Light is synonymous with something good, beauty, clarity, understanding and so much more. Little children, Jesus calls us his friends, the Light of the world.
See what the Bible says in
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. – Matthew 5:14 (NLT)
Another translation says;
“Your lives light up the world. For how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop? – Matthew 5:14 (TPT)
This means first of all, that you and I are an important part of the world. We play a very significant role. Without us, something vital will be missing on earth.
You, dear child, have to know this and live in the reality of what God calls you. You are a solution bearer!
Notice how switching on the light bulb in a dark room makes all the difference.
God wants you to shine your light in school, at home, on the playground with your friends, around elders and everywhere you find yourself.
How do you shine your light as a child of God?
1. By praying for your parents
2. By praying for the sick to receive healing
3. By obeying the 10 commandments
4. By trusting the Holy Spirit to help you all the time
5. By showing love to everyone around you.
May God bless you more as you deploy your gifts in the service of God, Amen.
Prayer: Lord, help me to shine my light across the globe.

Oil For Today – Day 188
Thank you father for making provision for my being led possible. Thank you for your Word. Thank you for the precious Holy Spirit. I am your sheep. I listen to your voice. The voice of a stranger I will not listen to. I am led by peace. I discern the voice of the Lord. He leads me to victory always and in every circumstance, Amen
I’ll whistle and they’ll all come running. I’ve set them free—oh, how they’ll flourish! – Zechariah 10:8 (MSG)
Yes, God will whistle and that spouse will come running! God will whistle and set you free from all oppression! God will whistle and you will flourish in all you lay your hands to do.
But you see, there are many uses of the whistle!
In a football game, the whistle is put to many uses.
The whistle is used to start play, 1st or 2nd half and after a goal, but it is also used to stop play.
Other uses of the whistle are;
1. for a free kick or penalty kick 2. if a match is suspended or abandoned 3. when a period of play has ended due to the expiration of time
Take a look at this scripture before we look at the different scenarios.
You blow the whistle on godless nations; you throw dirty players out of the game, wipe their names right off the roster. – Psalms 9:5 (MSG)
God is blowing the whistle on every godless entity harassing your destiny! God is throwing all dirty players away from your life. God is wiping off names of deceivers, froward men, liars, strange women off the roster of your destiny! No more distractions for you!
Let’s look at the scenarios when a whistle can be used
1. For a free kick or penalty kick
For every pretentious lover who is planning to commit fouls in your life, God is blowing the whistle on them.
No more will you be cheated on the field of play! God is the referee!
No longer will you attract time wasters, destiny killers, distraction entities, and wicked men.
Your marital life will no longer be a field of play with countless fouls from energy-sapping players who have no intentions of walking down the aisle.
Can I hear an amen in the comment section?
To be continued tomorrow…
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I will not miss it in marriage
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Oh Lord, blow the whistle over every pretentious lover who is planning to commit fouls in my life.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Zechariah 10:8 [KJV]I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased.
Experiencing peace in marriage is priceless. You don’t want to know what some other couples experience when they have no peace.
Peace is our birthright as believers in Christ. It is part of the things Jesus bequeathed us with. The peace He gave us is all-round peace. Not some peace in the workplace and crisis at home with the children and lack of peace in your health. No, He died to give us all-round peace.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. – Isa 53:5
Jesus actually paid the price for us to experience peace. If you are not experiencing peace in any area of your life, the devil is cheating you out of what belongs to you.
Jesus already paid the price for your peace. He was chastised for you to experience peace. You are not just to hear about peace but experience it in your life and marriage.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. – Joh 14:27

We can claim the peace of Jesus. You can experience peace with your in-laws, peace with your money, peace in your neighborhood, all-round peace.
Let no man trouble me for I bear in my bodies the marks of the Lord Jesus Christ, Paul said.
Here are five ways to experience peace
1. Know what Jesus has done for you by His shed blood on the cross.
2. Learn of these truths and begin to appropriate them. You can’t afford to be lazy about it. You have to search scriptures diligently.
3. Begin to confess that which you discovered from scriptures
4. Begin to take practical steps to enjoy peace in every area of your life.
5. Be a person of peace. Avoid being quarrelsome. Stop being overly aggressive, hot-tempered. Avoid jumping to conclusions on matters.
God help us to experience all-round peace this year in Jesus name
God bless our marriage
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I experience all round peace in my marriage.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Pray against everything that wants to steal your peace
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. – Joh 14:27
Hello dear, today is blessed already because God has a powerful message for you. It is God’s message to you about fear. One of the things that demean our authority as children of God is the spirit of fear.
Fear comes from the devil, it is not given to you by God, it’s from the pit of hell.
Many times, you have fear for your classroom exercises, you fear you won’t understand what your teacher is teaching.
Fear for bullies in school, you are scared they are going push you down or say mean things to you.
Other times, fear for exams, the lie of the devil is that even if you read, you are going to fail your exams.
Fear of telling the truth because you will be punished, or fear for the night, you think something will appear out of nowhere.
All these aren’t from God. It’s the devil trying to plant a seed that doesn’t belong to God
For the Bible says in
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. – 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
The plan of God for you is in this other; Power, Love, and a sound mind.
Today, the bond of the devil is broken. Fear loses its hold over you. As a child of God, whatever isn’t of God isn’t permitted to be in your life, by the power in the name of Jesus. Amen

Oil For Today – Day 187
I am no longer forsaken. I am loved and favored. Everywhere I go, the mark of favor distinguishes me. I am accepted. Where I have been rejected, I am now accepted by the blood of Jesus. Doors open up to me. Angelic help is released over my life and destiny. The host of heaven backs me up. Today, favor and Mercy are speaking for me. Not by power nor by might, but by the spirit of the Lord.
Let’s look at more points to note that will set the link between spirituality and tongues straight.
5. The Flesh Dimension
Judging a person’s spiritual depth by how the tongue sounds is operating in the flesh and walking in pride. The flesh will always be wrong and will lead to wrong conclusions.
6. Same-Word Tongues
Some can be repeating the same words (as it sounds to your ears) and yet be communicating with God.
For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. – Isaiah 28:11 (KJV)
7. Utterance Is By The Spirit
Nobody determines how his tongue will sound. The utterance is given by the Holy Spirit.
But that’s exactly how you will be addressed. God will speak to this people In baby talk, one syllable at a time— Isaiah 28:11 (MSG)
The effectiveness of tongues is not in the vocal rhymes and vowels, but in the result that shows in your life.
8. Don’t Be Deceived
Some of the finest tongues to the ears were spoken by unrepentant fornicators and men of evil and perverse mind. Don’t be deceived.
There are experts in tongue-talking who are experts in sexual perversion!
9. There Are Counterfeits
There is a counterfeit of tongues. Every original stuff has its fake. There are tongues used to summon demons by Satanists.
There are familiar spirits. This is the answer to the puzzle wherein you see adulterers and fornicators performing miracles and giving words of knowledge.
There are familiar spirits, lying wonders of the devil, and manipulations of the occult.
Don’t be caught with a man who performs wonders and yet has character defects. They don’t go together.
Get out of churches where the Pastor who is married is attempting to sleep with you. Don’t fry yourself alive!
10. Rest and Refreshing
When you speak in tongues regularly, it will bring you into rest, refreshing, and give you direction.
To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. – Isaiah 28:12 (KJV)
Tongues are to edify you and to strengthen you in the inner man.
If with all your tongues, you end up sleeping around, committing serial abortions, compromising every day, something is wrong somewhere. Get help and stop being proud of your tongues.
Tongues are not meant to clean you up so that you can go back into sin and then speak in more tongues and then go back again. It is to lead you into consecration and not into a habitual lifestyle of sin.
Selah!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I will not be carnally minded.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, help me not to choose by the flesh
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Rom 8:6 NKJV For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
We are in a very significant year as I have heard so many people say a lot of things about this season. This year, we have to prepare to walk into greatness. There is no accidental success and no growth is a coincidence.
We have to prepare our ways if we must see any significant positive changes in our lives and families. Twelve months is a lot of time. You could start this year having nothing and in twelve months, have kids, have a business of your own, move into your own house, and be doing something significant in the nation.
All these come as a result of the blessing (if it must be true prosperity). The blessing however has to be activated. We activate the blessing by walking in certain principles of the kingdom.
As couples, you have to make up your minds and do so early enough. You cannot continue to do things you used to do and expect a different result. There must be significant changes in your approach and attitudes.
Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE
No more compromises! No to living life haphazardly! No to prayerlessness! No to the works of the flesh, works of unrighteousness! No to not paying of tithes! No to lack of intimacy with God!
You decide to say yes to a life that honors God! Yes to living to please God! Yes to seeking to know God! Yes to hearing the voice of God! Yes to a life of Obedience!
If you do all these, you will be preparing your way into significance.
Remember, God has a purpose for you and your marriage. Carry your spouse along and you will see yourself walk into Glory.
May God grant us grace in Jesus name.
God bless our marriages.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY No more compromise. No, not me.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Help me Lord to be faithful to my marriage covenant
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Prov 6:2 [NKJV] You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth.
Hello dear friend, I would like to share a little secret with you today. Well, maybe not a secret, it’s one of the instructions God has given you and me to have a beautiful life. Today, I will be talking to you about service. Yes, service. How have you been using your gifts?
As little children, we aren’t too young to do things for God.
In fact, in God’s word, there is no age bracket for who can serve God.
The Bible says in
And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. – Exodus 23:25 [KJV]
This is a powerful secret for good health, not only for you but for your parents as well
The big question then is; how can you serve God as a child?
Let me show you a few ways
1. By observing your quiet time daily.
As a child of God, the way you communicate with him is by praying and reading your Bible daily. This helps you to know the heart of God and also to do his will.
2. Showing Love to everyone around you.
The highest commandment in the Bible is the command to love God and also to love our neighbors. This is the desire of God for all his children.
3. Use your gifts and talents in the house of God.
If you sing or are good at acting, the house of God is a good place to use your gifts. You can join the children’s choir, children’s acting group, whatever you find to do, do it.
May God bless you more as you deploy your gifts in the service of God. Amen
Prayer: Lord, help me to use my gifts well.
Action point: Join a unit in your church
Declaration: I will use my gift well to serve and glorify God.

Oil For Today – Day 186
I cooperate with the timing of God. I do not run faster than God. I move at his pace. I trust the judgment of the Holy Spirit. Even though it seems late, it will eventually be the latest. God is acting on my behalf. God is moving to favor me. God’s promises concerning my relationship/marriage is coming to pass speedily. I receive the help of God. I am delivered from the clutches of sin. I walk in the victory of the finished works of Christ. The joy of my salvation is restored in full. So shall it be in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Jane sat before me, completely downcast. She was exasperated.
“Pastor, I don’t really understand.” She said
“What is the issue?”
“Pastor, Scott broke up with me! I mean, I could not believe it. I was so sure I had found my God-ordained man.
“What was his reason for doing that?”
“Pastor, you wouldn’t believe it.”
“Tell me”
“Because of my tongues!”
“What happened to your tongues?”
“He said my tongues are monosyllables. That it is not diverse tongues!”
There are many people who have found themselves in the shoes of Jane or Scott as the case may be.
One guy actually told a lady, “All your tongues are not more than Sanda…Sanda…Sanda… When will you ever get a shoe when you don’t know more than Sandal?”
While this may seem hilarious, most people keep on making this mistake.
Here are a few points to note that will set the link between spirituality and tongues straight.
1. A Spiritual Experience
Speaking in tongues is a spiritual experience. You cannot use your physical ears to judge or decode what is being said and the import of what is being communicated.
2. Communication With God
Whoever is speaking in tongues is essentially communicating with God. It is none of your business how it sounds to your ears!
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. – 1 Corinthians 14:2 (KJV)
3. The One-Syllable Myth
A person can utter one syllable and yet might have communicated a volume of Information.
This is why the complimentary gift is called “Gift of INTERPRETATION and not TRANSLATION.
4. Relationship With God
The spirituality of a tongue is never determined in the rich vowels or how it sounds to the ears, it is determined more from the relationship that person has with God.
To be continued tomorrow!
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Speak in tongues for 1 hour
Words are spiritual and are our connection to the spiritual word. Our destinies are spiritual and so is our marriage.
Words don’t die so also their effects. God has given man the capacity and ability to create, project, and speak things to come to pass.
Now, this could be positive or negative, the same principle applies to both. Words spoken by men whether born again Christians or unbelievers are powerful. These words could be spoken to our detriment or to our advantage.
The effects of words spoken to us are real. They either form limitations in our lives and marriage or make our way easy in life. Careless words are also not left out. Whether the words were spoken consciously or unconsciously, or in a moment of emotional pain, words spoken affect our lives.
Some people don’t wish us well and they are either outrightly wicked or full of the devil. Sometimes, we speak negatively to our spouses and these words stand against them.
Whether character flaws or otherwise, we will do ourselves good speaking what we want to see in our spouse and marriage.
Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE
Negative words from parents, colleagues, friends, and associates can affect us and our spouses.
Rachel was Jacob’s wife whom he loved. But unknown to him, he released the words of death, which eventually worked in the life of Rachel. When she was giving birth to her son, she died.
And so it was, as her soul was departing (for she died), that she called his name Ben-Oni; but his father called him Benjamin. – Gen 35:18 [NKJV]
The best way to nullify the effect of wrong words spoken is by using God’s words to cancel them. The same also happens concerning generational and lineage curses.
Until they are broken, their effect still holds. Sometimes, your spouse could be engaging with issues and problems they don’t know anything about. The good news is that you can begin to nullify the effect. You can cancel the effect of any negative words.
Go into the scriptures and get promises that God has promised. Declare this intentionally over your spouse and begin to see desired changes.
May God grant us more wisdom in Jesus name, amen.
God bless our marriages.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I nullify every negative word spoken to me or against my marriage
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Blood of Jesus, erase the effect every of wrong word spoken to me
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Prov 6:2 [NKJV] You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth.
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Plead the blood of Jesus over your mariage
Have you started taking responsibility? I remember when I was little and my mother gave me some money to buy fish from the market. When I got to the woman selling the fish, I couldn’t find the money I was given. Guess what happened when I got home? My mother was angry and scolded me for losing the money.
Why do you think my mother was angry? Was she right to be angry? The answer is “yes”. It was my responsibility to keep the money well. It was in my possession and I should have kept it well. I was trusted to keep it safe and get what I was sent.
Responsibility means doing what is expected of you and accepting the consequences for either doing or not doing these things. This means that as a child, there are things you are meant to do, say or keep. Things you will be responsible for. And as you grow older these things increase in size and time.
“Each person should judge his own actions. Then he can be proud for what he himself has done. Each person must be responsible for himself.” – Gal. 6:5 ICB
The bible verse above says that you are to judge your own actions, check if you are proud of what you do and that you should be responsible for yourself. In other words, are you proud that you are responsible or not? Judge yourself.
May the Lord give you enlightenment about being responsible. Amen
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I open my heart as I learn about responsibility. Help me to keep my heart open. Amen.
Action point: Ask your parents what your responsibilities are if you don’t know them. if you do, as the bible verse said, are you proud of your actions?

Confession For Today
Oil For Today – Day 185
In the name of Jesus, I am obedient to heavenly injunctions. My ears are inclined to do His bidding. I will not walk in the counsel of the ungodly. This day, I am going forward. My destiny is advancing. No more backwardness. No more retrogression. I am delivered from the spirit of stagnancy. In my relationship/marriage, I am going forward. In my finances, I experience a quantum leap. Henceforth, my song shall be forward ever, backwards never in Jesus name, amen.
Just go ahead and laugh at what you are going through
Hey, Pastor, you don’t really have an idea.
Yes, that is the more reason I want you to laugh and keep your joy.
When your life looks like there is nothing man can do, when that moment comes when you realize that you will need God’s intervention, then what you should do is laugh.
Why should you laugh!
A child should do what he sees his father do.
When situations set themselves against you, when people take counsel against you, when the heathen rage and the people imagine all kind of evil against you, when enemies rise up against you, and the battle seemed too much and too many for you, what do you do?
Start crying? No!
Start complaining and pity-partying? No!
Just Laugh!
Because that is what your father in heaven will do!
Psa 2:1-4 (KJV) Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? [2] The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, [3] Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. [4] HE THAT SITTETH IN THE HEAVENS SHALL LAUGH: the Lord shall have them in derision.
God laughs at them because He knows they are losers!
God laughs at them because He knows they can never win over Him!
Your laughter then is an expression of your faith in God that you already won!
When a two-year-old boy starts telling you he is going to fight you and kill you, what do you do? You just laugh because you know the little boy wouldn’t be able to do it, ever!
That is why God laughs! God simply holds them in derision!
Amplified Bible says; God, in supreme contempt He mocks them.
Mock your situation with a heavy dose of laughter because you will have the victory!
They said you will never marry? Just laugh, because you will!
They said you will never find a spouse because all your friends are married?
Just laugh because NOBODY can marry your spouse!
Go ahead and LAUGH!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I choose to be joyful and laugh all through this year
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, fill my mouth with laughter
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Ps 2:4 [CEV] In heaven the Lord laughs as he sits on his throne, making fun of the nations.
Every once in a while, we always fill in certain gaps in our marriage created consciously or unconsciously. As couples, we are a team and should see ourselves as such.
As a team, our goal must be to work together to achieve a common goal. Every family is unique and we have different desires in our hearts we want to be fulfilled.
We are to complement each other. As a couple, the husband’s strengths should be the place of weakness for the wife and vice versa. That’s why it is good for each one of us to develop our unique strengths.
Let the husband not fight the wife over their strengths but celebrate each other’s differences. Our differences are there to create a balance, like the breaks in a car or the speed breakers are meant to control the speed of a car.
We are meant to fill in the gap created by our spouse without being critical or judgmental. If your spouse does not pray as much as you pray, don’t waste time pointing out his or her weakness. The ideal thing to do is just step in and get the job done.
Well, I know it is not every weakness we should step in and fill. This could breed irresponsibility. Based on the uniqueness of each family, each member should be given a particular task to do. There should be a division of labor and responsibility.
Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE
I don’t subscribe to an individual doing everything in marriage. Each person should have something to bring to the table. But when there are lapses on either part, please let us receive Grace to step in and do the needful and the Lord will help us.
For example, if your husband does not talk that much, you talk without complaining and he will also learn from you. The Bible admonishes us not to be weary in well-doing.
Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
We will only reap if we faint not. Let us always put in mind our harvest. This will keep us from being discouraged.
There are seasons of waiting and it is my prayer that God will strengthen us and keep us from being discouraged in our homes as we keep up the good work in Jesus name.
God bless our marriages
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I step in and fill the gap for my spouse
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Ask for the grace to fill in the gap for your spouse
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Gal 6:9 [AMP] And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.
