In the vastness of life’s challenges, it can be easy to feel small and insignificant. The storms of uncertainty, pain, or fear may rage around us, threatening to overwhelm our faith. But in those moments, we must remember this profound truth: God stands on His throne—for you.
The Bible reminds us repeatedly of God’s sovereignty. Psalm 47:8 declares, “God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.” This image of God seated on His throne isn’t just about authority—it’s about presence. It tells us that no matter how chaotic life becomes, God remains steadfast, watching over His creation with unwavering love and purpose. And when He rises from His throne? That’s when miracles happen.
Consider the story of Joshua at Jericho (Joshua 6). As the Israelites faced an impenetrable city wall, God gave them specific instructions: march around the walls for six days, then on the seventh day, shout as the priests blow their trumpets. When they obeyed, something extraordinary happened—the walls came tumbling down. Why? Because God acted on behalf of His people. At that moment, it was as if He stepped forward from His throne, saying, “I see your obedience, I hear your cries, and I will fight for you.”
God does the same for us today. When we face obstacles too big for us to overcome alone—whether it’s financial hardship, broken relationships, health struggles, or spiritual battles—we can trust that God sees us. He hears our prayers, and He is not idle. Just as He stood for Joshua and the Israelites, He will stand for you.
But here’s the key: we must position ourselves to receive His intervention. Like Joshua, we are called to act in faith, even when the way seems impossible. Faith doesn’t mean having all the answers; it means trusting that God is who He says He is—a loving Father who fights for His children. When we surrender our fears and step out in obedience, we make room for God to move powerfully in our lives.
So, take heart. No matter what you’re facing, God has not abandoned you. He stands on His throne, ready to rise up and work on your behalf. Trust Him. Follow His lead. And watch as He turns your impossibilities into testimonies of His grace and glory.
In every storm, declare this promise: “The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress” (Psalm 46:7). For when God stands on His throne for you, nothing can stand against you.
Where you place your trust and who you trust matters significantly. It plays a crucial role in determining whether the “trust” will ultimately save you or not.
Men put their trust in different things and sources. But I love what the Bible says,
Psa 20:7-8 (KJV) Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. [8] They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
We are unlike those who rely on chariots or horses, but rather we will remember the name of our Lord, our God. In essence, our trust lies in the name of the Lord!
Isn’t that powerful?
That verse says they will be defeated, but because our trust is not in chariots or horses, but in the name of the Lord, we will rise and stand upright!
I can place my complete trust in Him in every aspect of my life, including relationships, weddings, marriage, jobs, careers, business, ministry, and all other areas.
Why should I place my trust in the name of the Lord? What is the assurance?
Let’s examine this.
Psa 28:7-8 (AMPC) The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him. [8] The Lord is their [unyielding] Strength, and He is the Stronghold of salvation to [me] His anointed.
Wow! According to the scripture above, that strength is impenetrable and unyielding. Moreover, the scripture states that because I trust in Him, I am helped!
This year, God will indeed help you!
So much so that your heart will rejoice greatly!
You will praise Him in your songs because of the benefits you will accrue from trusting Him!
I intend to share with you one of the scriptures that God revealed to me as a young Christian this morning.
Praying this scripture opened me up to the supernatural. As if the curtains of the heavens were drawn, I became aware of many things, including His direction for my life and His specific desires for me at each moment.
Here is the scripture.
Jer 33:3 (KJV) Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
You know what I love about this? It’s the fact that God promised to answer your prayers immediately, without any delay.
Call upon me, and I will answer you…
Notice that He didn’t promise to fulfill your request, but He simply said He would answer your call!
He will respond! How will he respond?
He is going to reveal things to you!
Great Things! Mighty Things!
Which you don’t know.
The reality is that what you don’t know is more than what you know. Yet, what you know determines your progress in life.
God said He would show you!
Let’s take a look at other translations.
Jer 33:3 (MSG) ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvellous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’
Wondrous things and marvelous things that you can’t figure out alone, He said He will show you!
People of God, get ready for God this year to show you marvelous and wondrous things, and you will know it is God showing you because they are things you could not figure out on your own!
This will give you an advantage in life and propel you beyond your contemporaries!
I pray that this year will be a year of revelations and insights that will advance you massively in Jesus’ name!
A little deviation from our wisdom series this morning, I want to show us one way we can maintain our sanity in this present world.
The devil aims at filling our minds with negative things, that is why almost everywhere you look, there is one form of sad news or the other.
Social media, print media and other forms are equally not helping matters. One can almost begin to wonder why you were born in this generation.
The plan of the devil is to weary us till we become sick, tired, and even suicidal. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory in Christ Jesus! Hallelujah!
There is an age-long, profound, medicine found in the bible that I want to prescribe to you this morning. Whenever you feel down, depressed, sick, angry, unloved, or any negative feeling, just use this medication and I assure you, you will be fine.
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. – Pro 17:22
God wants you quick, alive, and active. The devil wants you depressed, gloomy, and broken. The scripture tells us laughter is good. It is healthy. It has some curative powers.
Sometimes, just take off your gaze from the test you failed, the bully in school, the teacher that hardly smiles, the stress of the assembly ground, and just laugh out loud.
As a matter of fact, it has been proven that children are more prone to laughter than adults. Do you also know that God himself laughs?
In heaven the Lord laughs as he sits on his throne, making fun of the nations. – Ps 2:4 [CEV]
So what is your excuse? When last did you have a good laugh?
Go ahead and laugh over that situation because you have the victory already. Glory!
PRAYER: Father in Jesus name, always give me reasons to laugh.
ACTION PLAN: Go ahead and laugh out loud
DECLARATION: I choose to laugh always. I am not depressed, sad or gloomy. The joy of the Lord is my strength.
Hello dear, today is blessed already because God has a powerful message for you. It is God’s message to you about fear. One of the things that demean our authority as children of God is the spirit of fear.
Fear comes from the devil, it is not given to you by God, it’s from the pit of hell.
Many times, you have fear for your classroom exercises, you fear you won’t understand what your teacher is teaching.
Fear for bullies in school, you are scared they are going push you down or say mean things to you.
Other times, fear for exams, the lie of the devil is that even if you read, you are going to fail your exams.
Fear of telling the truth because you will be punished, or fear for the night, you think something will appear out of nowhere.
All these aren’t from God. It’s the devil trying to plant a seed that doesn’t belong to God
For the Bible says in
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. – 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
The plan of God for you is in this other; Power, Love, and a sound mind.
Today, the bond of the devil is broken. Fear loses its hold over you. As a child of God, whatever isn’t of God isn’t permitted to be in your life, by the power in the name of Jesus. Amen
