What Does It Mean to Fear God

What Does It Mean to Fear God

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Dear child, you have been taught that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Whoever wants to be wise must first start by learning what it means to fear God, and deliberately walk in that fear, putting God first before every decision.

Today I’d like to show you more things about the fear of God. Let’s take a look at our focus verse for today!

To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. –Proverbs 8:13 (NIV)

This verse listed some things God wants us his children to take note of. The fear of God means to; hate evil, to hate pride and arrogance, to hate evil behaviours, and to hate perverse speech. Let’s pick these things one after the other, shall we?

1. The fear of God is to Hate Evil.

The word evil means being wicked, and harming people. The God we serve is a good God, his thought for everyone is to do us good. You can’t be a child of God and think of harming the people around you. The proof that you are a Christian is that you love your neighbour, and everyone around you just like Jesus commanded.

2. The fear of God is to Hate Pride and Arrogance.

Pride and Arrogance are similar words; it is the quality of having an excessively high opinion of oneself, having an exaggerated sense of one’s own importance or abilities. Humility and kindness are very important virtues for us as God’s children, you might be smarter or prettier than the people around you, but that doesn’t mean you are better than they are. Jesus lived a humble life on earth, that’s what every child of God should do too.

To be continued…

PRAYER:
Father in the name of Jesus, I pray that I have the fear of God in Jesus name. Amen

ACTION PLAN:
Decide to put in your best in all you do today

DECLARATION:
I have the fear of God, I hate evil all the days of my life.

How To Make Your Relationship Work –Part 2

How To Make Your Relationship Work –Part 2

Reading Time: 2 minutes

SINGLES- How To Make Relationship Work

It is important as young people, and also as people trusting God for marital bliss to keep your focus on God. That is how things are going to work. Why focus on God and on God’s word?

Here it is:

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. –Hebrews 12:2-3 (KJV)

Looking unto Jesus! Why the focus? You see it right there. He is the author and the finisher. Your life is like a book. Each year is like a chapter. 2022 is a chapter. It has been authored. He has authored great and mighty things about your life!

So you have to focus on Him in order to be consistent with what is in the book concerning your relationship life. In that book, there is no compromise, no fornication, or any other form of sexual perversion. So you must abstain from all these in order to have your destiny aligned with His plan for your life!

I want you to read verse 3 carefully in The Message Translation:

When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls! –Hebrews 12:3 (MSG)

At those times when you get weak along the way, and your faith begins to flag, you focus on Him and His word, read it and study it, meditate on it and you will get some shots of adrenaline to your soul!

This day, I pray for you, God will strengthen you and honour you as you focus on Him in Jesus name!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I acknowledge you Lord as the Lord over my life, I say today that you are the most important person in my life and relationship

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Father, in Jesus’ name I ask for a heart that loves and worships you. Make my focus be on you continually, Lord.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Understanding The Mystery Called Marriage

Understanding The Mystery Called Marriage

Reading Time: 2 minutes

COUPLES –

All married couples should be aware of what marriage is before they venture into getting married.

Marriage is not the next step to be taken after you are twenty-four, you have finished your Youth service, you have a good-paying job, you have a good apartment, you are good looking and to crown it all, you have a car.

Marriage is not just to fulfill a social or religious obligation nor is it just to fulfill the procreation commandment in scripture. Marriage is more than all these.

It is high time we begin to view marriage with the eyes of God who created marriage. There is a truth in the heart of God about marriage. Marriage is first of all Spiritual before it is physical, natural, and then societal.

Marriage is a mystery that cannot be explained mentally. It is a representation of the Trinity here on earth. That is, how the Godhead is in heaven, marriage is that on earth.

It is really a mystery that can only be lived according to God’s instructions. It is almost impossible to adequately live a successful marital life without following God.

Two different individuals, born and brought up by two different parents, in two different locations with different experiences, different opinions and outlooks to life, different temperaments and just living their lives with differences so parallel to each other. It is a mystery to have these two people joined together to become one flesh. It is almost impossible.

It takes a revelation and a spiritual understanding of what the marriage relationship is all about. Both parties must be meek and humble enough to learn and ask from God how to go about living this mystery.

Without these revelations and understanding, the marriage relationship will be a mirage. This revelation is progressive in nature. The husband and the wife need to be everyday students in the institution of marriage.

Until a class or lesson is passed, there is no promotion to the next class. It is this promotion that marks our progress in life. Once we devote ourselves to being committed to learning from the mysterious institute of marriage, then we begin to enjoy the benefits.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. – Mat 6:33 (KJV)

As we seek God’s kingdom to be established here on earth in our marriages, only then can we begin to see every other thing added to us.  We have to aim at doing it in God’s way because that is the only way.

I pray God will enlighten our understanding of the mystery of marriage.

God bless your marriage.

I understand the  mystery of marriage

Lord, help me to understand the mystery of marriage.

Lessons From The Ant

Lessons From The Ant

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Dear child, there are lessons from the ant. One of the virtues you need in life is hard work and diligence. God wants you to be hardworking and diligent at all you do, let it be one of the things you are known for.

How do I know that God wants you to be hardworking and diligent? It’s in the word of God, anything God talks about is what he wants you to do. Let’s see what the Bible says.

You lazy fool, look at an ant. Watch it closely; let it teach you a thing or two. Nobody has to tell it what to do. All summer it stores up food; at harvest it stockpiles provisions. So how long are you going to laze around doing nothing? How long before you get out of bed? A nap here, a nap there, a day off here, a day off there, sit back, take it easy — do you know what comes next? Just this: You can look forward to a dirt-poor life, poverty your permanent houseguest. –Proverbs 6:6-11 (MSG)

The Bible wants us to learn from the Ants, first off, I want you to know that everything God created has an interesting fact about it, be it an Ant or an Elephant, or a Mango tree. Just like these things have peculiar, interesting, and good things about them so do you.

What does the Bible want you to learn from Ants? God wants you to learn hard work and diligence from the ants.

Fun Facts about the Ants:

1. Ants are not lazy; they are hardworking and very diligent.

2. Nobody tells them what to do, yet they do all that needs to be done at the right time, without supervision.

3. Ants know when to save.

4. Ants also can tell the difference between when to plant and when to harvest.

5. Ants always work as a team.

PRAYER:
Father in the name of Jesus, I help me to be hardworking in all I do. Amen

ACTION PLAN:
Decide to put in your best in all you do today

DECLARATION:
I am wise, hardworking, and diligent at all times

How To Make Your Relationship Work

How To Make Your Relationship Work

Reading Time: 2 minutes

SINGLES-How To Make Your Relationship Work

Some people think they are the most important person in their relationship. They feel if everything can just favour them and be exactly the way they want things to be, everything will be alright.

Generally, human nature is that of selfishness and the different temperaments clearly show this.

All the temperamental weaknesses are based on physical or emotional selfishness. It’s either you want to have it your own way, you hurt others without care or you’re just overly sensitive.

You hurt easily and don’t seem to be able to control your extent and duration of hurt. Interestingly, opposite will always attract, and so we usually find the one that hurts getting attracted to the one who easily gets hurt, akin to the predator and the prey, needing the other for survival.

Some others feel their fiancé/fiancée is the most important person in the relationship. They try their best to give their partner all they need almost to the point of pampering them. Their partners become their focus and obsession.

This will work for a while but soon you will discover that no man can fully satisfy the needs of another man, there is a downside to everything. Man in himself is not wired to sustain himself, not to talk of another.

Both parties require a common focus. They both require a common source of strength, encouragement, joy, power, grace, inspiration, direction, and fulfillment. It is only God that is qualified to take this place. He is the most important person in our relationships.

As we seek to please Him, serve him, worship and obey Him, we become better and bring out the best in our partners. Our relationship with God gives us the required wisdom to be a loving person in a relationship. His principles and person impact us with the grace needed for success.

Don’t put the cart before the horse. In the natural anyone who does that is considered ‘sick upstairs’. It looks like the highest form of foolishness, yet we want to do that in our relationships and expect things to work.

If you’re in a relationship now, the best thing you can do for yourselves is to begin developing your relationship with God. Make Him your focus. Courtship time is not the time for all play and fun. It’s the time to build a solid foundation of a qualitative relationship with God.

If you are not born again, get born again and consecrate yourself afresh to a lifestyle of fellowship and worship. This is wisdom and it’s your ticket to a blissful marriage.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I acknowledge you Lord as the Lord over my life. You are my focus and my obsession. My relationship will work.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Father, in Jesus name I ask for a heart that loves and worships you.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
As long as you grab for what makes you feel good or makes you look important, are you really much different than a babe at the breast, content only when everything’s going your way? –1Corinthains 3:3 (MSG)

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY
Make a commitment to spend time daily in prayers, worship and reading God’s word. Also start attending a good bible believing church.
