When Your Mouth Is Filled With Laughter

When Your Mouth Is Filled With Laughter

Reading Time: 2 minutes

How do I do that, Pastor?

Just go ahead and laugh at what you are going through

Hey, Pastor, you don’t really have an idea.

Yes, that is the more reason I want you to laugh and keep your joy.

When your life looks like there is nothing man can do, when that moment comes when you realize that you will need God’s intervention, then what you should do is laugh.

Why should you laugh!

A child should do what he sees his father do.

When situations set themselves against you, when people take counsel against you, when the heathen rage and the people imagine all kind of evil against you, when enemies rise up against you, and the battle seemed too much and too many for you, what do you do?

Start crying? No!

Start complaining and pity-partying? No!

Just Laugh!

Because that is what your father in heaven will do!

Psa 2:1-4 (KJV) Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?  [2]  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,   [3]  Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.  [4]  HE THAT SITTETH IN THE HEAVENS SHALL LAUGH: the Lord shall have them in derision.

God laughs at them because He knows they are losers!

God laughs at them because He knows they can never win over Him!

Your laughter then is an expression of your faith in God that you already won!

When a two-year-old boy starts telling you he is going to fight you and kill you, what do you do? You just laugh because you know the little boy wouldn’t be able to do it, ever!

That is why God laughs! God simply holds them in derision!

Amplified Bible says; God, in supreme contempt He mocks them.

Mock your situation with a heavy dose of laughter because you will have the victory!

They said you will never marry? Just laugh, because you will!

They said you will never find a spouse because all your friends are married?

Just laugh because NOBODY can marry your spouse!

Go ahead and LAUGH!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I choose to be joyful and laugh all through this year

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Lord, fill my mouth with laughter

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Ps 2:4 [CEV] In heaven the Lord laughs as he sits on his throne, making fun of the nations.

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY
Go ahead and LAUGH!

Filling the Gap in Your Marriage

Filling the Gap in Your Marriage

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Every once in a while, we always fill in certain gaps in our marriage created consciously or unconsciously. As couples, we are a team and should see ourselves as such.

As a team, our goal must be to work together to achieve a common goal. Every family is unique and we have different desires in our hearts we want to be fulfilled.

We are to complement each other. As a couple, the husband’s strengths should be the place of weakness for the wife and vice versa. That’s why it is good for each one of us to develop our unique strengths.

Let the husband not fight the wife over their strengths but celebrate each other’s differences. Our differences are there to create a balance, like the breaks in a car or the speed breakers are meant to control the speed of a car.

We are meant to fill in the gap created by our spouse without being critical or judgmental. If your spouse does not pray as much as you pray, don’t waste time pointing out his or her weakness. The ideal thing to do is just step in and get the job done.

Well, I know it is not every weakness we should step in and fill. This could breed irresponsibility. Based on the uniqueness of each family, each member should be given a particular task to do. There should be a division of labor and responsibility.

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

I don’t subscribe to an individual doing everything in marriage. Each person should have something to bring to the table. But when there are lapses on either part, please let us receive Grace to step in and do the needful and the Lord will help us.

For example, if your husband does not talk that much, you talk without complaining and he will also learn from you. The Bible admonishes us not to be weary in well-doing.

Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

We will only reap if we faint not. Let us always put in mind our harvest. This will keep us from being discouraged.

There are seasons of waiting and it is my prayer that God will strengthen us and keep us from being discouraged in our homes as we keep up the good work in Jesus name.

God bless our marriages

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I step in and fill the gap for my spouse

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Ask for the grace to fill in the gap for your spouse

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Gal 6:9 [AMP] And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.

Little One, You Are Special

Little One, You Are Special

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Little one, you are special! What does it mean to be chosen? The word “chosen” signifies being set apart for a reason. And how are people chosen? People are chosen on account of certain attributes they have. Things like a good character, telling the truth, humility and discipline make people to be chosen.

Let’s look at the verse in Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart for a special work. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5 ICB

This was God speaking to the prophet Jeremiah. The Lord chose Jeremiah by o speak to the children of Israel. These people were very stubborn and disobeyed God many times. God sent Jeremiah to them with warnings to turn from their wayward ways.

Look at the first part of the verse–Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I chose you…
God created everyone and before we were even put in our mother’s womb. You were already alive before God put you in her womb.

God has seen everything about you and decided to call you for His own. That’s why He chose you for that.

If God chooses you to do something, it means you are very special to Him. That there is a particular work God has for you.

Look well at this verse and meditate on it. Declare it over and over, personalize the words and believe.
There is something special about you and God wants to use the special gift He has given you for the good of His kingdom here on earth.

May the Lord keep you all day. Amen

Prayer:
Father, thank You that before anyone was there, it was only You and I. Thank You for everything. Amen

Action point:
Look at your life. What things make you feel special about knowing how God chose you?

Declaration:
I am special. God has need of me. Glory.

The Right Response To Hurts And Disappointments – Part 3

The Right Response To Hurts And Disappointments – Part 3

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Continued from yesterday…

There are some of us that hold our parents in derision. You are wrong to do that.

But my parents are not born-again!

You see, the scripture never says you should honour your born-again parents!

He said you should honour your parents! That is how to last on the planet earth! So that your days will be long!

In fact, a particular translation says, honour your parents so that God can say well done to you!

Some of you are having delays in marriage because you are walking in disobedience. If your parents have ever said wrong words to you because you were at loggerheads with them, go back to them and apologize.

Humble yourself, so that you won’t slow yourself down. Dishonouring your parents and refusing to forgive them can cost you your life! Read your Bible very well.

Go back to them, buy a gift, prostrate or kneel down and ask them to bless you! That act alone will be better off than ninety days of fasting and prayers, which might not yield results because of unforgiving spirit.

Why waste your time praying? Isn’t that a religious spirit at work?

Married couples, be quick to forgive each other! Don’t allow strife in your family. Forgive your spouse. You will do yourself a lot of good if you do that. If you don’t forgive him or her, your prayers will be hindered. Don’t block God’s blessings over you at this time.

If you have been in prolonged hurt and strife, it is dangerous. End it today and allow God’s blessing to flow in your family. Leave your ego behind and obey God. Take your wife out, buy her a gift and apologize!

Go to your husband and kneel down and ask for forgiveness. It is not old fashioned; it is scripture!

Let go and let God! Let it be a beginning of a new day for you and yours! Let go of everybody you are holding in your mind. Burn your little black book of offences and stop recording hurts.

Delete them not only from your memory but from recycle bin as well. Guard your heart with all diligence for out of them are the issues of life.

May God help you and give you the strength to forgive all you need to forgive in Jesus name!

What You Need From Your Spouse This Year

What You Need From Your Spouse This Year

Reading Time: 2 minutes

This is a few days gone in the new year. What will happen at the end of this year starts now. Our everyday steps, moving in the positive direction are so important.

As couples, let us think ahead. Let’s have a projection of what we want to achieve in our marriage. We have to get certain principles right.

There are a lot of things we do consciously and unconsciously that frustrate our marriages and are detrimental to the bliss of our marital journey.

Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?Luk 14:31 [KJV]

As we begin a new year, we should sit down in retrospect and cast a vision for ourselves.

You need to ask yourself what exactly do I want from my spouse and marriage. Put it in one or two sentences; something you can put before God and aim at.

Also, know that it takes two to tango. Just as you have certain expectations from your spouse, your spouse too has expectations. Break those expectations into smaller bits and have a vision for this year.

For example, I want my spouse to be more Godly this year. Find out all you need to know about being godly. Let that be your focus. Your spouse can tell you they expect you to be more homely. Humbly, accept that and keep working towards it through the year.

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

Let each one of us be committed to doing what our spouse demands of us. Stay focused to this. Do all you can this year to become a better person!

Read books that will show you and help you be a better and happier person. Commit your ways into God’s hands and make sure you talk to God about this. Measure your progress weekly. Don’t get discouraged in your pursuit and don’t become critical of yourself or your spouse.

May God strengthen us!

God bless our marriages.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I will be a better version of myself this year

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Lord, help me to be a better spouse

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Luke 14:31 [ERV] “If a king is going to fight against another king, first he will sit down and plan. If he has only 10,000 men, he will try to decide if he is able to defeat the other king who has 20,000 men.

Knowing The Unchangeable God

Knowing The Unchangeable God

Reading Time: < 1 minute

People will often disappoint you in this world. There are things you expect them to do or not do that they will not do or do. You can’t expect people to always be the same. They are human like you and have to deal with so many things. But one person will never disappoint you. He is Jesus, the son of God. He is the unchangeable God. In the book of Hebrews, we see how Jesus remains the same forever.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”Hebrews 13:8

This verse is saying that before you were born, Jesus was loving and kind (yesterday), and He is still the same kind and loving person He was today, and that He will still remain loving and kind tomorrow and forever.

So, you can see how Jesus has remained the same all through generations. He was kind and loving to your great-grandparents, grandparents, and parents. He will be and is kind and loving towards you as He will be to your children.

Jesus will never change towards you. No matter the sin you commit as long as you ask for forgiveness and stop the sin.

Write this in your top thirty verses to know. Let this be a weapon to use when the enemy tries to tell you that Jesus will fail you. Tell him that your Jesus will never fail you.

May the Lord’s love continually surround you all the days of your life. Amen

Prayer:
Lord, Jesus, thank you for displaying your trustworthiness all through generations. I rest in Your reliability. Thank You.

Action Point:
Are you gradually losing focus? Retrace your steps right away.

Declaration:
I am consistent and focused.

The Right Response To Hurts And Disappointments – Part 2

The Right Response To Hurts And Disappointments – Part 2

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Continued from yesterday…

Now as you read this, I really want you to check yourself out. Are you holding a few people in your heart without forgiving them? Well, it could slow you down!

It could cause delays in marriages, it could cause relationships not to work out, and other havocs can be wrecked.

That’s why I tell people; don’t start another relationship immediately after one has just ended. Give yourself a break, at least, six months.

Why?

When you rush into another relationship with hurts, wounds, bitterness, and an unforgiving spirit, you will end up frustrating that other person and the relationship will still not work out. You cannot establish a relationship on a foundation of hurts, wounds, and bitterness!

When you stay in unforgiving mode, it’s like moving away from God’s protective arm into the terrain of the devil. A lot of us fast and pray fervently, but hear me and hear me well, if you don’t forgive, you will never be able to enjoy the fullness of God’s blessings.

I come to you this morning, by the Spirit of God and by His grace which He has endowed me with and I speak into your life and destiny, ‘Forgive!’

Yes, I know you are hurt! Yes, I know you were jilted. Yes, I know you were raped. Yes, I know you were defrauded. Yes, I know you were abandoned when it is just a few days to the wedding. Yes, I know there has been a divorce. Yes, I know you were cheated. Yes, I know you were wrongfully accused. Yes, I know your spouse cheated on you and manipulated you…and the list goes on.

But you cannot afford some bitterness. It is too expensive for you! You need God now, don’t you?

You yourself are not perfect, are you?

The only way God can overlook, forgive and forget your own imperfections and cause His mercy to avail for you is when you forgive that person.

How To Get It Right In The New Year – Part 2

How To Get It Right In The New Year – Part 2

Reading Time: 3 minutes

We started this instructive devotional yesterday. If we will be successful, get it right and gain speed in 2022, we need to take these points seriously.

Not striving to be super couples only slows us down. We move in circles and we achieve very little. Whereas, God’s intention for us is to multiply grace and do ten times our normal capacity.

We looked at the following yesterday:

1. Worship
2. Understand your spouse
3. Excellence

Today, we will continue from where we stopped.

4. Forgiveness

If you can’t forgive, don’t bother getting married. Forgiving in marriage is a compulsory course. You only slow yourselves down if you find it difficult to forgive.

Some couples hold their spouse and refuse to forgive because they feel their spouse doesn’t deserve the luxury of their forgiveness. They want to hold on to wrong because they feel they are punishing their spouse.

How humorous that is. I have always said it. Not forgiving is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die.  You cannot afford it.

Be like a duck that water doesn’t stay on its back. Let nonforgiveness fall off your back like a duck.

Deal with every form of hurt, malice, bitterness, strife et cetera. These are Satan’s most common arsenal.

Forgive because God says to forgive and trust God to reward you.

And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.Mat 18:34-35

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

5. Fun

Be fun-loving. Don’t be too serious. Have a child-like approach to life and cast all your care upon the Lord once and for all.

Casting your care is like throwing your care on God. Don’t pick it back, drop them and leave them with the Double-breasted one.

Laugh, make jest of yourselves, play like clowns, behave like little children, pull your husband beards, do funny faces, and so on. Be creative with fun. By all means, play.

I know you are busy, but out of no time, create time. If you were told if you don’t play, you will not live past 2 months, you will take playing seriously.

It takes away the boredom and monotony out of your marriage. It even helps you to forgive better. If you have to pray for God to make you playful, do. Some of us are not naturally playful. We need the Holy Spirit’s help.

Fun in marriage is not complete without doses of intercourse. Let it be regular, spontaneous, creative, and pleasurable.

6. Be the best

This is simply being your spouse’s best friend. Remember when you were younger, how you did with your best friend. Bring the same into your marriage.

Cherish your time with your spouse. Talk about everything with the exception of nothing. Talk, talk, talk, and listen, listen and listen. Be concerned and truly care from your heart.

Think of ways to outdo yourself in being kind.

Being the best spouse to your own husband or wife entails looking into your marriage and finding out the ingredients that are missing.

Remember, you cannot change your spouse. Love your spouse without trying to make him/her conform to your own standard. Who told you your standard is the best?

Best friends never attempt to change one another. At best, they seek to lovingly influence the other person.

Do the above things, and you will be on your way to becoming a super couple. It is the doer that God promises to be blessed in his ways. Don’t just read, be a doer.

God bless your marriage.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I get it right in my marriage.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Pray for the spirit of excellence

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Mat 6:33 [KJV] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

How To Have A Positive Mindset

How To Have A Positive Mindset

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Do you have a positive mindset? What do you say to yourself? The words you speak to or about yourself are very strong and important.

Do you say negative things about yourself? Do you bring yourself down in front of others?

The use of negative words like ” I am just not good with counting”, “I don’t have good legs”, ” My face is too ugly”, is a sign of negative self-esteem.

The bible says we are wonderfully and fearfully made in God’s image. That means you are made in God’s image. Made in the image of the Creator of the whole earth.

Why would you think you are ugly? Who told you so? Magazines? Slay queens? Public opinion? The mirror? Who? You?

Rather than look at all these external forces telling you what you are not, look towards the One who created you and start to see how He sees you.

Start using excellent and beautiful words on yourself. Raise your esteem with the word of God and walk in the light of those words.

God bless you. Amen

Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for how You made me. I am Your best creation. Your masterpiece.

Action plan:
Consciously use positive words on yourself daily. Affirm who you are in God and walk in that light.

Declaration:
My children speak well about themselves.

The Right Response To Hurts And Disappointments

The Right Response To Hurts And Disappointments

Reading Time: 2 minutes

I remember many years ago, as a young Christian, I was praying and trusting God for some things. God answered me very clearly and told me to forgive so and so.

Now, these people really hurt me, and I felt justified walking in an unforgiving spirit. But then God gave me two scriptures and said if I want to move forward in life, I have to forgive.

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” – (Romans 12:19 ESV)

The second scripture God gave me was:

To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ; Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices – (2 Corinthians 2:10-11 KJV)

I had to listen to God and it was only then I was able to move forward.

From the above scriptures, a few things are clear.

1. People will hurt you, as long as you are human and you are in the days of your flesh.

2. You will like to get even, born again or not.

3. Don’t get even; don’t avenge yourself.

4. God will avenge you, He will fight for you and that is when it is sweetest.

5. If you stay in unforgiving mode, Satan will use it as a loophole to cause havoc.

6. You are not to be ignorant of how the devil operates.

A third scripture I will like you to see is here:

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses – (Matthew 6:14-15 KJV)

Now, you don’t want to find yourself here. You don’t want to find yourself in a place where God will not forgive you.

And yet, the only way not to get there is to forgive people easily!

To be continued…

How To Get It Right In The New Year

How To Get It Right In The New Year

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Being a super couple, I have found out is all about getting it right Spirit, soul, and body. It is about being wholesome individually and extending it to yourselves as a couple.

As a believer, we know all things begin and end with God.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.Pro 4:7 [KJV]

God has to come first, then, He gives you the needed strength, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to be all that you can be in 2020 and beyond.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.Mat 6:33 [KJV]

1. Worship

God demands to be worshipped, and that is the starting point. Let us learn to give our waking moments to God in worship, seeking His help, and looking up to Him as the Almighty.

Worship God because He deserves to be worshipped.

Worship also entails studying your bible and praying. Form the habit of talking to God about every detail of your marriage. Put God first and all will fall in place.

2. Understand your spouse

Know how to press the mumu key of your spouse. Understand your spouse. Seek to learn and know your spouse. There are things he/she likes and does not like. Know what your spouse cannot resist.

For some husbands, it is jeru trip. For some, it is good food. Understand your spouse’s love language and temperament.

It is foolishness to want to spend the rest of your life with someone and you don’t take time to study them.

In 2022, tell yourself no more foolishness. Be tired of fighting to have your way. It is time to become mature. Sometimes, we need to stoop to conquer.

For example, if your spouse is choleric, you don’t do power tussle with them. A choleric wants to be in charge, a phlegmatic needs gentle persuasion, a sanguine needs fun and a melancholy needs their love tank always full. Understand these dynamics and you are on your way to success.

3. Excellence

No one can resist an excellent spouse. Be an excellent communicator, be an excellent friend and companion, be an excellent provider, excellent support, be excellent in bed, be an excellent cook, be a better organizer, don’t be haphazard with managing the home and children, be an excellent dresser and stop being an embarrassment to your spouse.

In being an excellent person, you may be required to go out of your comfort zone most of the time to learn. Be willing to change, improve and learn better ways of doing the same things you used to do.

God bless your marriage!

To be continued tomorrow by God’s Grace.

The Secret Of Great Men

The Secret Of Great Men

Reading Time: 2 minutes

What is the secret of great men? Fifteen-year-old Sola couldn’t believe his ears when the teacher announced the date for the test. Just two days away and he hadn’t studied at all. This was unfair. Why would the teacher do so? There was no way he could study for and pass the test in just two days.

He swung into action and began to read and study his lessons. Something gnawed inside him. A voice kept telling him to pray. Pray?

Situations can be unfair to you sometimes. They could be sudden like it was for Sola or not. It’s what you do immediately that counts a lot.

Cry and host a pity party? Look for others like you and host a mega pity party? Or do you immediately swing into action and start preparing for that test or looking for ways to handle the situation?

Yes, it’s good to swing into action instantly and start resolving that issue. Yet, just like Sola felt that gnawing feeling inside of him to pray, you should also listen to the voice telling you to pray. Praying doesn’t mean you won’t do anything. Neither is it magic.

Making prayer your first action when faced with a sudden or not difficult situation, is a very healthy thing to do as a Christian. It means you are asking for God’s help concerning that situation. God won’t come down to help you do it, rather, He will show you how to go about it effectively. He will help you save time, effort, and resources.

Jer. 33:3 (AMP) ‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.’

Think of it as you wanting to take something from the top of a fridge but your hands can’t reach up to it. What do you do? You either get something to stand on so you can reach up or call someone taller than you to get it for you.

Praying to God is that something you stand on or that person you call. He helps you reach the height so you can take what you want – deal with that situation.

Stay strong in the Lord.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to always call on you in times of trouble rather than worry my little head off in Jesus name. Amen

Action point:
When next you want to cry “unfair” about something, why not pray to God first?

Declaration:
I engage the force of prayer at all times.
