Consistency In Prayer – Apostle Arome Osayi Part 1
In our devotionals, we will be bringing to you words from men of God that is blessing the body of Christ. Today, we look at one of the messages of Apostle Arome Osayi. Be blessed.
In the heart of Benue State, nestled amidst the wilderness of a remote city, a group of young believers gathered on a university campus, experiencing an extraordinary encounter with the divine. It was here, far removed from the glamor of city life, that the Lord spoke, heralding a mighty move of the Spirit that would sweep through the terrain, altering the course of history for the community and its people. This is a story of prophecy, faith, and the indomitable power of God, a narrative that unfolds the layers of divine timing, authority, and the manifestation of God’s kingdom on Earth.
The Prophetic Onset
Among us was a lady, profoundly gifted in prophecy, whose utterances were both a mystery and a revelation. She spoke of things so intimate and hidden that only a divine whisper could have unveiled them. Her prophecies were clear: a significant movement led by the youth was on the horizon, a movement that would challenge the dark forces entrenched in the land and usher in a new era for Christianity in the region.
This land, long surrendered to witchcraft and necromancy, was about to witness an extraordinary shift. Ministers of the gospel had fallen prey to the sinister shadows that lurked, their promising ministries cut short by unexplained tragedies. It was a cycle of spiritual resurgence and suppression, with each loss plunging the community deeper into despair.
The Importance of Consistency
Amidst this struggle, our prayer group on campus embraced a motto that underscored the essence of our fight: “In consistency lies the power.” We had witnessed firsthand the darkness that descended upon the land following the demise of a minister, a darkness so thick, it stifled hope and dimmed the light of faith.
The recurring cycles of death on campus, the wavering faith of many, and the challenge to the gospel’s credibility in the face of tragedy posed questions too profound for any human answer. It was in these moments of utter helplessness that we learned the hard truth about divine timing and authority.
Understanding Divine Timing and Authority
The Lord’s response to our cries and intercessions was a lesson in humility and trust. He revealed that the chronos and kairos—times and seasons—are under His sovereign authority. This revelation shifted our perspective on prayer and the will of God. Despite our fervent prayers and acts of faith, we understood that God’s plans are not subject to our timelines or expectations.
This Must Be Present in Every Marriage. A lot of things must be implemented for a marriage to succeed.
Conscious and deliberate inputs must be in place so the marriage can bring bliss and not blisters.
Here is one of them
Prayers. This Must Be Present in Every Marriage.
A family that prays together stays together.
A husband and wife that pray together will overcome the flesh easily.
Prayer protects, shields, and connects you to your inheritance in God.
As husband and wife, pray for one another rather than tear one another apart.
Intercede for each other.
What the devil wants is a tearing apart, do not cooperate with him.
Wake up in the middle of the night and pray together.
The power of agreement is better harnessed as a couple.
In the first few years of our marriage, my wife and I would wake up by 12.00 am and pray in the Spirit.
I am persuaded that those prayers advanced our lives and ministries.
There is a purpose for coming together in marriage.
It is not just for making love and then dying at the age of ninety.
There is a purpose in the heart of God.
That purpose is not to be decided, it is to be discovered.
When you discover that purpose, you just stepped into your wealthy place.
You can only discover in the place of prayers.
The devil will do all he knows to make sure you don’t pray.
You will notice that each time you decide to pray, something else will interrupt it. Those are not natural. The devil doesn’t want you to pray at all. Prayer-less couples will leave so many cracks and loopholes open for the devil to explore.
The devil will not access your marriage. Your marriage will be preserved in Jesus’ name!
Do not let anything interfere with your prayer times. May God help you and your spouse in Jesus’ name
Be blessed!

Do you know you can be specific in the place of prayers? Yes, you can. Let’s take a look at the story of Ade. Ade mentioned his prayers to his mum as they drove home from school.
‘God should help me in my coming school examinations,’ Ade said.
‘That’s an empty prayer request,’ she said. ‘Be specific about what grades you want in each subject’
Ade wondered why he should. God said His plans for us are good. God should know what grades to give him.
‘It is good to be specific in your prayer requests to God,’ she said further.
Mum is right. Imagine if the blind man in yesterday’s story (Luke 18:40-41) asked for blessings?
The question is, what exact blessing did he need right then? What was the most important thing he needed? To see. And how did Jesus reply? Jesus said, “Jesus said to him, Then see! You are healed because you believed.”
Being specific aids your expectations regarding your wants. You have a view of the expected results in your mind and expect nothing less.
So, stop saying vague prayers and tell God exactly what you want. The blind man got what he wanted.
At once the man was able to see,… – Luke 18:43 (ICB)
Let’s look at this short story about Bimpe, as we seek to understand the God that answers prayers. Bimpe ensured that everyone around her felt her sadness and displeasure. She sighed sadly, squeezed her face, hissed many times, kept a low profile and didn’t give much attention when spoken to.
God had not answered her prayers. This was like the hundredth time she had asked for Sola, her friend, who was failing miserably at school. Her last test score was poor and the rest of the class made fun of her when the teacher announced the scores.
Wasn’t God supposed to answer prayers? Wasn’t He the All-Powerful and Great God? The All-Knowing, All-Seeing and All-Doing God? She couldn’t help but wonder why God didn’t want Sola to do well at school.
‘You have been sighing and frowning since you came back from school and all morning too,’ her mother said to her later that day. ‘What’s going on with you? Care to share?’
‘It’s God,’ Bimpe replied.
‘What about God?’
‘He didn’t answer my prayer.’
‘What have you been praying for?’
‘I have been asking Him to help Sola pass her exams and tests at school.’
‘And how do you know so?’ her mother asked again.
‘She failed the test again yesterday. Doesn’t God answer prayers anymore?’
‘Of course, He still answers prayers and will always do so.’
Her mother wondered why she would ask such a question.
Then why hasn’t He answered my prayers? Why is Sola still failing her tests?’
‘Is she studying as she should? Does she listen in class and understand her lessons?’
‘She does, mum. She sits beside me in class.’
‘Have you tried asking her what the problem is and maybe help her study after school?’
Bimpe paused and thought about this. She had never asked Sola that. ‘No, mommy. I have never asked her what the problem was.’
‘There goes your answered prayer.’
Have you ever felt like Bimpe? Apart from praying for someone, you can always ask them what the problem is and see if you can help. That can be your answered prayers sometimes.
