The truth is that marriage cannot be done in the flesh. It takes the two parties involved, walking in the spirit and deciding to crucify their flesh. Love itself is not a natural virtue, it is a spiritual virtue. Both husband and wife can be naturally selfish. We want our ways. We don’t want to serve each other, rather we want to be served. We can be revengeful, and most times, our flesh doesn’t want to forgive.
God proffered a once and for all solution,’Crucify the flesh.’ Mortify the deeds of the flesh in you. Walk in the spirit and you will not gratify the deeds of the flesh.
Be a doer of the word.
Rom 8:13 (KJV) For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Take a look at the Message Translation:
Rom 8:13 (MSG) There’s nothing in it for us, nothing at all. The best thing to do is give it a decent burial and get on with your new life.
