There is an elopement with God, your lover that will extricate your life’s struggles and agonies!
Lord, I want to elope with you!
The way you desire to just be with your lover in one resort where you are looking into each other’s eyes and verbalizing some romantic nonsensical words is the same way you should desire to elope with God into some retreat, verbalizing your cares and your concerns.
The way you enjoy looking into the eyes of your lover is the way you should enjoy beholding the word of God.
The way your adrenaline flows at the appearance of your lover is the way your passion should come alive at the mention of His name!
Doth wine make you merry? Oh, try the love of God. It will get you drunk in Him!
Holy Ghost joy will flood your soul and His word will become a joy and rejoicing of your heart.
It is when your love for God is fully expressed that God becomes committed to finding that loved one!
God’s love teaches you how to love your lover appropriately and not selfishly. God’s love teaches you how to be romantic, how to be a lover boy or girl, how to be faithful to your spouse, and how not to cheat on your loved one!
Before you fall in love, before you give your heart out, is he a God-lover? Has he run away with God before? Has he eloped with God into some private moments with divinity?
If he hasn’t done that, he cannot love you appropriately! You are too precious to be loved illegally.
When he or she comes asking for your love, ask him or her, have you eloped? Have you run off with Him? Then that determines whether you can run with him or her.
If you dare run away with the one that has not run with God, not even GPS can locate you!
You will not disappear from heavenly radar! You will not be lost under His favour radar! God will give you His direction! You will not be confused!

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit
Words are strong tools that have an enormous strength to give hope to others. They can uplift somebody out of a bad situation.
A classmate could be going through hard times at home and your words can give him hope. All the person might need could just be a “Your handwriting is cool”, “I like your shoes”, or “You are pretty”.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life. – Prov 13:12 (NLT)
What you say is not as important as how you say it. How you say what you say is very important.
Your words mean a lot to the person beside you.
You don’t know how far your words can go in giving hope to someone who feels like nobody cares or sees him.
Be a beacon of hope today. Use your words to raise up someone’s spirit. Give them hope that God loves them no matter what. Make your words count.
God keep you always. Amen.
Prayer: Lord, use me as a beacon of hope to others. Teach me how to use my words well, in Jesus name. Amen

We all have seeds to sow into our marriage. It is a fact that we all do not have seeds like money, for example, to sow into our marriage but we all have ‘time and words’ to sow into our marriage. No one is left without seeds. Everyone can always change their marriage for the better.
1. The seed of kind actions
You married your spouse because you at least liked who they were as a person. There must have been at least one thing you admired about your spouse. We all have the capacity to do kind things to and for our spouses. Those kinds of actions are not ordinary. They are the seeds God has given us to deploy in our marriages.
I Cor13:4-13 talks about the attributes of love and the fact that love never fails. If your spouse is behaving in a selfish manner, you choose to put the power of the seed to use and influence your marriage in a positive way.
Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting. – 1 Cor 13:7 [CEV]
A miracle happens when we sow our God-given seed. But remember, our seed is only powerful when it is sown. So be a seed sower in your marriage. See your kind actions not as mere actions but as your seed and your God-given influence over your marriage.
2. The seed of Prayers
Another seed we have is our ability to pray. If we viewed prayers as receiving help from God, it will help us to stay committed to the power in prayer.
Prayer is going to the throne of Grace to obtain help.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. – Heb 4:16 [KJV]
We all need help at one time or another in our marital journey.

There are times we just don’t seem to be able to hold on any longer or we don’t just seem to know what more to do. When we pray, we bring God into our situation. God answers us in different ways. He may not answer us the way we want to be answered, but we have His promise to answer us.
He may give us the wisdom to handle the situation, patience to hold on, or strength of character to do what is right.
There are such untapped powers in our prayers especially if it is for our marriage.
3. The Seed of Hope
Our hoping for the best and not giving up on our marriage or spouse is important. This is the power that holds all other seeds we have or decide to sow together.
We have hope, and that is why we can sow whatever seed we have. Not giving up on your spouse is needed.
God wants to see our hope alive. So whatever we do, let us not forget to always keep our hope alive. God can restore the most difficult marriage. God can intervene and give us a miracle but we have to keep hope alive.
Let us keep sowing our seeds and know that we will reap a rich harvest if we faint not.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. – Gal 6:9 [KJV]

Just wanted to look into those adorable eyes, set in an angelic face, with the most gentle smiles emanating in measured doses.
The pouting lips, the nose that looks like the road that leads to Galilee…everything seemed custom-made for me!
I wanted to run away with her alone to some far-far-away land where it would just be the two of us, enraptured in pure love and doing no other thing but being in love.
I imagined those movies, and I am in the cast with Sophia, in some majestic palace, gold-adorned, with several servants and we are just singing, celebrating, and rejoicing!
But the scripture above is not about me and Sophia!
It is not about you and your babe!
It is not about you and your TDH – tall, dark and handsome!
The scripture is talking about you and God!
Lord, take me away with you!
Are you really in love with God? The proof is in your intense desire to run away with Him in His word!
The authenticity of your romance with divinity is in the intensity of your desire to run away into His presence!
You want celebration in your life! Do you want to sing songs of victory? Then get ready to run off with Him!
The more you ignore Him, the more your destiny suffers!

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit
As couples, there are areas we need to make improvements with our lives because we have the capacity to do and be more than it presently is. We need to grow so we can accomplish more and become more fulfilled in life especially in our marriage.
1. Spiritually
As a couple, we should grow together in the Lord. Our spiritual growth is of utmost importance and we should take it as such. Even Jesus Christ grew and waxed strong in spirit.
And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel. – Luke 1:80 [KJV]
You need to strive at growing spiritually first on a personal level.
Some husbands are of the opinion that their wives are supposed to grow more than they and be their intercessors. They go around and commit all manner of sins and expect the prayers of their wives to cover them. This is not right. Every husband should be the head of his family in every ramification.
We grow together spiritually when we are able to hear, walk and work with God on the same frequency in our marriage. Not that God is asking your husband to do a particular thing and you don’t have the slightest clue because you are still a babe in Christ.
We grow spiritually when we give attention to the things of God. Daily study of the Bible, prayers, meditations of God’s word, et cetera, all sum up our spiritual growth. Let couples be seen serving God together. It’s such a blessing when husband and wife hold hands to pray and wreak havoc to the kingdom of darkness together.

This year, we should make it our priority to serve and know God more. Let us give time to seeking and searching for the Lord. Wisdom is the principal thing we have to seek before anything.
2. Mentally
Our mental health is so important and we need to pay attention to it. Why we need to aim at this development as couples is that, if we don’t grow together, we will not be able to relate well to our spouse on the same level. We have mental capabilities that are yet untapped and we need to explore this aspect of our lives.
Our mental capacity is our ability to think well and process events well. It is the creative part of us. It is also our intellectual capacity. Some couples have the husband further his education and develop his mental capacity while the wife remains at the school certificate level.
We should as couples grow together and be on the same mental level so we can discuss issues together without the fear of losing our spouse in the discussion. The wife or husband should stop feeling intimidated whenever one spouse is discussing intelligently with other people of the opposite sex.
We should be able to engage our spouses mentally. Mental development is essential especially since men are logical. We can develop our mental capacity by going back to school (if need be), taking online courses, engaging in brain-stimulating events, learning new skills, reading news and other intellectual pieces, being current through reading and learning.
Don’t be rigid and old school. Learn new things and new ways of doing things.
The world has gone digital, don’t be analog in your mind. Don’t become obsolete or you will be laid aside by your contemporaries.
Let’s work on this aspect of our lives because it has effects on our marriage.

Angry situations occur in life. We feel angry when people do or say things about us that we don’t like. Anger is an emotion that can lead us to say harsh words to others.
Your sibling wears your shirt without your permission and stains it. It’s probably happened a couple of times and you have warned him. Yet, he failed to listen but this time you plan to give him a piece of your mind.
Harsh words fly out of your mouth and land on your brother. Soon the poor boy has tears in his eyes or he suddenly loses self-esteem and locks himself up in his room for the whole day. You must therefore learn how to manage angry situations.
Your brother is not right in taking your shirt without your permission. You are not right also with your choice of words.
Instead of your words helping the situation, they have only caused more harm. Choose your words carefully. Don’t speak out of anger. Even when someone hurts you, don’t hurt them back.
May God give you the grace for calming words.
Prayer: Lord, teach me not to speak out of anger to people around me. Amen

The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir. – Son 1:17 (KJV)
The beams talks about that which supports a house. A house is built by wisdom.
A foolish husband is a disaster. A foolish woman is clamorous.
Your lover should have a penchant for wisdom. He or she must be growing.
The beams of your house must be cedar, not just some stick out there. If the beams of your house are not cedars, there won’t be shade when marital heat comes!
Go after wisdom.
Does your lover put the word of God first place? You need wisdom to build a home!
Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars – Pro 9:1 (KJV)
Study God’s word. Spend time there. That is how to get wisdom.
Do not fall in love with a vain person. A marriage cannot be sustained on adrenaline and promises alone. Depth and wisdom is required.
Watch out for these!
Does your lover prefer to watch movies rather than read books? Would your lover rather sleep all day rather than research and study to know more?
In the just concluded year, ask your lover how many books were read. These symptoms points somewhere, trust me?
I pray for you this morning, God will send every help you need into your life to move you from where you are to where you ought to be in Jesus name!
I pray for all singles who are struggling with one form of compromise or the other, God will set you free.

For a while now, we have been talking about right decisions. Hope you have been following closely. The reason we are dwelling on this topic is because the way you begin the year matters a lot.
It’s noteworthy to point out that it’s four days into the year already, so much has happened in just three days. I hope you aren’t planning to flow with the tides?
What decisions have you made for the year? Or do you plan to live every day as it comes?
If you want a fruitful year, it’s not too late to set your goals for 2022.
Here are a few things you should consider:
1. Wake up early every day to say a word of Prayer before setting out for school;
It is wrong for you to leave your house without first communicating with your maker.
2. Make sure to read your Bible every day;
Do you remember the Sunday school song ‘read your bible and pray every day if you want to grow’?
3. Be committed to showing love to everyone around:
God made everyone, so show love to everyone.
4. Respect your parents and everyone else:
Do you remember what the scriptures say about showing respect to your parents?
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. – Ephesians 6:1
5. Do your best at everything:
Do not live a life of mediocrity. Go for the best.
With these few things, you are set for an amazing year already.

Pursue! was taught by Rev. Dunamis Okunowo on the 2nd of January 2022 at Shouts of Grace Center, Joke Plaza, Beside Trans Amusement Park, Bodija-UI Road, Ibadan.
In his teaching, Rev. Dunamis made mention of the following important points:
The pattern of God is to change you so that you can then change the situation. If there’s no change in you there will be no change around you.
The new year won’t make much difference if there’s no new you. You will have the same results till there’s a change in you.
2022 is going to be a very quick year, because God said ‘pursue!’
And David enquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.” 1 Samuel 30:8 (KJV)
God is a God of process; He is not a magician.
This is the year to pursue; not a year to sit down and allow the waves of life to toss you up and down. Make up your mind to be a very deliberate person.
The devil may not be able to kill you, but he would try to steal from you.
Your goods that have been tapered with will be recovered this year in the name of Jesus. You will drive that car this year. You will build that house this year. You will start that project this year. You will marry this year.
God has given you an assurance of recovery, all you need to do is pursue.
Our running this year is purposeful.
The first thing to take note of in pursuing this year is your dressing. You can’t run effectively with extra loads on your body.
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1
This year, shed off all the weights and sin you’re carrying, and run light. All the power of hell cannot stop the word of God; only you can!
Weights are not sin, but they slow you down in your journey. Sin is anything that offends God.
Two ways to forgive someone quickly
1. Pray for the blessing of that person
2. Buy a gift for that person
Decide to work the work until that which God has spoken becomes your experience. Years will be collapsed into 2022, and then extracted for you. Ensure that there is no situation that steals your joy, for it is your joy that grants you the strength needed to pursue.

The dove is a gentle bird. It often symbolizes peace. So, this talks about character.
After the physical appearance, then you must take into cognizance the inner beauty.
Outer beauty without inner character is a disaster.
The flesh of my flesh, that talks about outer beauty. The bone of my bones deals with character, inner structure, the inner frame supporting and holding the outer beauty in place. This is important.
Can you vouch for his or her character? Will he raise his hands to beat you when he is angry? Then, he is not qualified.
Will she pack her things, leave her parents’ home and go sleep in a friend’s house over simple altercations? Then, you need to be careful.
Has he slapped you once? You need to be careful. He has shown you a sample of what is to come!
God has presented you with an opportunity to know what he or she is like!
Love is not stupid. Love doesn’t turn you into an idiot. Think. Ask questions. Don’t walk blindly into a marriage that could mar destinies for life.
3. Green Bed
Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green. – Son 1:16 (KJV)
The bed must remain green and fresh. Putrefaction must not set in as a result of iniquity and pre-marital affairs!
When the bed has been stained red with compromise, wrong seeds have been sown.
As you go into that relationship, make up your mind that the bed must remain green! Do not soil the bed with iniquity, because as you lay your bed so you lie on it.
In essence, everything you do before your wedding date is a seed, a foundation for your marriage.
If he wants to stain the bed by all means, let him go, maybe he is not yours!
If she wants to drag you into the bed before the time, beware lest you are dealing with a strange woman.
If you are already married, keep your bed green and avoid all forms of adultery including emotional affairs.
If you are entangled or about to be entangled, seek help. Don’t keep quiet. Iniquity is perpetuated in the atmosphere of secrecy.

The Kind Of Beauty God Loves. We all want to look beautiful. It is delightsome when our husbands tell us, ‘you look pretty or ‘you are gorgeous’.
And I must tell you, there is so much noise about different beauty products. Makeup artists are being paid heavily just to make women look gorgeous.
The fashion industry is booming with different styles every day. We have all types of human hair now, and they are really expensive.
The other day I saw a Whatsapp video of a woman bleaching. She was literally removing the layer of the skin. Women go through all these troubles just to feel and hear people say they are beautiful.
There is nothing wrong with being beautiful. In fact, God loves it when we are beautiful because we reflect God in our beauty.
We as believers, however, who are called of God to be separate from those of the world and called out of darkness into His marvelous light need to know that our beauty and our motive has to be different.

God never approves of a wife who is beautiful outwardly but has a nasty, stinking attitude, especially with her husband.
I love how the CEV bible puts it in
Don’t depend on things like fancy hairdos or gold jewelry or expensive clothes to make you look beautiful. Be beautiful in your heart by being gentle and quiet. This kind of beauty will last, and God considers it very special. – 1Pe 3:3-4
Our beauty should not be based on externals. If we spend all our time focusing on making our bodies beautiful at the expense of our spirit, we have beautiful bodies and ugly spirits.
God does care so much about our nails or fixed hair as much as He does our gentle and quiet spirit. He is not proud of wives who take their primary responsibility for granted.
Our primary responsibility is worship to God and part of our worship to God is honoring our husband.
Until we see being submissive, putting our husbands first, and honoring them as worship to God, we will keep fighting for our rights.
God is a just God and He well knows how to defend us, take care of us and reward us. All He asks of us is to honor Him first and be mindful of making the fragrance of our worship raise up to Him as our worship.
This is the beauty He is proud of and acknowledges.
May we not end up knowing all our beauty regimes were all wasted and as filthy rags before God.
May we all be truly beautiful inside out!

Do you know how to live with integrity? Taiwo wasn’t really interested in helping Ola with her mathematics assignment. She had consented to it while they were amongst friends and didn’t want to look uncool. The others had clapped for her, Taiwo never felt this good.
Now, Ola was coming over to Taiwo’s house with the assignment, any minute from now. Oh boy! Taiwo suddenly wished she had not agreed to it in the first place. Her favorite show would be coming on the television soon and she didn’t want to miss it.
‘Why the worry?’ Taiwo’s mom asked her. ‘You are wearing out the rug.’
‘I promised to help Ola with her assignment but can’t anymore. I want to watch my favorite show on television.’ Taiwo answered.
‘Now what did Jesus say about that?’ she asked.
‘We should keep our promises?’ Taiwo said.
‘Exactly!’ said her mom.
Jesus said we should not be too hasty to make a promise. Making a quick decision without first thinking it through could be a problem for us like Taiwo is in right now.
But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation. – James 5:12, KJV
Keeping promises is very important as they help to build our integrity and credibility.
‘So what are you going to do?’ Taiwo’s mom asked her again.
‘I guess I can watch the show next week. Ola won’t be happy if I don’t help her as promised. I have to keep my promise.’ Taiwo said.
I am so proud of you.’ said her mother, clapping for Taiwo.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to keep my promises so I can be a person of integrity and credibility. Also, make me wise enough to not make hasty decisions or promises in your mighty name I pray. Amen.
Action plan: Are there promises you have made to others and you didn’t keep? Pray about them and ask Jesus to help you keep them. Also, ask for forgiveness from these people.
Declaration: My yes is yes. I will not be double-minded.
I want to write to you this morning as a father would write his son or daughter on qualities to watch out for in deciding who to get married to.
Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes. Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green. The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir. – Son 1:15-17 (KJV)
Let’s get into this by the Holy Spirit.
1. Beauty and Comeliness
Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair… – Son 1:15(KJV)
The word fair means “goodly, pleasant, well.”
Attraction is important. Physical endearment is of utmost importance.
The pulchritude should not be ignored in the equation of marriage. Get married to someone that you are attracted to.
God will never lead you to someone you hate with a passion. He is not an author of confusion.
No matter how many dreams you had about someone, if he or she is someone you loathe and despise, do not be coerced into a relationship by some spiritual experience you can’t prove its source.
He should be pleasant to your eyes. She should be pleasant to your eyes.
After the wedding, you should wake up singing in the Spirit when you behold him or her, not pleading the blood of Jesus against him or waking up with a hiss and regret. So, this is important, okay.
Marriage is not a hundred meter dash, it is a marathon and you are in it for the long haul. So, your lover must be pleasant.
In reality, nobody is ugly. Beauty is in the beholder’s eye.
Your lover may not be pleasant to all, but he or she must be pleasant to you. That is all that matters.

The year 2022 is very strategic and we need to position ourselves to be ready to partake of all God has for us.
You know, most of the time, we all think of what we should be or should have been doing. Sometimes, we even feel sorry about not doing those things. We feel bad and we figure if we had been doing those things how much we would have been happier and our lives would have improved.
The scary thing about this is that God will only tug at our hearts to do those things that will make us live a happier and fulfilled life or to stop doing certain things.
God will never force man to do what is right. God is a just God and He created us with the right to make our own decisions.
People are going to hell because they didn’t decide or make up their minds they are NOT going to end up in hell. Some other factors are responsible like disobedience, not forgiving, etc, but what I am saying is that, there is tremendous power in our decision. No devil can stop us once we take a decision.

We all need to come to a point where we make up our minds and make decisive efforts. Not making a decision is a decision in its self.
Here are some decisions you can make this new year.
1. To spend more time with God and practice His presence
2. To spend more time with God’s word daily.
3. To read more widely.
4. To be an intercessor.
5. To be deliberate with loving people
6. To be a more happy person and not waste time being moody.
7. To save more money and be an investor
8. To exercise daily and watch your diet.
9. To live a life of giving and sacrifice
10. To be a doer of the Word.
11. To have mentors and follow them closely.
There are some other decisions you take daily or several times a day. Learn to live your life purposefully.
May the Lord grant us strength.
