Jesus is one important person you cannot help but study about. Studying about Jesus is important, and the bible talks about Him all through from the start to the end.
You could start from the prophecies about Him, His conception, birth, death, and resurrection. These are key aspects of His life that will definitely benefit and bless your life.
Study what He did, how He did it, where He did it and why He did it. It’s a wonderful thing to study about Jesus. His whole being and existence is the bedrock of salvation.
And as you study, ask Him to bless you with a revelation about Him. Amen.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, give me more revelation about you. Help me know you more. Amen.
Action point: Take yourtime to study about Christ.
Declaration: As I study, there is illumination on my path.

The issue above is one of the commonest statements of regret from the hundreds of people that I counsel.
“Pastor, he has changed…”
“Pastor, I never knew he was like this…”
“Pastor, before we got married, he was a leader in the fellowship, but now, he doesn’t go to church…”
“Pastor, during our courtship, he was so sweet, but now, he beats me up!
“Pastor, I never knew him because our courtship was a distant one…”
…And so on and so forth…
Well, what went wrong along the way?
Here are a few things to note.
1. There are pretenders out there.
There are people who will feign being in the faith just to get a ‘good’ girl that will not give them ‘problems’ in marriage. This is where Christian pre-marriage counseling comes in.
2. That you met somebody in church does not guarantee that he or she is a true child of God.
Anybody and everybody can attend church services for different purposes. Always seek counsel before you get involved with anybody.
3. Not everybody in the church setting is looking for God.
That is why phones and personal effects get missing in church. An angel didn’t steal them. They were stolen by people with whom you worship but with ulterior motives.
4. Let the leadership of the church be involved in your relationship and marriage.
There are some churches that have marriage guidance councils, these are not instituted to control you or spy into your private life but to guide you appropriately. Let your pastor be in the know. This is important because the pastor usually knows the committed ones and those who are insincere to an extent.
5. Learn all you can learn.

To be continued tomorrow…
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I will not miss it in marriage.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, help me to trust you.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
There are a thousand and one articles on what to do in marriage, and sometimes we are running to keep up.
At times, our roles as husband and wives are so complicated and sometimes we get confused and mix things up. We minor in the major and major on the minor.
I was also running this race to meet up and catch up with what I should be doing as a wife early in our marriage.
I discovered that every one of those articles had a core message. We could have 100 topics on marriage but the core message they are passing across is the same.
For example, we have articles that talk about dressing well for your husbands, how to cook, communicating well in such a way that shows true friendship, husbands treating your wife well, taking her out, remembering her birthday and buying her gifts, understanding each other’s temperament, and many more.
The Bible remains our marriage manual. Each of us should take his/her portion and run with it. We should pursue our role, not minding whether the other person takes up the challenge of his/her responsibility.

I believe if husbands and wives can be committed to this, we will have fewer problems in our marriage.
Our manual as couples is in Eph 5:22- 26. Emphasis on verses 22 &23 for wives and for husbands verses 24-26
For wives, this means being supportive to your husbands like you are tenderly devoted to our Lord, for the husband provides leadership for the wife, just as Christ provides leadership for his church, as the Savior and Reviver of the body. In the same way the church is devoted to Christ, let the wives be devoted to their husbands in everything. And to the husbands, you are to demonstrate love for your wives with the same tender devotion that Christ demonstrated to us, his bride. For he died for us, sacrificing himself to make us holy and pure, cleansing us through the showering of the pure water of the Word of God. – Ephesians 5:22-26
In summary, wives should be supportive to their husbands and husbands are to demonstrate love to their wives with the same tender devotion that Christ demonstrated to us.
Now, every couple is to take this and fit it into their own marriage. Find creative ways you can show your support to your husbands as wives. Husbands, love your wives tenderly.
Meditate on these verses and begin to function in your roles. God bless your marriage.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I choose to go with the manual.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, help us to follow the manual
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Eph 5:22 For wives, this means being supportive to your husbands like you are tenderly devoted to our Lord.
What do you say to yourself? Are you speaking good? The words you speak to or about yourself are very strong and important.
Do you say negative things about yourself? Do you bring yourself down in front of others?
The use of negative words like ” I am just not good with counting”, “I don’t have good legs”, ” My face is too ugly”, is a sign of negative self-esteem.
The bible says we are wonderfully and fearfully made in God’s image. That means you are made in God’s image. Made in the image of the Creator of the whole earth.
Why would you think you are ugly? Who told you so? Magazines? Slay queens? Public opinion? The mirror? Who? You?
Rather than look at all these external forces telling you what you are not, look towards the One who created you and start to see how He sees you.
Start using excellent and beautiful words on yourself. Raise your esteem with the word of God and walk in the light of those words.
