How To Praise The Lord As Children

How To Praise The Lord As Children

Reading Time: < 1 minute

How often do you praise the LORD? During family devotion in the morning? On the assembly ground at school? Sunday school?

“I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. Everyday I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.”

Psalm 145:1

You must have a personal time where you praise God.

There are so many ways to do this. Some ways are:

1. Reading psalms of praise from the bible.
2. Play and sing along to praise songs.
3. Sing from your heart praise songs.
4. Write love letters to God telling Him how much You love Him.
5. Write poems of praise.

When you praise God, you are exalting Him over everything and everyone in all the earth and heaven. You are acknowledging Him as your Lord. God enjoys our praises. He delights in them, and he wants us to continually praise Him.

Only God deserves your praise. Make it a daily habit of praising God. You don’t have to spend long hours at it unless you are led to do so. And ensure that the time you have put aside for praising God is used for that. Don’t allow distractions.

Focus on God and His mightiness and splendor. He wants to hear you praise Him always.

God bless you and receive your praises. Amen.

Prayer:
Lord, thank you for receiving my praises. Help me to always praise You. Amen.

Action points:
Praise God for some time today. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you new ways to praise God.

Prayer {Parents}:
My children praise the Lord always.

Declaration:
My children are God praisers. They spend ample time praising God.

How Songs Can Make or Mar You

How Songs Can Make or Mar You

Reading Time: 2 minutes

How songs Can make or mar you. Your ears are wonderful organs given by God for listening and also for balance. What you listen to can affect you. Songs, words, instrumentals, poetry, and so on all have the power of touching you.

When you hear a great Christian song, you either pause to soak it in or sing along just because you can identify with the words. So, also when you listen to songs that don’t glorify God or cause you to feel or do what you are not supposed to do.

Songs that use vulgar or harmful words aren’t good for you. They are songs that glorify evil and immorality. Listening to songs like that only teaches you bad words and how to use them. Over time you become well versed in them till they become part of you.

Apart from songs, people can also use bad and foul words around you. Are your friends or mates at school using vulgar words around you? Speak to them about using such words, and if they don’t listen, stay away from them, because they will only teach you to be like them.

Listening to Godly and inspiring songs helps to lift your spirit and connects you with the Holy Spirit which leads you into worship, praise, petition, exaltation, revelation, and more.

Also, people can pass influence with their words either to do good or bad. Watch out for the elderly people around you. What are they saying? Are they speaking hateful words to others? Words that inspire you to hate others? Do not listen to such words for they are ungodly.

Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.

Prov. 2:2 NLT

Listen to wisdom (good, life-giving, helpful, loving, et cetera words) so that you will concentrate on who God has made you to be, should be, and can be. In other words, listening to wisdom will help stay holy before God.

May God give you listening ears. Amen

Prayer:
Lord, open my ears to hear what glorifies you. Amen.

Action point:
What or who are you listening to?

Declaration:
My ears are holy. They only hear godly and wise words.

How To Worship God Through Songs

How To Worship God Through Songs

Reading Time: 2 minutes

You can worship God through songs. Lovely songs that come from deep within you. You release these songs to Him as much as the Holy Spirit impresses them on your heart. You sing songs that speak of His goodness, mercies, great deeds, and much more.

These songs don’t even have to be known ones that you have heard before. They could be new, just given to you by the Spirit of God because that is what God wants you to say to Him at that particular moment.

Sometimes, the Holy Spirit won’t even allow you to write them down. He just wants you to sing them at that moment for God. Wonder why He says He is jealous? He can be that jealous and wants only you to sing those songs or just a song for Him.

Singing to God is something David was known for. The bible is full of the Psalms He wrote to God as worship to the great and mighty God.

Be like David and let the Holy Spirit give you songs that God wants only you to sing to Him. Isn’t that a wonderful thing? God giving you a unique song to sing to Him just for Him only. Hallelujah!

God loves it when children sing for Him. Your sweet voice is what He wants to hear first thing in the morning, during the day and even at night before you sleep. He waits to hear your voice worship Him with songs.

May the Lord receive your worship. Amen.

Prayer:
Mighty God, I raise my voice in worship to you. Let my voice and song(s) be sweet to Your ears. May Your Spirit give me the words to sing to You only. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Action Point:
Find, rehearse and sing beautiful songs in worship of the God of the whole universe. Tell Him why You love Him. He is waiting to hear you sing.

Confession:
I will sing praise unto God all day. I will not be an ingrate, complaining or grumbling.
