Hello dear, it’s another time to learn from God’s word.
Today I will be talking to you about Joy and Peace.
I know they are two familiar words, but let me help your memory by giving a simple definition.
Joy is a great feeling of happiness or pleasure; delight.
Peace on the other hand is a state of calmness and order.
These are two amazing things to have all at once.
It’s one of the prayers that can be found in the Bible. A prayer that we as God’s children be filled with Joy and Peace all at once and at the same time.
Let me show you what the Bible says;
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.—Romans 15:13 (NIV)
There is a lot said in this bible verse, let’s pick them one after the other.
God has the capacity to fill you and I with Joy and Peace, if it were not so, we won’t find the request in the bible.
Another thing this verse says is that being filled with Joy and Peace happens as a result of trusting in God. Believing in Jesus his son is a fundamental aspect of this process.
Then it says so that you may overflow with hope. The word overflow means to have something to the extent that it begins to pour out. Like filling a cup with water so much that it begins to pour out.
So the bible is saying it’s possible for you to overflow with hope, overflow with an assurance that God always has your back.
Let’s look at another translation.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises. —Romans 15:13 (AMP)
I like how this translation ends it by saying we overflow with the confidence of God’s promises for us.
As God’s child, what has he promised you? Be confident in what he has said and it will surely come to pass.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:3 KJV)
Here are ten things that God’s word will do for you.
1. God’s word will clean up your past
It doesn’t matter what your past looked like, the word of God, anointed in and of itself, will wipe the slate clean for you! It is almost unbelievable and incredible to the human mind, but in one stroke of sacrifice, Jesus paid the price on your behalf. The past should never hold you to ransom again. You have been made free. The mistakes of yester-years can no longer bear its fangs at you today!
2. God’s word will birth hope for your future
After your past is forgiven and forgotten, the same word of God will birth hope in you. This hope is a necessary ingredient to help you receive the fullness of God. All of a sudden, light dawns on your heart and hope comes alive, that it is not over, after all.
3. God’s word will produce faith in your heart to conquer the world.
Faith comes by hearing God’s word. As you hear and read more of God’s word, faith will rise in you. Why is faith so important? It is with faith that you will wrought victory in God!
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4 KJV)
See it in Message Translation:
Every God–begotten person conquers the world’s ways. The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is our faith. (1 John 5:4 Message)
Did you see that? Faith that comes through God’s word has the power to bring the world and its systems to its knees! Glory to God!

By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. – Rom 5:2
Your faith is what gives you access to His empowering and sustaining grace. Do not for any reason slide into unbelief. Stay strong in God.
Your wedding will come soon.
Do not lose faith!
That baby is coming! Do not lose faith!
Stay in the word to keep your faith strong always
Faith calls those things which be not as though they are. Faith does deny the fact but superimposes the truth upon facts. And you know what, truth is superior to fact.
Your faith will move mountains. With faith, you will please God and you can get anything done!
5. Refuse to stop giving
Finally, do not stop giving. This is important.
When you stop giving, you tamper with your harvest.
Every time God asks you to give, He has a harvest in mind.
Be faithful in tithing, first-fruit offerings, love offerings, honouring your man of God, giving to the poor, kingdom investments, and partnering with a God-given vision.
Giving is a covenant connector. Giving shows money does not have you. Giving demonstrate your heart for God
All these levels of giving have covenant purposes they fulfill in your life.
Wherever your money is not involved, your heart is not there.
There are sacrificial givings that render curses and everlasting problems irrelevant!
Your refusal to stop giving has something to do with your harvesting on a constant basis.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. – Galatians 6:9 (KJV)

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Put what you’ve learnt into use
We all have seeds to sow into our marriage. It is a fact that we all do not have seeds like money, for example, to sow into our marriage but we all have ‘time and words’ to sow into our marriage. No one is left without seeds. Everyone can always change their marriage for the better.
1. The seed of kind actions
You married your spouse because you at least liked who they were as a person. There must have been at least one thing you admired about your spouse. We all have the capacity to do kind things to and for our spouses. Those kinds of actions are not ordinary. They are the seeds God has given us to deploy in our marriages.
I Cor13:4-13 talks about the attributes of love and the fact that love never fails. If your spouse is behaving in a selfish manner, you choose to put the power of the seed to use and influence your marriage in a positive way.
Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting. – 1 Cor 13:7 [CEV]
A miracle happens when we sow our God-given seed. But remember, our seed is only powerful when it is sown. So be a seed sower in your marriage. See your kind actions not as mere actions but as your seed and your God-given influence over your marriage.
2. The seed of Prayers
Another seed we have is our ability to pray. If we viewed prayers as receiving help from God, it will help us to stay committed to the power in prayer.
Prayer is going to the throne of Grace to obtain help.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. – Heb 4:16 [KJV]
We all need help at one time or another in our marital journey.

There are times we just don’t seem to be able to hold on any longer or we don’t just seem to know what more to do. When we pray, we bring God into our situation. God answers us in different ways. He may not answer us the way we want to be answered, but we have His promise to answer us.
He may give us the wisdom to handle the situation, patience to hold on, or strength of character to do what is right.
There are such untapped powers in our prayers especially if it is for our marriage.
3. The Seed of Hope
Our hoping for the best and not giving up on our marriage or spouse is important. This is the power that holds all other seeds we have or decide to sow together.
We have hope, and that is why we can sow whatever seed we have. Not giving up on your spouse is needed.
God wants to see our hope alive. So whatever we do, let us not forget to always keep our hope alive. God can restore the most difficult marriage. God can intervene and give us a miracle but we have to keep hope alive.
Let us keep sowing our seeds and know that we will reap a rich harvest if we faint not.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. – Gal 6:9 [KJV]
God bless our marriages.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I sow the right seeds into my marriage.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Oh God, help me to sow the right seeds into my marriage
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY 1 Cor 13:7 [CEV] Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting.
There’s how to give hope to others using words. Words are strong tools that have an enormous strength to give hope to others. They can uplift somebody out of a bad situation.
Words are powerful. When a baby grows to a certain age, he/she is expected to start saying words, no matter how incoherent.
A classmate could be going through hard times at home and your words can give him hope. All the person might need could just be a “Your handwriting is cool”, “I like your shoes”, or “You are pretty”.
Prov 13:12 (NLT) Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.
You don’t know how far your words can go in giving hope to someone who feels like nobody cares or sees him.
Another thing you need to know about words is that words are spirits. Since we know spirits don’t die, then words don’t die as well.
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
John 6:63 (KJV)
So the words you say today will go a long way to determine how your tomorrow will turn out to be.
Be a beacon of hope today. Use your words to raise up someone’s spirit. Give them hope that God loves them no matter what. Make your words count.
