We started with this topic yesterday and I will be concluding on it today. I established yesterday that unity or being united has to do with being whole, being one and being together, speaking the same language, with the same voice for the purpose of achieving a common goal
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. – 1Co 1:10
The issue of husband and wife being one is very crucial. The opposite of unity is division, seeing differently and having opposing viewpoints. With unity, we can build maximally and reach our highest potential as couples.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! – Ps 133:1
From the story of the Tower of Babel, we can see the power of unity and the power of disagreement.
Unity comes when we as couples are in agreement. This happens when we see ourselves with the eyes of the spirit, when we see ourselves the right way that we are in a covenant relationship, and that whatever we do affect our spouse and eventually the union and our progress.

To understand and have a spiritual perspective of who we are, we must remain spiritual and make the Holy Spirit our friend. Marriage is spiritual and to make a success of it, we in turn have to be spiritual, and have guiding principles.
Never go to bed with an unresolved disagreement. When your spouse hurts you, don’t react, talk to the Holy Spirit first. That sounds hard or impossible, but it works. You have to practice it before you become perfect doing that.
Some benefits of being united, being in agreement and being as one are;
1. Unity brings progress
2. When you are in agreement, your prayers are answered.
3. Your voice will be as one in the spirit and you will command much respect. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven.
4. Unity brings prosperity
5. Unity brings peace
6. Unity enables you to achieve more.
7. Your results are exponentially multiplied.
8. You and your children are protected and preserved
9. The power of God dwells with you
10. There is God’s favor and blessings upon your home and in all you do, you prosper.
Make up your mind to never fight or be in disagreement with your spouse again. Accept the headship of your husband. Please him and do whatever he says. Be happy with him, honor him because the word of God says so and it will be well with you and your family. You will have rich rewards to show for it.
May God open our eyes and understanding in Jesus name, amen!
God bless our marriages.

The Oxford dictionary of English words defines unity as the state of being united or joined as a whole. The state of forming a complete and harmonious whole, especially in an artistic context; A thing for a complete whole.
God is a God of unity. You can see the perfect unity in the Trinity; the three Godhead working together in perfect unity as one – God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, all working together as one, having the same voice, speaking the same language. They are one whole. That is why we say the three in one God.

God the father, son and the Holy Spirit are different entities with different and distinct assignment, yet they are so much in unity.
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. – Joh 17:21-23
God created husband and wife to be one
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one. – Gen 2:24
The original mandate in the heart of God concerning marriage is that they will be the example of the God head here on earth. They are to be one flesh even though they are different individuals with different ideologies, belief systems etc
May God help us that our oneness may be complete in Jesus name.
I will continue tomorrow.
God bless our marriages.

Here Is What It Takes To Build A Home. There is a popular scripture I love so much. It is in the book of proverbs
Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. – Pro 14:1
From this scripture, it is seen that the building of homes is directly the responsibility of the woman. But not just any type of woman, the woman has to be wise. It takes wisdom to build.
So that means there is wisdom to build, and there is the foolishness that plucks down or tears down. How is this wisdom acquired? If it just read a woman, we will know that once you are born a female, then you automatically possess this wisdom to build.
That means there are some women who do not have the wisdom to build their marriages and homes. There are no two ways to do it. It is either you are building your home or you are tearing it down. There is no middle way to it.

If you have wisdom, then you have it and if you don’t have it, you don’t have it.
The question we need to ask ourselves is; am I a wise woman?
The bible gave us the blueprint of asking for wisdom. We have a right to ask God for wisdom
My mentor told me how she will go about eating Suya and one day, a car almost hit her. The incident was reported to her husband who out of anger said she was behaving stupidly.
She felt slighted and offended. She talked to the Holy Spirit about the matter, and the Holy Spirit confirmed what her husband said. The Holy Spirit told her she is not only stupid but also foolish and not operating in wisdom. She was shocked at this and almost couldn’t believe her ears. She then decided to ask God for wisdom.
Until you consciously ask God for wisdom, don’t assume you have wisdom. Until you can say for sure when you were given wisdom by God, don’t assume you have wisdom.
My mentor prayed for wisdom for six months, every day for 3 hours. No wonder she had an encounter with the spirit of wisdom.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. – Jas 1:5
We have to ask and keep on asking. There are over 223 scriptures in the Bible where the word wisdom appears. We can take one aspect of wisdom and pray it into our life.
There are different aspects of wisdom. There is wisdom to deal wisely in the affairs of life. Wisdom is worth praying for because if you don’t have wisdom, you are left with foolishness, and foolishness tears down.
May we not out of foolishness, tear down that which we have built.
May God help us!
God bless our marriage in Jesus name.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. Pro 14:1
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Decide to be more committed in your marriage.
Marriage is for the broken. I mean those who have mortified their flesh. Does it then mean that anybody that has not attained this level cannot marry? Of course not. They can marry but making a success out of the marriage is impossible.
The devil understands this and he is okay with it. He is even happy with the idea of immature people getting married, so far as they don’t get to fulfill God’s mandate and agenda.
They could even spend millions of Naira on the wedding, with an elaborate and classic wedding. What matters most is how the marriage is going. How much does the husband love his wife as Christ loved the church? How much does the wife submit to her own husband?
God has given both the wife and the husband specific roles and functions in the marriage. This role is an individual mandate that is not dependent on what the other partner does or doesn’t do.
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. – Rom 8:13
The flesh has deeds or works.
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. – Gal 5:19- 22
There is a kingdom of God to be inherited by us in our marriage but ‘Those who do entertain the works of the flesh cannot inherit the kingdom of God.
The mandate of marriage can only be carried out in the spirit. By those who have their flesh crucified and dead to sin.
And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. – Gal 5:24
In our marriage, we must see to it that our flesh dies daily. Every wife should study what the Bible says about submission and every husband study what it means to love.
Our flesh must be broken to allow the spirit of God to manifest.
I once lived in pity-party and was very stubborn in my disposition to my husband. I was just so fleshly. I yielded to the flesh without constraints and I entertained and embrace every negative thought that came to my mind. I went to see my mentor because I had come to my wit’s end. She told me, ‘be broken, and listen to your husband’. Those words set me free because they were the truth.

Husbands, be broken and love your wife. Love her and be tender-hearted towards her.
Why get married if the reason for being married is not fulfilled? Don’t waste heavens mandate! Jesus said we should occupy till he comes. We must make up our minds that our marriage will fulfill destiny and purpose.
God bless your marriage
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I love my spouse wholeheartedly.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, make me a broken spouse.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 1Ti 2:1
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Decide to be more committed in your marriage.
I have discovered that in our marriage relationship, we can not afford to go on the journey alone. There is such peculiarity in our marriage that it takes the Holy Spirit to help us.
The Holy Spirit is a person. He is real. He is alive and He dwells in us. It is amazing that we have so much help available in Him yet we seek help everywhere.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. – Joh 16:13
The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth. He knows the real truth about every situation. He will not lie to us. Most of the time that we claim our spouses are too harsh on us, it is our flesh reacting. Our flesh wants to resist the truth.
I remember when my husband was correcting me and I felt bad about the correction. I even fasted telling God how wrong my husband was. I wanted God to correct him. It took the Holy Spirit to show me I was wrong. That I had to be broken and submissive to my husband.

After that encounter, I was gentle and sober. I stopped all my ‘gragra’.
The Holy Spirit is so wonderful. He will keep you calm in situations where your flesh wants to be strong and stubborn.
Most of the issues in our marriages are opportunities for the Holy Spirit to manifest Himself, reveal and glorify Jesus.
The Holy Spirit will teach you how to react, when to say something, when not to talk. In short, He is the ‘olofofo’ of our marriage. He will tell you what your spouse is struggling with. Before a problem starts, he will tell you.
I remember several times the Holy Spirit will reveal to my husband things I’m going through. These are some of the benefits of being a believer. We are born again Christians, let’s make use of these fact.
Let’s develop a relationship with the spirit of Grace. The marital journey is not meant to be ran alone. The Holy Spirit is not a general spirit. He is a particular, specific and individual spirit. He addresses your situation personally.
No two marriages are exactly the same. It is the Holy Spirit that helps you interpret a general message to suit you and your marriage.
As an helper meet for your husband, you have to be strong and courageous. You need the Holy Spirit to be a good husband and take care of that woman. As a wife you need the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is a teacher. He will teach you all things. And you what, you can talk to him about anything and every thing, He will answer you. Learn to receive the helper made available for you.
Develop a thriving relation with Him today. God bless your marriage.
