How To Handle Overwhelming Situations In Marriage

1. Focus on the blessings of being married

Just because you have a headache is not enough reason you should wish your head were cut off. We all know that the benefits of having a head sitting on your neck far outweigh having a headache.

2. Take time out when you notice a burnout

A burnout could mean that you are driving yourself hard too much and need to slow down a bit. Taking time to relax could be as often as daily and as simple as laying down on your bed undisturbed with your favorite music, doing something you love or simply, having thanksgiving. You will surely feel refreshed, especially in your marriage.

3.  Enjoy your own spouse and children

Learn to enjoy yourself with your family and you will see the feeling of being overwhelmed will go. Learn to laugh and play, and your joy will return. You will find your strength renewed and find new reasons to love again.

Have you registered for KHC Couples’ camp meeting yet? It is going to be awesome! Go HERE if you have not done so.

4. Thanksgiving

It is high time we know that thanksgiving brings God’s presence. We make warfare with our thanks. Thanksgiving opens doors to the heavenlies.

Depressive feelings are often entering point or invitation to demonic operations that are responsible for draining our strength.

The Bible actually put it like this, ‘The joy of the Lord is our strength’.

I hope this has been helpful.

God bless your marriage!

Knowing Who To Marry – His Handsomeness – Part 2

Knowing Who To Marry – His Handsomeness – Part 2

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We started on this yesterday. If you missed Part 1 yesterday, you can read it HERE

If he can disregard your God, he would disregard you!

Beware of a handsome face sitting upon an ugly heart. The ugliness would eventually extend to the face in no time.

Beware of the handsome man that wants you to compromise your faith in order to satisfy his rush of adrenaline.

Beware of the one that can combine an ugly heart with a handsome face.

Fine man, but he beats his wife!

Handsome man, but irresponsible!

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered. Kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals, kindly go HERE

Lord, give me a spouse handsome within and without.

Lord, give me a spouse beautiful within and without.

I pray for you, God will honor your prayers! You will not regret your actions in Jesus name. You will not spend the major part of your life agonizing and living in pain over a fine face, but ugly heart. God will guide you, lead you and honor you in Jesus name.

You will not miss it!

For those who are already married, God will make your union a beautiful one within and without.

That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:  [13]   That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:  [14]   That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.

Psa 144:12-14 (KJV)

So shall it be in Jesus name!

Your home will be blessed. Your children will be blessed. The works of your hands shall be blessed.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I will marry rightly.

Lord, lead me to the right person for me.

Two Important Things Every Wife Should Know

Two Important Things Every Wife Should Know

Two Important Things Every Wife Should Know

Sometimes, our husband hammering on our weakness may be what we need to continually draw us to our knees to talk to God.

Our husbands, most of the time, their aim is never to hurt us but maybe their approach is the best for us based on our temperament.

Whichever way, two things are important:

1. Be wise enough like the old cow to eat the hay and spew the straw.

Look beyond his method and pick his wisdom in correcting you.

Grow beyond the hurt and embrace his wisdom.

2. Be teachable, humble, and meek.

The Pharisees couldn’t benefit from Jesus because they were unteachable and too full of pride. Humbly accept his correction and rebuke.

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

We all had parents whose approach in dealing with us was not totally correct, but once we accept their method, we are better for it.

So, wives, you are not alone. It’s all part of the package. Sometimes, we may not be appreciated or understood. Never mind, our reward is sure. And you know what? God, Himself is our shield and exceeding great reward.

God bless our marriage.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I am a faithful wife, humble, meek, and teachable

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Lord, help me to humbly receive my husband as my head and submit to him

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Rom 8:28 For we know that all things work together for good for those that love the Lord.

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY
Accept your husband as God’s gift to you

Do These Things And Make Your Spouse Happy

Do These Things And Make Your Spouse Happy

Reading Time: 2 minutes

1. Accept your spouse and never attempt to change him/her.

If one has to be happy, one must make up one’s mind, that no matter what, I must keep my joy in place.

Some marriages are very problematic and require extra effort to stay happy.

All in all, every marriage has its own peculiar problem and each one has to do certain things just to stay and remain happy.

2. Be contented with whatever you have per time

But godliness with contentment is great gain.

1Ti 6:6  KJV

Bible says there is great gain in being content, with being godly. Why? Because with your godliness, your situation will eventually change for the better.

You may start out with your spouse from not enough, not being able to afford the basic necessities of life, just hold on to the Lord. Most of the great men of God you see today had stories of humble beginnings.

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

Be content with your husband or wife’s temperament. Know that her weaknesses are good for you because the other temperament you admire so much, also has a weakness you will never be able to cope with.

3. Find a reason to laugh every day

No matter what life throws at you, laugh. I know it is easier said than done. Life has to be approached by doing what has to be done no matter whether it is convenient or not.

A good hearty laugh is a healthy medicine.

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Pro 17:22 KJV

4. Be grateful and thankful that you have a family

One of the things that keep anyone happy is having a grateful attitude.

The truth of the matter is that you will have more things to thank God for than you can ever imagine. Take time out to be thankful for yourself, your spouse, and all the so-called ‘little victories’ you have.

Be grateful for each day. The gift of life, for the air you breadth and all the things we so take for granted.

5. Forgive your spouse easily

Not forgiving is like drinking poison and expecting the other person that offended you to die. This will never happen. The effect of the poison will always be on the one who drank the poison,

Learn to forgive easily and quickly. Not forgive and then hold your spouse in strife and malice and don’t talk to your spouse again.

Marriage is for two great forgivers. When you forgive you are lighter in your spirit and happier because you can have a free flow of the spirit and then you enjoy the joy of salvation.

Wisdom, understanding, and peace can also access your spirit when you are void of unforgiveness.

Do these five things and you will see that you are a more happy person. Not that your situation will change immediately, but you will have peace with yourself.

God bless your marriage.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I am a happy person and am full of life

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Lord, help me to embrace those things that make me truly happy.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Pro 17:22 KJV A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Do these things and watch your marriage transform

Can My Lover Be Both Spiritual And Romantic?

Can My Lover Be Both Spiritual And Romantic?

Reading Time: 2 minutes

That word means “romantic.” Spirituality should never in any way disturb being a romantic lover, single or married.

The synonyms of “romantic” include loving, amorous, passionate, tender, affectionate, lovey-dovey. Speaking in tongues should not disturb speaking sweet things to your lover.

One is to God, the other is to your lover. After you have done the one for God, do the one for your lover as well.

Let your relationship or marriage be characterized with an expression of love. Be passionate towards him or her.

Before wedding, “passionate’ does not include kissing, smooching, and sex. It includes calling regularly, doting on each other, praying for one another, sending loving (not vulgar or perverse) texts to each other (not sexting), buying each other flowers, chocolates, special gifts, and doing memorable things together.

Being romantic is not being full of lust.

In the Old Testament, honeymoons last as long as one year!

Deu 24:5 (KJV) When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.

God wants you to enjoy each other!

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered. Kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals, kindly go HERE

In the New Testament, God wants you to have honeymoon for life! Enjoy every day of your married life! Sadly enough, by first week of most marriages, it is only the moon they can find, no honey! That will not be your portion in Jesus name!

The Bible clearly advocates that married couples enjoy themselves sexually and otherwise.

Pro 5:18-19 (KJV) Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.  [19]   Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

There is nothing wrong about fantasizing about your spouse! It is godly. Take a look at the Message Translation:

Pro 5:18-19 (MSG) Bless your fresh-flowing fountain! Enjoy the wife you married as a young man!  [19]  Lovely as an angel, beautiful as a rose— don’t ever quit taking delight in her body. Never take her love for granted!
