Hey there! We all do silly things sometimes, even grown-ups. It’s just part of being human. Nobody’s perfect, so don’t worry if you’ve made mistakes. But what’s important is that we learn from those mistakes and do better next time.
It is important to take an inventory of yourself because the foolishness of the foolish does not allow him to identify his foolishness, he sometimes thinks, the wise are the foolish ones!
Sometimes, you need the help of another to be able to see your foolishness because foolishness blinds.
In Matt. 23:17, 19, Luk.11:40 and Luk. 24:25, Jesus actually referred to some people as fools.
So, let’s talk about what it means to be a foolish person.
The Science of Foolishness
1. Despising wisdom and instruction
Being wise means respecting good advice and learning from it. But a foolish person doesn’t care about wise words. They think they know it all.
Pro 1:7 AMP The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning and the principal and choice part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; but fools despise skillful and godly Wisdom, instruction, and discipline.
The Science of Foolishness
2. Making Fun of Important Things
Fools like to make fun of important stuff, like God and knowledge. They prefer to spend time jesting, watching films lazily, and wasting time on social media all day long.
Pro 1:22 NIrV “How long will you childish people love your childish ways? How long will you rude people enjoy making fun of God and others? How long will you foolish people hate knowledge?
The Science of Foolishness
3. Ignoring Warning Signs
Sometimes, people see trouble coming but walk right into it. He deliberately steps into evil. He calls it necessary evil!
Pro 13:19 GNB How good it is to get what you want! Stupid people refuse to turn away from evil.
The Science of Foolishness
4. Hanging Out with the Wrong Crowd
Your friends can have a big influence on you. If you hang out with wise people, you’ll become wiser. Hang out with fools, and life will be messy.
Pro 13:20 MSG Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces.
The word vessel means receptacle. It is talking about your spirit man. When you serve God, that is oil in your lamp. When you climb the pulpit to preach, that is oil in your lamp. When you preach in the bus, that is oil in your lamp. When you work tirelessly, that is oil in your lamp. All those are necessary and they surely have their place, but when you do all of that to the detriment of personal devotional time with God, you are being careless with oil in your vessel.
That you sing in the choir will not compensate for the time you ought to be in God’s presence in the morning. That you resume at the workplace very early every day of the week will not make God understand your prayerlessness. Nothing will ever replace the time you spend in God’s presence daily!
Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. – Mat 25:7 KJV
When they woke up, all of them trimmed their lamps, but sadly, the lamps of five of them were gone out!
You see, there comes a time when activities without priority on God’s presence will fail. There comes a time when energy and service bravado will fail! When the oil in the lamp goes out, it is the oil in your vessel that will save you!
When you are serving God passionately with your time, energy, and resources but are still embroiled in habitual sexual sins and other transgressions, you are just being foolish! Ouch! That hurts! But it is the truth!
It is the truth that will make you free. I am not here to tell you what you want to read or what appeals to your ears, but to declare the undiluted word of God!
When you are seen as a spiritual person and others are even looking up to you and yet you know you are empty when it comes with a personal relationship with God, you are being foolish! Ouch!
If you are a pastor that only reads your Bible to preach, that is oil in the lamp and nothing more than foolishness! Ouch! You don’t read Bible to preach alone, you study it to live!
If you are a lady in the protocol or ushering in church, always prompt and active, and you don’t know what it means to practice the presence of God, neither do you read your Bible regularly, you are not being wise! Ouch!
If you are the most active in church and yet you are living in adultery, that is utter foolishness.
But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. – Mat 25:12 KJV
When they wanted the door opened to them, Jesus simply said he doesn’t know them! Is it possible that one can think He knows God and God does not know that person? Yes, I think it is possible.
Let us all get back to getting oil in our vessels regularly. That is how you won’t make mistakes in your marriage.
Oil in the vessel! That is how to keep your marriage together. That is how to run your home!
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the church!
Make up your mind this morning to be wise!
Selah!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY Lord, I receive the wisdom to run my home.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Pray that God will give you the wisdom to stay in His presence
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Mat 25:5 KJV While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Cut off your association with any person, place, or thing that is influencing you negatively.
Don’t let his shiny lamp, his fine car, and his iPhone without God deceive you. Those things bring temporary happiness that will fizzle out.
Real joy, constant victory only comes from God-ordained relationships and marriages who are constantly living by the word and the Spirit.
If he has no oil, he would think the lamp is the problem, and he would go and get more lamps, he would dabble into adultery!
They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: [4] But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
Mat 25:3-4 (KJV)
Nothing is more excruciating to be married to a wicked spouse, cheating on you, lying, deceiving, full of frowardness, and never giving you peace of mind.
Nothing is more debilitating to be married to a strange woman, a knife instead of a wife, bringing daily hell instead of daily help!
Nothing is more fulfilling to be married to a man or woman who is faithful to God, and has no capacity for evil through cheating, lying, playing religion, brandishing lamps without oil.
Where is your oil? Where is your depth? Where is your fear for God? Where is your integrity? Do you pay tithe? Do you honour God? Then you can ask me out and only then will my heart fall for you!
I challenge you to look beyond the lamp and go for the oil, the oil will lubricate your destiny and prevent your marital engine from knocking!
I pray for you this day, with every fibre of my being and with the strength of my call, you will not miss it!
Can you pray in the Spirit a little?
I commit you into the hands of the one that will exalt your horns like the horn of a unicorn and who will anoint your head with fresh oil.
Every form of confusion is removed from your life in Jesus name!
You will not collide with losers. You will not be entangled with foolishness. God will go ahead of you and make the crooked places straight. Affliction will not have intercourse with you! Delay is removed from your race! Heaven will announce you!
Be blessed today!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I make the right choice in God.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, help me to choose wisely.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Everybody reading this, including myself would have done some foolish things in time past, so nobody is really exempt and this is not to condemn or indict anybody.
Every man has his share of mistakes, but the wisdom in past foolishness is learning from them and adjusting accordingly. So the pertinent question this morning is, “Am I doing something foolish presently unknowingly? Have I been entangled in the web of foolishness without knowing?”
So, who is a foolish man? Who will God call a foolish man or woman? Let’s learn a few things from Solomon, a once wisest man on the planet. We cannot exhaust all but here are a few.
1. A foolish lover despises wisdom and instruction
The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning and the principal and choice part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; but fools despise skillful and godly Wisdom, instruction, and discipline.
Pro 1:7 AMP
A wise man knows that the starting point of life is to be a God worshipper and a lover of God. He is apt to want to learn the things of God. A foolish man on the other hand will not appreciate or value wisdom.
2. A foolish person makes fun of God and dislikes knowledge
“How long will you childish people love your childish ways? How long will you rude people enjoy making fun of God and others? How long will you foolish people hate knowledge?
Pro 1:22 NIrV
A foolish man laughs at the things and ways of God. He practically hates knowledge. He never reads any books. He or she prefers to spend time jesting, watching films lazily, and such things rather than seeking to improve himself.
To be continued tomorrow…
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I do not do things foolishly.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, give me wisdom for living.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Prov 1:7 [NET]Fearing the Lordis the beginningof moral knowledge, butfoolsdespisewisdom and instruction.

Mat 25:12 KJV But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
When they wanted the door opened to them, Jesus simply said he doesn’t know them! Is it possible that one can think He knows God and God does not know that person? Yes, I think it is possible.
Let us all get back to getting oil in our vessels regularly. That is how you won’t make mistake in your relationship.
That is how you will know the right person.
That is how not to miss your “bridegroom” That is how not to miss your spouse. That is how the ‘virgin’ in you will not miss it! The time when you are supposed to be ready and meet your ‘bridegroom,’ or your ‘spouse to be’ is not the time to go look for extra oil! It should have been in your vessel all the while!
Mat 25:10 KJV And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
When you’ve still not learnt how to prioritize your time, and you still don’t value God’s presence, you are still caught up with deceit and sexual sins, the implication is that you are not yet ready and the door of marriage can be shut! It is only those that are ready that will go with him into the marriage! The reason why there is a delay for some people when it comes to marriage is simply lack of oil in the vessel. It can literarily shut the door of marriage!
Oil in the vessel! That is how to keep your relationship.
Make up your mind this morning to be wise!
