend. Someone to gist with. Be that friend

6. Meet his sexual needs
Jeru trip
for your husband is very important. Don’t leave that aspect of your duty unattended to. Satisfy his needs as often as he requires it. Your role is not complete until this aspect is fulfilled.

7. Pray for your husband
When you pray for him him you engage the power of divinity to step in, in areas where your humanity can’t reach. You can pray for his protection, provision and whatever he may be dealing with.

If wives can try and fulfill all these, there will be less quarrel in homes and marriages.

God bless your marriage
