My Children Are Grateful At All Times

My Children Are Grateful At All Times

Reading Time: 2 minutes

My children are grateful. That should be your declaration every time, as a parent. As a child, you must learn to be grateful always.

Ps 6:5 (KJV) For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

Many of us lack the culture of gratitude. We seem to believe our parents will always have it figured out. “They are parents anyway, they should. If they don’t, why did they bring me to the world?”

It doesn’t really work that way. When you grow up, you will realize adulthood is hard work.

The psalmist is asking us one question we always ignore. He asks if anyone could give thanks in the grave.

The answer is no one can. So why don’t you do all the thanksgiving now that you are here?

Look at the way the message bible puts it.

Ps 6:5 (MSG) I’m no good to you dead, am I? I can’t sing in your choir if I’m buried in some tomb!

We don’t have to wait till we have the ‘big’ things before learning the culture of thanksgiving. As little as a candy or biscuit, it should be received with thanksgiving.

This means as parents, we should imbibe in our children and make them understand once they do something. We have to teach our children that there is no remembrance in the grave, hence, the need to give God all they can now.

Ps 6:5 (CEV) If I die, I cannot praise you or even remember you.

Children, now that you have breath, use it to praise God.

No one is praying for death, but it is something that will happen to virtually everyone. The prayer is that we all live to good old ages before returning ‘home’

Declaration:
My children give God thanks. My children are grateful.

Prayer:
Lord, teach my children the art of thanksgiving. Also, help me to imbibe the culture of thanksgiving in them. Amen

Action Point:
List all those things you ought to be grateful about.

My health is renewed. My body, rejuvenated. My bones and marrows come alive. My organs begin to function well. Every anomaly in my body is corrected. Every disease in my body gives way in the name of Jesus.

Help Pastor, My Heart Is Broken

Help Pastor, My Heart Is Broken

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Betty gave her all to that relationship. It was the very first time she would fall in love and it meant a lot to her. She saw nothing other than a glorious wedding, a blissful marriage, and wonderful children ahead. She fantasized herself being with Bode, loving each other as married couples.

She nearly failed her exam at a time because she was in love. The love was like drugs to her. She thought about nothing other than Bode. Her friends told her to slow down but she told them they were jealous and it was because theirs weren’t working.

“Nobody will mess up my romantic story,” she would say.

As time progressed, quarrels reared their heads. The love story began to develop unwanted twists that nearly ended the story abruptly. But she hung on.

The straw that broke the camel’s back was when Betty discovered that Bode was cheating on her with three different ladies, one of them being her best friend.

Her heart was shattered, scattered, and battered.

“All men are scum!” She said.

She went from anger into hurt and then bitterness. From there she entered acute feminism and she was beginning to sing that “marriage is not for me”

Have you ever find yourself in this kind of scenario? I have a word of the Lord for you this morning.

Even though you are hurting and bitter, God will heal your soul! Yes, He promised that!

HE RESTORETH MY SOUL: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Psa 23:3 (KJV)

He would not just heal your soul which is battered, He will restore it and reset it! Then He will now lead you into His God’s ordained plan for you maritally.

So when you are hurting, don’t stay in that hurt, go to God and let God do only what God can do.

I pray for you, healing and restoration will come to your soul in Jesus Name!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
My soul is restored in God.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Pray for your emotional healing

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Ps 23:3 (AMP) He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him — not for my earning it, but] for His name’s sake.

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY
Take your hurting heart to God

Dear Couples, Avoid Nagging in Your Marriage

Dear Couples, Avoid Nagging in Your Marriage

Reading Time: 2 minutes

There is a habit that is so unhealthy for any marriage. Do all you can to avoid it like a plague! It’s called Nagging!

One of the persons you should respect when he is offering marital advice is King Solomon. You will never be able to break his record. With a thousand women in his harem, no living human being has been able to break that record.

He was simply in a class of his own when it comes to women. He had them all and he would know a lot about them.

So he gave a piece of advice in the book of Proverbs.

It is better to dwell in a corner of the HOUSETOP, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

Pro 21:9 (KJV)

The Message Translation puts it this way:

Better to live alone in a tumbledown shack than share a mansion with a nagging spouse.

Pro 21:9 (MSG)

So, nagging can make a man relocate from his bedroom to the penthouse!

But that was in verse 9.

Suddenly in verse 19, like someone just hit with a revelation or who just woke up from slumber, he said

It is better to dwell in the WILDERNESS, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

Pro 21:19 (KJV)

He must have remembered another one of his wives!

Here, he says nagging from an angry woman will not only drive a man to a penthouse but to a desert, a wilderness!

Nagging can be irritating and frustrating. The Message Translation says here

A nagging spouse is like the drip, drip, drip of a leaky faucet;

Pro 27:15 (MSG)

If most men were sincere, they would tell you they often keep late at night and stay longer at work to avoid the nagging that might be waiting at home!

A wise wife will refrain from nagging!

Let me conclude by giving you a Dictionary definition of nagging

Adjective; continually faultfinding, complaining, or petulant: persistently recurring; unrelenting:

May God grant you more understanding!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I will cooperate with my spouse at all times.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Pray to God for a patient spirit.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Prov 21:9 (AMP) It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop [on the flat oriental roof, exposed to all kinds of weather] than in a house shared with a nagging, quarrelsome, and faultfinding woman.

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY
Quit nagging your spouse!

My Children Seek God Early

My Children Seek God Early

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Today we will be examining “My Children Seek God Early.” It is good for your children to get to know God later in life, but early is better.

The bible is filled with several promises for us to profit with.

There are promises for good health, promotion, assurance, favour, mercy, strength, provision and so on.

One of such promises is found in

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

Isa 55:6 (KJV)

It can be frustrating searching for your Sunday school notebook, especially on Sunday morning.

If care is not taken, you might have to forfeit it and use another note, so your parents don’t leave you at home.

There is a time to seek the Lord. There is a time to serve the Lord.
God is saying a time is coming when you will seek me and you won’t find me.
A time is coming when you will call my name and you won’t hear a word from me.
May that not be our portion in Jesus’ name.

The above verse tells us that there comes a time when the Lord may not be found. Hence, it is wise for us to put them in the way of the Lord from the cradle.

Children, now is the best time to seek the Lord.

Do you remember what Solomon said?

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

Ecclesiastes 12:1 (KJV)

A time is coming when you won’t find pleasure in all these things. Now that you are young, maximize the opportunity.

As parents, we are to ensure our children seek God early in life. No one is too young to seek God. Josiah became King at a very tender age and he ruled well.

As long as your children can call on you, they should be taught how to call on God. God will answer because he is interested in children.

Declaration:
My Children Seek God. My children call on the Lord. Early in life, they turn to the Lord. Amen

Prayer:
Lord, help me to seek you early.
