What It Means To Please God was taught by Rev. Dunamis Okunowo on the 12th of September 2021 at Shouts of Grace Center, Joke Plaza, Beside Trans Amusement Park, Bodija-UI Road, Ibadan.
In his teaching, Rev. Dunamis made mention of the following important points:
Anchor Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:1-12
Everything repeats; there’s really nothing new under the sun. You must therefore seek to learn from the experiences of other people.
You can overcome whatever comes your way. There is no custom-made problem or affliction.
When you isolate yourself, you stay in desolation.
Anything that is a departure from what God asked you to do is evil.
Everybody is an influence, directly or indirectly, in their environment, family, church, office, etc. You are influencing people on a regular basis – people are admiring you; you desire to be like you. So you must live a life that is well pleasing to God.
Whatever you prioritize over God is your idol. Therefore anything can become your idol; it can be music, relationship, your spouse, job, ministry, food, sex, phone, etc.
You are not meant to love anything above the LORD, even your spouse.
Beware of the following, for God is displeased with them:
Lusting after evil
Idolatry
Tempting Christ: Living in habitual sin and still operating in the anointing. You preach against the very things you do.
Fornication
Murmuring
Discontentment
Murmuring can lead to death. You can be so involved in activities – looking so spiritual, singing, instrumentation, preaching, cleaning the church, ushering, etc. – and God may not be pleased with you. Is God please with you?

Prayer Points
1. Go ahead and thank God for the thirteenth day of the fast.
2. Begin to pray that you will not raise strange children in your life.
3. Pray specifically for your sons now; that they will grow as sturdy plants, whose roots go down and fruits abound up.
4. Begin to pray that your daughters are set as corner stones, radiating a beauty inside and outside..
5. Begin to pray that your stores will be full with different currencies.
6. Pray for continuous productivity over the work of your hands.
7. Begin to pray for strength to do all that God instructs you to do.
8. Begin to activate the covenant of protection over your life and family.
9. Bring your personal requests to God right now.
10. Go ahead and begin to thank the Lord.
Confession For Today
September To Remember – Day 13
n the name of Jesus, I am delivered from strange children. I will not be surrounded by strange children. I am surrounded with the right set of people.
I will not be a strange child. I will not be a source of sorrow to my spiritual and biological parents. I am growing in wisdom and stature. I will not have a stunted spiritual or financial growth. In blessing, God is blessing me. God is placing in my hands, what is in my heart to do. I am bringing forth thousands upon thousands. Increase is my portion.
I receive strength for this period of waiting. I receive grace not to murmur or complain. I declare, there shall be no loss whatsoever in Jesus mighty name, amen.

Betty has been praying to God for the right man for a few years. Her expectation of her prayers being answered had driven her into some relationships that never worked out. You know how you had prayed and then the next person that showed up seemed like the right person, only for the person to heavily disappoint. Betty wasn’t happy at all. On some days, she would wake up with depression. At other times, she would think something was wrong with her.
What could be wrong with Betty?
There are those seasons in life that it looked like prayers are not working. At such times, it looked like prayers are bouncing off the ceiling back at you. At such other times, it might look like God has gone on holiday to the Bahamas.
It looked like your prayers to settle down in a marital relationship is being ignored. You were serving God in all ways you could and yet others who were not “serious” with God seemed to get their suitors and settle down quickly.
What exactly is happening?
Does God really forget someone? And if He does, should it be me?
Let’s take a look at the scriptures:
But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
Isa 49:14-15 (KJV)
The truth is clear here. God will never forget you. He has you in mind. It may look late, but it will eventually be the latest.
It may look like it’s taking long, but God will cause all thing to work out together for you. Keep trusting, keep believing and rest in the assurance that He has not forgotten you!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Isa 49:15 (MSG) “Can a mother forget the infant at her breast, walk away from the baby she bore? But even if mothers forget, I’d never forget you — never.
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Refuse to be bitter or angry.
This morning, I bring you a word from the Lord. It’s a three-pronged blessing for you! Receive those prophetic words and believe them for you and your family. Every time God wants to bless you, He sends His word. Get ready to receive those words this morning!
Here is the first one:
1. The Blessing of your Progeny
That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:
Psa 144:12 (KJV)
Your sons and daughters are going to be blessed. They will not be cut short in the midst of their days. They will be healthy. They will grow up in their prime. Your daughter will be as cornerstones, that is polished.
They will not be troublesome or be strange children.
2. The Blessing Of Provision
That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:
Psa 144:13 (KJV)
You will not lack. Insufficiency will not be your ally. Your garners will be full. There will be an increase and constant supply. Everything you lay your hands upon, you will prosper therein. This week, God will initiate a non-ending event that will translate into a long-lasting provision for you in Jesus name.
3. The Blessing of Protection
That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.
Psa 144:14 (KJV)
You will be shielded. No evil will befall you. God will surround you. Even in this time of insecurity that pervades our milieu, God will protect and shield you. You will not be a victim of the times. He will make you a victor at all times. Victory will be your portion at all times.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY Pray those words into your family.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Ps 144:12(MSG) Make our sons in their prime like sturdy oak trees, Our daughters as shapely and bright as fields of wildflowers.
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Pray those words into your marriage
The word guides. The word guards the heart. Now the heart is perhaps the most important part of the human body. An anomaly in the heart is not what anyone prays for. May our heart not pack up in Jesus name.
Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
Proverbs 4:23 AMP
One way to safe guard our heart is to carefully sieve what we allow inside and one way this can be done is through the word. The word guides and guards.
Parents, let’s teach our children the word of God always. The word of God should always serve as a guide for us to follow.
The above scripture shows how important it is for us to guard our hearts. You cannot just allow anything into your heart.
Children, what does that mean? Do you know thoughts are very powerful? That is why we must ensure that we always think about positive things. And the word guides you to think positive thoughts.
That’s why the scriptures says in
Finally, my friends, keep your minds on whatever is true, pure, right, holy, friendly, and proper. Don’t ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile and worthy of praise.
Phil 4:8 (CEV)
This verse gives us a list of what to think about. So when next you are catch yourself wondering in thoughts or thinking about anything, check if it fits in the above description of what we are expected to be thinking about.
Children, ensure you always read the word of God and make it your guide. The word guides! Think about the promises of God in His words.
Prayer for children: My children receive grace to always study the word of God.
Prayer for parents: Lord, please help us to teach our children your word always, in Jesus Name. Amen
Declaration: The word of God dwells richly in the hearts of my children always. The word guides my children.
