What God Does Not Want From You As A Wife – Part 2

What God Does Not Want From You As A Wife – Part 2

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Continued from yesterday

2. He does not want you to place your work/career before your family.

You should never make that mistake. Your family comes first and the wife is really the homemaker. If you do not put priority on your home, you make your husband vulnerable and make the children grow in a defective way.

While it is good to pursue your career, your family must come first. Too many women have pursued their career at the expense of losing their husbands and children. The key here is balance.

3. He does not want you to live a life of depression and unhappiness.

God wants you to be a happy wife! He wants you to create an atmosphere of joy in the home and not that of gloominess and despondency.  A woman can literally change the mood in the house! That is how powerful women are.

Take it easy. Be humorous. Learn to relax and don’t be too closed up in your own worldview.

A cheerful heart brings a smile to your face; a sad heart makes it hard to get through the day. (Pro 15:13 MSG)

4. He does not want you to get involved with adulterous relationships.

Don’t try to revenge on your husband’s attitude by developing affairs with colleagues and friends. It may make your flesh feel good in revenge, but in the real sense of it, it will bring untold anguish and heartache. Your life will slip down to that of deception, lies, and other false intrigues.

The conscience can become seared until one sees nothing wrong in having adulterous flings just to feel good and ‘enjoy life”. Don’t cheat on your husband, the consequences are debilitating and crushing. Adultery is a stolen pleasure and the spiritual implications are not good for anybody.

Stolen bread tastes sweet, but soon your mouth is full of gravel. (Pro 20:17 MSG)

The Family Altar And Your Marriage

The Family Altar And Your Marriage

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Family Altar And Your Marriage. You can have the eyes of the Lord upon you as a family and leave His presence with the assurance that He is around you.

The eyes of the Lord cannot be upon you and you not have His presence. His presence is all you need in this life. His presence is the carrier of His glory, His wisdom, His beauty, His intelligence, His understanding, and all of His personality.

His presence gives all-round victory.

The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. – Psa 34:15

There is an assurance that comes to you as you gather together as a family to call upon the Lord. That’s one of the reasons the family altar or devotion is very important.

In my family, we didn’t use to have family devotion before. We all woke up at different times and had our prayers separately. My husband was busy with our online ministry and had a different waking time. He was so busy that at times he will be up from 3 am and wouldn’t leave his desk until 9 am or 10 am.

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

Thank God things have since changed and now our day does not start without our family devotion, where we pray, take daily confessions, and read the Bible.

During our family devotion this morning, I learnt that the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears open to their cry. When we come together as a family, the Lord’s presence is with us. He sees us and He is there. Our gathering together is not a waste of time or religion.

We come together as a family and are confident that He is with us and that His eyes and ears are present with our family. We approach our altar with this attitude.

We also leave our family altar with confidence and assurance that God is with us.  We know that we are not alone as we go about our daily activities. Whatever we face in the course of the day, we know He is with us. We rejoice all day knowing that He has got our backs.

God bless your marriage.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I know that God is with me as I go out today.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Pray for the grace to always stay faithful to your family’s devotion

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

This Is Why You Should Keep Celebrating In Marriage

This Is Why You Should Keep Celebrating In Marriage

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Celebration is the source of life and joy. Keep Celebrating. If you want to experience constant life and joy in marriage, learn to celebrate. Let there be a constant feast in your marriage.

By feast, I don’t mean a party. It is more of the condition of the heart than it is a physical thing.

All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast. – Pro 15:15

All forms of moodiness and gloominess are not meant to be allowed in your home. You have to learn to disallow certain things in your home and family. You allow joy and happiness.

Celebration is something you practice consciously. You make it a habit in your family. There are a lot of opportunities to celebrate that God brings our way. We should seize these opportunities.

Celebration puts us in faith. Abraham celebrated God by giving glory to God even when the covenant child was not even born. His celebration kept his faith alive.

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

When you learn to celebrate, you acknowledge God as the source of your very life. You recognize God as the Lord over your marriage.

There are several opportunities in which we have to be sensitive to celebrate. Some people in a bid to appear humble say to celebrate is not to be sober like the Bible says. But the same bible says we should rejoice and again it says we should rejoice.

To celebrate is to be thankful and grateful. Celebrate every of your birthday. Celebrate the life and the lives of all those around you. Be grateful to God for victory and sparing your life. Many have been laid aside, so be grateful and celebrate life.

Celebrate your children. Celebrate your husband. Celebrate events. Create memorials. Celebrate the beginning of the term for your children. Celebrate the end of term. Celebrate anniversaries, Christmas, holidays. Look into each and find out what to celebrate.

Make things special. Make every dinner and lunch a memorable one. Let your spouse and children have sweet memories. Celebrate your pastors, your boss. Celebrate your parents, your siblings, celebrate everything and anything.

As you celebrate, you will have more reasons to celebrate.

God bless your marriage

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I choose to celebrate at every opportunity I get.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Lord, teach me how to love my husband/wife well

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Eph 5:25 [KJV]Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Rebuking The Devourer As A Family

Rebuking The Devourer As A Family

Reading Time: 2 minutes

A devourer is anything that eats up greedily or a voracious eater. It can also be defined as anything that consumes for nourishment. Devourer is used in the Bible to describe anything that seeks to steal, kill and destroy. It particularly seeks to waste resources, years, food, time, and anything of benefit.

Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer [insects and plagues] for your sakes and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground, neither shall your vine drop its fruit before the time in the field, says the Lord of hosts. – Mal 3:10-11

The antidote for rebuking the devourer according to the Bible is paying of tithes. The Devourer is to be rebuked, not cried over or ignored but rebuked. Your tithe forms a basis and gives you a voice to effectively rebuke the devourer.

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

Non-payment of tithe gives the devourer the license to devour anything valuable to you, from your health, children, marriage, finances, time, relationships, career, opportunities, to peace of mind.

Some people argue about the tithe. Some even say it is an Old Testament law that should not be obeyed. There are different arguments about the issue of tithing, especially on social media.

One thing is sure. If you are a faithful tither, the blessing you enjoy from it will not make you want to stop paying it. Your tithe is the first 10% of any income that comes your way and God commands us to pay it as a sign of honor to him.

You pay your tithe by being in awe and reverence of God, you do it first thing when you receive the income. That is honor.

When we put and keep our faith alive in the covenant of tithing, we set in motion the protective power of God in staying the hands of the enemy to waste or destroy from us.

You rebuke the devourer by speaking boldly and commanding the devourer to take its hands off everything you hold dear. You command sicknesses and diseases not to come near your abode.

Is it that we are paying God so that we don’t experience the devourer? Not exactly! It is a covenant principle and covenant practice. You do your human part and then God does His part.

As we obey this instruction, may God hear us in the day of trouble, and may the name of the God of Israel defend us in Jesus name.

God bless our marriages

CONFESSION OF THE DAY
We rebuke every devourer over our finances

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Oh Lord, I rebuke the devourer over my health

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Mal 3:11 [BBE]And on your account I will keep back the locusts from wasting the fruits of your land; and the fruit of your vine will not be dropped on the field before its time, says the Lord of armies

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY
Declare God’s promises over your life

The Fruit Of The Spirit And You – Part 2

The Fruit Of The Spirit And You – Part 2

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The first fruit of the Spirit is love.

But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control; and here there is no conflict with Jewish laws. – Gal 5:22-23 [TLB]

What is love?

As Christians, we are guided by what the bible says. So let’s find out what the bible says about love.

My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love — so you can’t know him if you don’t love. – 1 John 4:7-8

The scripture above tells us that love comes from God. Love doesn’t come from the movies, from friends, from family members, but from God.

Does that mean my family members cannot show me love? The answer is right there.

The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love — so you can’t know him if you don’t love. – 1 John 4:8

Before you can show love to anybody, you have to have a relationship with Love Himself. You have to know God and who He is.

So when you see someone acting in an awkward manner, or does not display attributes of a believer, rather than write him or her off, extend an arm of fellowship to such a person. Tell him or her about love. Invite such a person to Christ and see the wonders that will become of him/her in the nearest future.

I pray God will help you to show love everywhere you find yourself, Amen.

Prayer:
Lord, teach me how to be a love being.

Action point:
Show love to all around you

Declaration:
I am a person of love, just like my God
