In the vastness of life’s challenges, it can be easy to feel small and insignificant. The storms of uncertainty, pain, or fear may rage around us, threatening to overwhelm our faith. But in those moments, we must remember this profound truth: God stands on His throne—for you.
The Bible reminds us repeatedly of God’s sovereignty. Psalm 47:8 declares, “God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.” This image of God seated on His throne isn’t just about authority—it’s about presence. It tells us that no matter how chaotic life becomes, God remains steadfast, watching over His creation with unwavering love and purpose. And when He rises from His throne? That’s when miracles happen.
Consider the story of Joshua at Jericho (Joshua 6). As the Israelites faced an impenetrable city wall, God gave them specific instructions: march around the walls for six days, then on the seventh day, shout as the priests blow their trumpets. When they obeyed, something extraordinary happened—the walls came tumbling down. Why? Because God acted on behalf of His people. At that moment, it was as if He stepped forward from His throne, saying, “I see your obedience, I hear your cries, and I will fight for you.”
God does the same for us today. When we face obstacles too big for us to overcome alone—whether it’s financial hardship, broken relationships, health struggles, or spiritual battles—we can trust that God sees us. He hears our prayers, and He is not idle. Just as He stood for Joshua and the Israelites, He will stand for you.
But here’s the key: we must position ourselves to receive His intervention. Like Joshua, we are called to act in faith, even when the way seems impossible. Faith doesn’t mean having all the answers; it means trusting that God is who He says He is—a loving Father who fights for His children. When we surrender our fears and step out in obedience, we make room for God to move powerfully in our lives.
So, take heart. No matter what you’re facing, God has not abandoned you. He stands on His throne, ready to rise up and work on your behalf. Trust Him. Follow His lead. And watch as He turns your impossibilities into testimonies of His grace and glory.
In every storm, declare this promise: “The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress” (Psalm 46:7). For when God stands on His throne for you, nothing can stand against you.
The state of the heart is very important because that’s what God will see. When God looks down from heaven, he looks straight into your heart.
Unlike man, God doesn’t see the pulchritude or outward appearance, he looks inward.
Only God can see how desperately wicked a man’s heart is.
Only God knows the lady winking at you this moment but is plotting your downfall.
Only God sees beyond the nose.
Only God that sees the heart that loves you now and will love you some twenty-three years from now.
1 Sam 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
When God looks into your heart, what does he see? Will he see pride, arrogance, bitterness, rebellion, and all sorts?
Will he see perversion, scheming, devilish plots and what have you?
If God gives you the go-ahead to do what you have in mind, what will it be?
2 Sam 7:1-3 KJV And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies; 2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains. 3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee.
See another person;
John 13:27, 30 (TPT) And when Judas ate the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Then Jesus looked at Judas and said, “What you are planning to do, go do it now. 30 So Judas left quickly and went out into the dark night to betray Jesus.
If God gives you the go-ahead to start that relationship, will it be a disaster? Think about it.
God did not have respect for Cain’s offering because he saw his heart. God knew he had the capacity to give more, but he decided to withhold it….and God said it would have been better for you not to have given at all.
So God is saying if all you want to be doing is taking selfies at cinema halls, I think you should still remain single… hehe…
If all you want to be doing has no kingdom relevance, God will just be shaking his head from heaven.
Ps 24:3-4 KJV Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? 4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
Can you see how God lays premium on the heart?
Watch what enters your heart this season. Be deliberate and intentional. Guard your heart with all diligence. Don’t train your heart to accommodate heartache…it can make the heart sick. Your heart is sacred. Don’t make it a dumping ground.
Single or married, we are all believing that God will bless the work of our hands. God is interested in doing this, especially when that work of our hands is in alignment with His purpose for our lives both here and eternally.
The best place we can enjoy God’s blessings is when we are right at the center of His will and purpose for our lives!
The scriptures say here:
Deu 28:12 (KJV) The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
There is a good treasure of God that can be closed or opened. There needs to be cooperation between heaven and earth wherein the land in its season gets rain given from heaven.
The blessing of the work of our hands can be exemplified in the reality of being a victor and not a victim, where you can be the owner of a loan-giving company and not owe several loan sharks who keep calling friends and families with threats.
All of these dynamics can be found in just one verse! This verse needs to be studied, as a panacea to lack and poverty, as a way out of famine!
We all know the chief cause of famine can be a lack of rain, right?
Let’s take a look at another transition.
Deu 28:12 (MSG) GOD will throw open the doors of his sky vaults and pour rain on your land on schedule and bless the work you take in hand. You will lend to many nations but you yourself won’t have to take out a loan.
Hey! He will pour out rain on your land on schedule!
Isn’t that powerful?
You will lend to nations and won’t have to take a loan!
A good prayer here is this:
Lord, throw open the sky vaults and pour rain on my land in Jesus’ name!
