Best Ways To Fall In Love Again As Couples. I watched a video sent by a friend. It was about a couple having a slight argument. In fairness, the husband was cool and handled the situation well. The wife on the other hand was almost losing it probably out of frustration.
What happened was that the wife was to use a blender and it wasn’t working fine. She asks the husband to come and have a feel of the frustration she goes through in cooking a single meal without his appreciation. He rather gives her a cold shoulder with a complaint that the salt is not enough, the food is too dry, too oily, etc.
The video was very hilarious and I had a good laugh with my husband.
We should always remember and not lose sight of the fact that whatever happens, during the good and the bad times, we are still believers. We do things the word way and have the word result.
A lot of things could be responsible for causing frustrations in couples.
1. Increase your time of study
We should boost our love walk with each other and much more, with God. Increase your time studying the word. Let the Word dwell in you richly not sparingly.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Col 3:16
2. We should increase our time of prayer
Pray without ceasing. – 1Th 5:17
3. Meditate on God’s Word
This is different from reading or studying. This is muttering God’s word.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. – Psa 1:2-3
4. Sing in psalms and hymns and new song
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; – Eph 5:19
5. Walking in love and confessing the word
Love is very important. When we walk in love, we are actually the better for it. Our own heavens are opened and God works mightily in our lives.
And if I give all my goods to the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it is of no profit to me. Love is never tired of waiting; love is kind; love has no envy; love has no high opinion of itself, love has no pride; Love’s ways are ever fair, it takes no thought for itself; it is not quickly made angry, it takes no account of evil; It takes no pleasure in wrongdoing, but has joy in what is true; Love has the power of undergoing all things, having faith in all things, hoping all things. – 1Co 13:3-7
It is my prayer that God keep us in His love in Jesus name.
God bless our marriages.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I choose to fall in love again and again.
PRAYERS FOR THE DAY Lord, let the fear and love of God keep me on the right path in Jesus Name
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; – Eph 5:19
As children, we must learn to accept discipline or correction, no matter how it comes. Any child who refuses correction will soon be destroyed.
See what the bible says about being corrected.
A wise son accepts his father’s discipline, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke. – Proverbs 13:1 (NET)
When your father or mother corrects you, see the good in it.
You are being corrected because they want the best in you. Your parents will not be happy if you don’t turn out well, so the best you can do is to listen to them and cooperate with them.
As parents, we always want our children to be obedient. No parent will smile when the child flouts an instruction. The joy of parenting is that our children listen and obey when we speak.
Likewise, parents should pray for Grace to instill the right kind of discipline into their children.
Proverbs 20:6 (KJV) Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
Most men will tell you all kinds of stuffs while toasting you, but where is really that faithful man?
A faithful man will abound with blessings. If you have a faithful husband, treasure him. If you have a man that will not cheat on you, you are blessed!
We are in a generation where ladies would open their legs without asking for it.
If you are unfaithful, if you are careless, if you have no self control, you will fry yourself alive!
See me, I have made up my mind o… there is no going back by the grace of God!
Making up your mind doesn’t mean you are boasting, it means you are consecrating yourself unto God and by His Spirit to stay true to His word.
I am an Ijebu man. We are very shrewd.
Which one weighs more? Your destiny or seven minutes of sweating and jacking up and down? Just asking ni o!
Enjoying yourself in the pleasure of adultery or fornication versus losing God’s favour and even losing heaven when you are unrepentant! Which one?
2. The Responsible Husband
The responsible husband will ensure his family is taken care of.
He would not spend money drinking around town while his kids are sent home for not paying school fees.
He would do all possible in God to ensure the best is provided for His family.
He is not lazy.
Every woman should pray for a responsible husband.
My heart bleeds to hear of many women who are breadwinners of their families, struggling to make ends meet because they are married to a man who is full of promises and talks but will never do anything.
Marrying a lazy man is an affliction in itself. Before you walk down the aisle, watch it.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I am led by the spirit of God. My feelings do not control me.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, lead me to the rightful person for me
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Four Ways To Guard Against Adultery – Part 3. Continued from yesterday… We have been looking at ways to prevent you from falling into adulterous relationships.
I mentioned that if you can do these four things, you will be doing yourself a lot of good to guard against adultery.
1. Guard your mind
2. Guard your heart
3. Guard your mouth
4. Guard your body
Having identified ways to guard against adultery, what do you do next?
Keep your heart. Don’t be given to unproductive discussions with people who have no regard for God. Deliberately avoid such people that you know will influence you negatively! Be selective with your associations.
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. – Pro 4:23 KJV
Message Translations says:
Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. – Pro 4:23 MSG
What else to do?
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; -1Pe 1:13 KJV
Take up the loose ends of your mind and tuck them in. Do not allow your mind to ramble endlessly on just anything. Be deliberate in filling your heart with God’s word.
Amplified version puts it this way
So brace up your minds; be sober (circumspect, morally alert); set your hope wholly and unchangeably on the grace (divine favor) that is coming to you when Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is revealed. -1Pe 1:13 AMP
If you are already entangled in adultery, seek help immediately. Destroy that which seeks to destroy you. Open up to trusted mentors or any other authority figure. Just opening up to the right person weakens the power of iniquity. If you hide it, you are ensnared by it.
I pray that the help you need at this time be available for you in Jesus name!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I guard my heart, mind, mouth, and body. I take responsibility for the things I do.
PRAYERS FOR THE DAY Lord, let the fear and love of God keep me on the right path in Jesus Name
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY After all, we don’t want to unwittingly give Satan an opening for yet more mischief – we’re not oblivious to his sly ways! (2Co 2:11 MSG)
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Have a ‘to do list’ Plan today. Replace every wrong thought with God’s word
Today, we will continue from the storyline we started with yesterday; the story of Prophet Samuel, learning from his birth.
Despite one of his wives being barren, Elkanah never gave up on God. On a yearly basis, he would go up to offer sacrifices to God and seek His face.
3 Now this man used to go up year by year from his city to worship and to sacrifice to the Lord of hosts at Shiloh, where the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were priests of the Lord. 4 On the day when Elkanah sacrificed, he would give portions to Peninnah his wife and to all her sons and daughters. 5 But to Hannah he gave a double portion, because he loved her, though the Lord had closed her womb. –1 Sam 1:3-5 [ESV]
The lesson here is that despite what you are going through, never give up on God. The promises of God are yes and amen.
2 Cor 1:20[NKJV] For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
Though it may take a while, keep your faith high.
What had God promised you? It will come to pass.
Don’t begin to throw tantrums at your parents, siblings, classmates, and everyone around you because what you are believing God for has not yet happened.
Maintain a positive attitude and you will see the salvation of the Lord your God.
God bless you.
Prayer: Oh Lord, help me to stay faithful to you. Amen
