In God, there will never, read that again, there will never be disappointments when you stay with Him. Everything in God is perfect. He is the master planner who never misses a bit. The problems we have are mostly self-inflicted.
Even at that, when we come back to God in repentance and ask for His mercy, He hears and ensures that our situation works together for our good and still ends up in victory.
Are you experiencing any form of delay? Are you getting tired of the whole thing and feeling like backing out on God?
Don’t!
The pressures are mounted when you are closest to your miracle!
When the heat is increased, victory is often near. When the fire was increased seven times more to fry the three Hebrew guys, Jesus Christ was near!
Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with wrath, and the form of his face was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He spoke and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated.
Daniel 3:19 (MKJV)
And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. [24] Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was amazed. And he rose up in haste and spoke and said to his advisers, Did we not throw three men bound into the middle of the fire? They answered and said to the king, True, O king.
Daniel 3:23-24 (MKJV)
The fire was heated seven times more, but the situation only became an opportunity for a miracle.
Let the fire burn, let the waters rush, let the storms roar, God is still God.
Hold on. Refuse to give up. Endure. Refuse every compromise.
A miracle waits for those who wait!
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
It is when we faint not that we surely reap.
The delay eventually turns out to be a relay race, you are not out yet, you can still rejoice!
Keep serving Him. Keep keeping joy. Keep holding unto the word.
Your wedding will be a reality. God will ensure it.
Dream your miracle. Visualize the blessing. Imagine the reality, because you will soon see the travail of your heart.
I hear the sound of rejoicing on your behalf. I see God honouring His word in your life! Be blessed.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY My miracle is here. No more delay.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, do a new thing in my life
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Galatians 6:9 (MSG) So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit.
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Rejoice and be glad. Your miracle is here
This morning, I want to specifically talk about oral sex as one major type of perversion.
Synonyms for this oral thing include cunnilingus, fellatio, sixty-nine, oral-genital stimulation, blow-job, head, and more.
Listen to me, there is a spirit behind this act that is totally anti-God. I saw the activities of this demonic spirit in a vision of the night.
In a very sad realization, the spirit has crept into the church.
Sometimes back, I had to deal with this when God sent me to a young girl, less than 20. God showed me what she was doing, but all attempts for her to own up so that she can be restored fell on deaf ears.
For months, I was on her case, but she denied it all. Eventually, it was a story of cancerous growth in her mouth, and in less than a year, she was gone. Like a candle blown in the wind, her life was truncated. Cut off in the midst of her days.
Aside from the health implications, you don’t want to be in a spot where you offend God.
Let’s take a look at the scriptures.
For this is the will of God, that you should be consecrated (separated and set apart for pure and holy living): that you should abstain and shrink from all sexual vice, [4] That each one of you should know how to possess (control, manage) his own body in consecration (purity, separated from things profane) and honor, [5] Not [to be used] in the passion of lust like the heathen, who are ignorant of the true God and have no knowledge of His will,
1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 (AMPC)
A few things you should note in that place.
What is God’s will? I will tell you. It’s right there in that verse.
God’s will is that you are consecrated unto Him.
And then it says, look, the will of God is that you should be consecrated which means that you should abstain from all sexual vice and perversion!
Then it says that you should know how to possess, control, and manage your body in honor!
That oral thing is a dishonor to God and to your person. The act is derogatory in itself. Your body is not to be used in a passion of lust! God will never “understand” the oral thing as a substitute for fornication. It will never be acceptable, there is no point buying a lie from the devil. Keep your body in honour.
Anybody asking for your nude, sending stuffs to you, asking you for the oral thing is not a friend. He is an enemy; an enemy of your soul. Do you know there can be handsome enemies and beautiful destiny killers?
Every time you dabble into sexual sins, something dies around you. Opportunities, favors, God’s blessings are at risk when you do these things, and that is exactly what the devil wants; to keep you in the grip of iniquity.
But the scriptures says without mincing words;
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Romans 6:14 (KJV)
See the Message Translation as I conclude:
Sin can’t tell you how to live. After all, you’re not living under that old tyranny any longer. You’re living in the freedom of God.
Romans 6:14 (MSG)
Are you entangled in such? Time to quit!
Ask God to help you and cleanse you and for whatever reasons, never go back there again. Get accountable to someone. Let someone pray with you.
I pray that God will grant you more understanding.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I am consecrated and delivered from perversion
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, help to give up all sexual vice and perversion
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Romans 6:14 (AMPC) For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you, since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of God’s favor and mercy].
As we conclude on this topic, below are practical steps to take so as not to awaken love before time.
Our scripture remains
I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.
Son 3:5 (KJV)
1. Don’t visit at ungodly hours. He’s alone, living alone, and then you decide to visit by 9.00 pm. Are you going for a night vigil? Never visit a guy at a guest house, hotel etc.
2. Don’t go and cook dinner for a single guy. After dinner, certain things usually happen. Don’t try finding out.
3. When you are together, don’t rest your head on his laps. He’s going to get a hard-on, and things can get messy from there.
4. Don’t rub at his chest, beards, neck, and so on. Don’t lean over on his chest. The hands would want to get busy. Those could be erogenous areas that will weaken your resolve. It doesn’t mean if you just finished speaking in tongues.
5. Don’t talk dirty with each other. Don’t start asking for his view about sex. Things can get really crooked fast and you might be discussing pornography soon.
6. Don’t press your breasts on him, while deceiving yourself that you are praying together. You are not only stirring up love, you are setting him on fire. You, him, heaven, and hell know that you are not praying. You will trap yourself that way.
7. Don’t tease him Don’t ask questions like “Are you really a man?” Stop asking him if he can really perform on bed. At that point, it is not the devil tempting you, you are the one tempting the devil.
8. Avoid prolonged hugs, kissing, smooching, All in the name of greeting each other.
9. Stop discussing past sexual escapades. Stop telling him how many guys you have slept with. Stop describing graphically your past sexual escapades. If he is not a mature Christian, he will feel cheated and will want to have his way with you as well.
10. Stop watching romantic movies together. Your bodies will long for each other. If you continue, one day, you will find yourself in the land of perpetual compromise.
I can go on and on, but I’m sure you already have an idea of what I mean by saying you should not excite love. May God grant you more understanding.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I will not stir up love before time
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Pray that God will keep your feet strong
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Eph 6:13 (KJV) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Do not awaken love before time
There comes a time when love should be stirred up hundred percent, consistently, daily, and without caution. That is in the domain of marriage.
But as singles, you need to be careful around your loved one not to provoke him, especially, if he is keeping the faith and refusing to compromise.
You see when you are in love, your emotions are in overdrive most of the time, you are at the borderline of compromise and messing up most of the times you are together. You can help him a lot by your deliberate comportment.
Look at the scriptures:
I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.
Son 3:5 (KJV)
I charge you, O ye daughters of KHC! Do not stir up love until the right time.
Take a look at the Message Translation:
Oh, let me warn you, sisters in Jerusalem, by the gazelles, yes, by all the wild deer: Don’t excite love, don’t stir it up, until the time is ripe—and you’re ready.
Son 3:5 (MSG)
So, this is a warning to all ladies, do not excite love until the time is ripe and you are ready.
When will you be ready? You will be ready when you are married. At that time, you can excite love all day long. The angels will be clapping for you.
But if you excite love now, they will fly away. Lol
Let’s take a look at one more translation:
Young women of Jerusalem, swear to me by the gazelles or by the does in the field, that you will not awaken love or arouse love before its proper time.
Son 3:5 (GW)
There is a proper time.
Tomorrow, I will show you practical ways on how not to excite love before its time.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I will not partake in stirring up love before time
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Pray that God will keep you from stirring up love before time
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Eph 6:13 (KJV) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Don’t excite love till it’s time
Today I will share with you some helpful hints. A broken heart for a moment is better than a broken heart for life. You may want to carefully and prayerfully weigh your options and make your decision. Remember we make decisions and the decisions eventually make us.
1. Consider your future and destiny It is very important in falling in love to consider the future. Can you see him/her in the picture of your future? Is there destiny alignment? Are there things in destiny to accomplish together?
2. Consider your genotype For example, AS and AS is a no-go area. Don’t fall in love before finding out your genotype. A few days of pain and a broken heart is far better than a lifetime of pain and regret.
3. If he/she is an unrepentant sinner If he/she is an unbeliever or a believer who still enjoys habitual sin and is unrepentant. The things of God are taken with levity and he/she is making no efforts to draw closer to God. He or she does not go to church. A breakup may save you from a regretful future.
4. If there are a lot ofcharacter flaws Nobody is perfect but there are some character flaws that cannot be overlooked. If he or she drinks, smokes, womanizes, is a fraudster or engages in any form of violence, a break may be a better option.
5. If love is not genuine If the love is lopsided and he or she only loves you for what he can get from you a breakup is a better option. There is no genuine basis for the relationship.
6. If there is a major parental and family disapproval If prayers, efforts, and all possible options have been explored and yet there is strong parental disapproval despite prayers, you may want to consider a breakup. It may happen to be direction in the long run.
Remember that as a child of God, He wants the best for us and our future.
God bless you.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I am wise in my decisions
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, give me a wise and understanding heart
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Pro 16:9 (KJV) A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Consider these points and see if need be to break up
The Answer is No! You can marry an imperfect person because nobody is perfect. Nobody! We are all a work in progress.
But wait… let’s make some clarifications.
An imperfect person is not someone who is living in an unrepentant habitual sin, sinning willfully and enjoying the pleasures of sin.
In other words, I am saying, you cannot marry someone who is living consistently in habitual sin, with no remorse or repentance. Such a person is going get you into trouble and drag you into misery.
About being imperfect, the scriptures lets us know we will get better as we stay in the word, study the word, pray in the Spirit and pay attention to the things of the Spirit.
Is your lover doing all these?
Check the scriptures:
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2Co 3:18 (KJV)
Again we see here:
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Rom 12:2 (KJV)
We are promised a change as we pay attention to the word. This is entirely different from a habitual sinner. He is not interested in changing or getting better in God.
He may profess interest in change with his mouth, but his heart is far from that. He or she is not interested in God’s word, he is only religious, he goes to church.
He is a serial fornicator. He plays sport with sin. The Bible warns against such people.
Here are some clear instructions:
But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
1Co 5:11 (KJV)
You are not to be friends with such people not to talk of getting married to such because they probably have some money.
Amplified Bible puts it this way:
But now I write to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of [Christian] brother if he is known to be guilty of immorality or greed, or is an idolater [whose soul is devoted to any object that usurps the place of God], or is a person with a foul tongue [railing, abusing, reviling, slandering], or is a drunkard or a swindler or a robber. [No] you must not so much as eat with such a person.
1Co 5:11 (AMPC)
Again take a look at the Message translation:
But I am saying that you shouldn’t act as if everything is just fine when one of your Christian companions is promiscuous or crooked, is flip with God or rude to friends, gets drunk or becomes greedy and predatory. You can’t just go along with this, treating it as acceptable behavior.
1Co 5:11 (MSG)
Let’s take a look at one more scriptures and I will rest my case:
I wrote you in my earlier letter that you shouldn’t make yourselves at home among the sexually promiscuous. [10] I didn’t mean that you should have nothing at all to do with outsiders of that sort. Or with crooks, whether blue- or white-collar. Or with spiritual phonies, for that matter. You’d have to leave the world entirely to do that! [11] But I am saying that you shouldn’t act as if everything is just fine when one of your Christian companions is promiscuous or crooked, is flip with God or rude to friends, gets drunk or becomes greedy and predatory. You can’t just go along with this, treating it as acceptable behavior.
1Co 5:9-11 (MSG)
I will have to stop here this morning.
May God grant you more understanding!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I will hearken to God’s voice. I will work on myself till I am perfect.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Pray that God will perfect you
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY 1Co 5:11 (GW) Now, what I meant was that you should not associate with people who call themselves brothers or sisters in the Christian faith but live in sexual sin, are greedy, worship false gods, use abusive language, get drunk, or are dishonest. Don’t eat with such people.
1. You are not lonely. If you are lonely, you are not ready for marriage. Adam was alone, not lonely. Loneliness and alone-ness are miles apart.
Marriage is never intended to cure loneliness, rather it is to compliment you and provide companionship.
If you study the word, “helper’ you will understand what I am saying here.
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
Genesis 2:18 (KJV)
The Amplified Bible calls it helper and then goes further to expatiate that word.
Now the Lord God said, It is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.
Genesis 2:18 (AMPC)
2. You are not looking for a house-help. A lady is to be a helper and not a house-help. The roles are defined. They are not the same.
She can help out do laundry depending on your arrangement, but she is not a dry cleaner or a washing machine.
She is not coming to work her hands off while the husband sits back and watches news and football.
This even becomes important these days when there are a lot of career women.
If the young couple doesn’t have house-helps or anybody helping out, then they need to both face the work and not leave it for one party.
This does not undermine the hard work and industriousness of the wife as this is exemplified in the virtuous woman, but it also doesn’t make the husband redundant in the house as well.
There should be “division of labour” in love!
And this is why ladies should not go and spend weekends with a boyfriend all in the bid of securing a wedding. It doesn’t work that way.
You will end up having plenty of Jeru trips and less meaningful discussions to advance your marital plans.
The time that should be spent in knowing each other and probing character defects are spent locked up in each other’s embrace, in a passionate Jeru trip, and this is why there are problems after the wedding.
You never got to know that person with you on the bed.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY God will help me to get it right in marriage.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, help me in every you can in the name of Jesus
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Isaiah 42:19 (MSG)You’re my servant, and you’re not looking! You’re my messenger, and you’re not listening! The very people I depended upon, servants of GOD, blind as a bat—willfully blind!
So today is my birthday! It’s been 49 years! Wow! Ensure you drop a word of prayer for me! And in case you want to do a bit more than prayers, you can send your seed here – GTB, Kisses and Huggs Club, 0150088032 or see more options Here
The above topic translated will read “ O Lord, Deliver Me From Lying Lovers!
Many hearts have been wrecked, many a life has been interrupted, all because of acute insincerity of professing lovers.
Liars are simply like a plague. They will slow down, stagnate, hinder and stop a once excited and exuberant relationship.
Men and women who are ready to throw away any iota of integrity because of what they want to get out of relationship.
Many men have led astray many ladies, with blatant lies emanating straight from hell.
Many ladies have deceived their men, promising heaven and earth while knowing within them they loathe the very man that are professing to.
Married men professing to singles have violated many a heart and rupturing them in the process with lies manufactured straight from hell.
These men and women who fall in the categories are time wasters, destiny destroyers, wickedness sipping through their teeth, ready to devour and yet all these hidden behind fake romantic antics.
Lori Iro. Lying folks lying in state! My prayer this morning, is that God will deliver you from such men.
Froward men who speak frowardness from their mouth! Strange women whose lips are colored with lipsticks of deception, alluringly drawing men who are ignorant.
Here is what the scriptures says:
Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.
Psa 120:2 (KJV)
Pray this prayer into your life as a single.
The Message Translation puts its this way:
“Deliver me from the liars, GOD! They smile so sweetly but lie through their teeth.”
Psa 120:2 (MSG)
May you not fall in love with a liar. May your heart not be gripped and magnetized to a lying soul.
May God deliver you from such, “Lori Iro” crooners!
God bless you today. Have a great day!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY God delivers me from lying lovers
PRAYERS FOR THE DAY Ask that the Holy Spirit reveals the intent of the heart of your lover.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Psa 120:2 (MSG)”Deliver me from the liars, GOD! They smile so sweetly but lie through their teeth.”
ACTION PLAN FIR THE DAY Ask your lover direct questions.
5. The test of people skill. That is respect for individuals. People are like ladders. Does he treat people well? How about his mum, sisters, father, colleagues, et cetera. Is she courteous? Is she respectful? Does she disdain folk with a passion?
Your spouse-to-be will not likely treat you better than his or her family. How he behaves with his or her family is a template of what will eventually happen.
6. The test of excellence. That is wisdom. Is he hungry for wisdom or does he think he knows it all? A friend who isolates himself will crash. He or she cannot be corrected. There are no authority figures that can speak to him or her.
Let me tell you something here. The moment you look at a person and there is nobody you can report him to, there are no regards for parents or pastors, he is just an island by himself, you need to reconsider such friendships. It is a trap of the devil and such tendencies are symptomatic of an unhealthy outlook on life.
7. The test of God’s fear. He must love God. She must be a God-lover. Does he value God and His word? Does she revere God? This is the ultimate acid test. If he doesn’t love God, he cannot love you! If he treats the things of God shabbily, he will end up treating you the same way.
Let him or her be a person that fears God! It is not enough to say one is born again these days because the term has been grossly misapplied. It is not even enough to say one is a pastor or a choir leader or administrator in church, the question is does he or she fear God?
It was the fear of God that made Joseph run away from adultery. It was the lack of God’s fear that made Samson with all his anointing to get into sexual sins repeatedly until he brought himself down. God gave him a long rope because the scripture says he judged Israel for twenty years.
May God expound these words in our hearts in Jesus name.
CONFESSION FOR TODAY I test all spirits before I walk.
PRAYER FOR TODAY Ask the Lord to open your eyes before you take that walk.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY Proverbs 9:10 (KJV)The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
ACTION PLAN FOR TODAY Carry out the above tests before you walk.
For some time now, we have been talking about this topic. I hope you are being blessed. If so, kindly take moment to share this devotional, that is after you have read and dropped a comment o.
4. The test of sincerity. That is openness. Is he sincere about his faults, weaknesses, feelings? Is she willing to talk about them or does she pretend? It is dangerous to walk with someone who lives in the delusion of grandeur.
Some of the most dangerous sets of people are those who are self-deceptive. They can abort twenty times and simply use some scriptures to cover up. If it was done in ignorance, that is another thing, because God cleanses you and you can start your life all over again when you genuinely repent. But I am talking of those who have successfully combined this sinful lifestyle with serving God alongside.
I don’t care if he is a pastor or she is a minstrel, if he or she uses scriptures to justify a habitual sin that even an unbeliever will often refrain from, you should run from such people and not be joined in their unrepentant sinful adventures.
An insincere guy will lure you into sexual sin and then turn around to say you seduced him. What are you doing with such people? An insincere lady will offer her body to get some money and then turn back to say you forced her. That is nothing short of wickedness. Those are not friends!
He says he is a pastor and he slides his hands into your blouse each time you visit his office. I don’t care how much ‘anointing’ you think he has, he is a charlatan! What counseling are you looking for with such people, run for your life because there are counsels that can cancel destinies.
May God grant you more understanding.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I will not walk down the aisle with an insincere person.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, lead me to a sincere man/woman.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Gen 2:18 [MSG]God said, “It’s not good for the Man to be alone; I’ll make him a helper, a companion.”
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Test for insincerity in the life of your intended spouse before you walk down the aisle.
2. The test of diligence. You cannot afford to marry a lazy man or an indolent woman. It will slow your journey down the aisle. Diligence is measured with so many indices like tenacity, business acumen, career pursuit, doggedness, and so on. You may not have so much today, but with diligence in a potential spouse, you can be sure you will be great in life.
Do you see a man diligent and skillful in his business? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.
(Pro 22:29 AMP)
You cannot afford to commit your life into the hands of a lazy person. That is subjecting your life to unnecessary afflictions that could have been avoided.
What skills have been learnt? What self-development efforts have been made?
3. The test of focus. Is he or she focused? Where is his passion? A visionless man is so easy to identify. His speech will betray him because the mouth speaks out of the abundance of the heart. Once you know a particular friendship is getting deepened, ask a lot of questions when you can still reason well before emotions take over.
The world is full of people who will readily compromise and who lack focus. You haven’t been together for long and he or she is already asking for jeru trap. That is gross irresponsibility. Run from such people, they are not your friends!
Jesus said, “What a generation! No sense of God! No focus to your lives!
(Luk 9:41a MSG)
You ask him what his job is, and he says ‘he is planning to travel out of the country.’ ‘Since when?’ ‘Well, for like three years now.’ Is that a job? Why must a young person stop his or her life because of plans to travel?
To be continued…
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I do not fall in love blindly and helplessly.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Ask for consistency in your walk with God.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Isa 50:7 [NLT] Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will. And I know that I will not be put to shame.
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Carry out the above tests on your potential partner before walking down the aisle
The fact is that there are no perfect persons and we are all projects in the hands of God. However, there are basic traits to watch out for generally. While you may not be able to find a person that successfully combines all these, the qualities should guide you in your decision.
If a person does not have character defects and does not live in habitual sin, some of these qualities can be improved upon by asking God for His grace.
1. The test of integrity. Test him for faithfulness and integrity in little and big things. Make sure she has integrity and her words and actions line up. Integrity is very important because that is what will eventually preserve you.
The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
(Pro 11:3 KJV)
God loves integrity. In Job 2:3, God boasted about Job and he mentioned his integrity. Integrity in that verse means ‘innocence’
The potential guy or the lady must have integrity as well. It is a great legacy to pass to the children. Integrity is from the word ‘Integral” meaning one. You are supposed to be the same person within and without.
Don’t marry a gentle saint on Sundays but a vicious man on Mondays. Be careful to not walk with persons of dual personalities who seemed to give their lives to Jesus one moment and then take the lives back the next moment.
How will you know all these? These are the things you will find out when you are friends.
That is why pre-marital sex should be avoided because it will get you confused and distracted. You see, the moment you are illegally bonded together in pre-marital sex, the obvious character defects that others can see will mean nothing to you.
They will ask you questions like, “What are you doing with that kind of person?” And you will be like, ‘leave me alone, I love him, he will change! You see, you have not even changed yourself! You are not the Holy Spirit who changes people! What the scripture says is that that you should not be unequally yoked!
Don’t become partners with those who reject God. How can you make a partnership out of right and wrong? That’s not partnership; that’s war. Is light best friends with dark? Does Christ go strolling with the Devil? Do trust and mistrust hold hands?
(2Co 6:14-15 MSG)
May God grant you more understanding!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I have the wisdom of God to walk with the right person
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Pray that the person who will walk you down the aisle will be a person of integrity.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Prov 11:3 [AMP]The integrity of the upright shall guide them, but the willful contrariness and crookedness of the treacherous shall destroy them.
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Study the word ‘integrity’.
Without a relationship with God, you don’t know who God is and you don’t know what love is.
Without God, you are practically unable to love appropriately. You just simply lack the capacity.
Beware of traveling down to meet that man you scarcely know all in the name of desperation. It could lead to a tale of regrets.
Beware of your Ex that suddenly shows up from the blues asking for a time out. It could end with your testimony lost!
Beware of the lady you have asked out and who never cooperated since, but suddenly arrives in your crib for free.
Sometimes, nemesis comes wearing the attire of luck.
How Do you Find The Love of Your Life?
1. The Principle of Timing
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecc 3:1 (KJV)
This means there is a time for you to begin a relationship. This also means you cannot just start a relationship at just any time you want.
Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses.
Ecc 3:1 (GNB)
There is a time God has chosen for you. This is what is important.
The implication of this is that the first order of things is to know God who will then reveal His timetable for your life to you.
God has chosen your wedding date! Stop wasting time on dating sites, the first thing is to know God! God will then show you His timing blueprint for your life. If you miss your timing, a great opportunity can be lost.
There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth:
Ecc 3:1 (MSG)
There is a time for you to get married. Don’t miss that timing because great opportunities are embedded in the timing of God for your life.
Looking back at how I met my wife, God really chose a time for me, because he spoke to me about when I should ask her out. God even told me when I should get married.
I remember God telling me to get married before the millennium, hence our wedding was in November 1999. And did God show up for us? Massively!
Dear singles, know God first. Then God will speak to you and show you His ways for your life. And you see, in His voice is that direction you need right now!
I pray that God will grant you more understanding!
CONFESSION FOR TODAY I cooperate with the timing of God.
PRAYER FOR TODAY Father in the name of Jesus, help me not to miss my timing.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY Ecc 3:1 (GNB) Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses.
ACTION PLAN FOR TODAY Ask God to reveal his timetable to you
The Bible says we should judge ourselves so that we are not judged. We see in the Bible,
For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
1Co 11:31 (KJV)
The Message Translation puts it this way:
If we get this straight now, we won’t have to be straightened out later on.
1Co 11:31 (MSG)
So, this morning, can we be the judge and the judged, to avoid judgement
1. What has my prayer or devotional life been like? To a large extent, this determines what your relationship with God is like. Have you been consistent? If you haven’t, then you need to make new commitments towards doing that.
If you want your relationship with your lover to work, you had better fall in love with God first! That is a lot of wisdom for you!
2. Have I been walking in love? You are human. You have toes. There are other humans. They have mistakenly stepped on your beautiful toes. But you must forgive and move on.
Are you holding anybody in unforgiving mode? You have to let go. Don’t let anybody slow your journey in God down, because that is what an unforgiving attitude does.
What have they done for you that is new? How much hurt have they wounded you with that Jesus didn’t go through? Don’t you know the devil fights who he fears? Don’t you know it is your glorious destiny that is in contention? What about being thrown into the pit by your family? What about being sold to go and be a house boy/house girl by your family? But, Joseph had to forgive!
My dear, forgive and let go. Better days are ahead of you. Refuse to be bitter. Jesus said if you don’t forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive you as well.
3. Have I been compromising? You sometimes miss your footings. God made allowances as long as it is a mistake. Perpetual life of sin will ruin you. But if it was just a mistake, you just need to ask for forgiveness from God and move on.
If you have found yourself committing a particular sin over and over again, you need to press the stop button. You cannot continue like that. I admonish you in the name of the Lord, decide to stop today!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I walk in love towards everyone. My walk with God is getting better.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Pray for consistency in your walk with God.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY 1Co 11:31 (KJV)For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
It’s as simple as that! Marriage is the most sacrificial relationship you can ever be in. Don’t get me wrong, one can also decide to be selfish, but the marriage will sure be an oven and not an haven! There is a difference!
Marriage requires constant and consistent selflessness. You have to live in that mode daily.
Let’s take a look at definition of love that should under-guard every marriage!
Love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance. Love does not traffic in shame and disrespect, nor selfishly seek its own honor. Love is not easily irritated or quick to take offense. Love joyfully celebrates honesty and finds no delight in what is wrong. Love is a safe place of shelter, for it never stops believing the best for others. Love never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up. Love never stops loving.
1Co 13:4-8 (TPT)
Read the above words slowly and carefully. Look at yourself in the mirror of each word and let it show you the reflection of who you really are.
Can you see yourself in the true image of who you are? You like what you see or you don’t? No worries, as you behold and study the above words, and apply them into your life, you are going to be changed into the image you see right in the scriptures.
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2Co 3:18 (KJV)
Good Morning!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I am selfless. I understand what love means.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Pray for a better understanding of love.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY 2Co 3:18 (KJV) But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Study the word selfless in the light of 1 cor 13
Who is a Gossip? Gossip describes a person who habitually reveals personal or sensational facts, rumors, or reports of an intimate nature that are none of his business.
Slander is spreading false information. This means one can be gossiping and slandering at the same time, and one can be gossiping and not slandering at the same time.
Being a gossip or having a friend as gossip is both dangerous unsafe. Either way, there should be a refrain from such actions.
The Bible says we should study to be quiet and mind our own business as we see below:
And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
1 Thessalonians 4:11 [KJV]
Here are three ways to handle a gossip or shut them down nicely.
1. Walk away When you turn and walk away from a gossiper, you literally paralyze his ability to discuss things that are not his business to discuss. You see, in order for the words of a gossip to be successful, there must be two parties involved.
Without a listener, the gossiper’s voice is silenced. If there is no one to listen, there is nothing to tell!
Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.
Pro 26:20 (KJV)
When you run out of wood, the fire goes out; when the gossip ends, the quarrel dies down.
Pro 26:20 (MSG)
2. Shut them down nicely If you are unable to walk away, shut them down nicely. Say words like these:
“Excuse me, but should we be talking like this?” “Excuse me, but I don’t believe it is right for us to talk like this, and I cannot be a part of this conversation.” “Excuse me, but this conversation makes me uncomfortable; I don’t think I want to be a part of it.”
The gossip will know right away that you are not one of those refuse grounds to pour offenses and wounds.
3. Make a Decision Make the decision today to refrain from gossiping. Refuse to even listen to it!
The next time someone comes and talks about things that are not his to decide or to discuss, confront that person about what he is doing.
If he chooses to continue gossiping, walk away from him and maintain your integrity before God and before those who are being discussed.
God bless you.
Have a great day!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I refuse to be a gossip, a busy body, or encourage gossips.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Ask for the grace to focus on your assignment rather than gossips.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Prov 26:20 [MSG] When you run out of wood, the fire goes out; when the gossip ends, the quarrel dies down
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Stop all forms of gossips.
At every point in time, we will always need people around us. We need people to do certain things for us. No one was created to be an island. We were made to live and work with people.
Kings are surrounded by chiefs and elders. Governors are surrounded by advisers and special advisers. Some special advisers also have special advisers, who will critically look at situations and proffer solutions.
In the bible, we see a scene between two kings, which ought to have ended well, but for those around one of these Kings.
The king of the children of Ammon died and David, king of Israel, sent his servants to pay condolence to this son of the late king.
Naturally, this wouldn’t have been an issue, but for those surrounding the king.
But the chiefs of the children of Ammon said to Hanun their lord, Does it seem to you that David is honouring your father by sending comforters to you? has he not sent his servants to go through the town and make secret observation of it, and overcome it?
2 Sam 10:3 [BBE]
This goes to tell you that you can’t allow just anyone into your space. You can’t submit your destiny to just any random guy.
All through marriage, you will be making decisions, so you want to be careful who you align with because a wrong decision can affect you for the rest of your life.
A supposedly harmless condolence visit led to two bloody wars, loss of lives and properties.
Another scenario we see is in the life of King Ahasuerus. He gave an instruction that Queen Vashti should come out and entertain his guests. For reasons best known to her, the Queen refused.
Now Ahasuerus was a good man. He probably would have forgiven her, but for those surrounding him.
If it pleases the king, let a royal decree go out from him, and let it be recorded in the laws of the Persians and the Medes, so that it will not be altered, that Vashti shall come no more before King Ahasuerus; and let the king give her royal position to another who is better than she.
Est 1:19 [NKJV]
What is my point this morning?
Watch those who surround you. Watch those you allow into your personal space. Watch your association. They will influence you in the long run.
That is why the bible says light and darkness cannot walk hand in hand.
You cannot claim to be Christian and be moving freely with unbelievers.
You cannot claim to be a child of light and be surrounded by sons and daughters of baal. It doesn’t work that way.
To you, who need to make the right decision as regards who to settle with, receive illumination!
To you, who need to pull out of that wrong relationship, receive strength!
Shalom!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I will not end up with the wrong man/woman
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Pray that God will lead and put you in the right association.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY 1 Cor 15:33[KJV] Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
To Vivian, something is definitely wrong with her. She isn’t getting any younger. Her biological clock seems not to be only ticking but running. She wished there was a pause button somewhere.
Time after time, the story has been the same. She has experienced relationships after relationships fall like a pack of cards right before her eyes. Nothing seems to be working around her.
The story has always been the same; she will begin a relationship today and everything will appear fine, then all of a sudden, the whole thing comes crashing. Then it happens again and again. That has been her cycle.
She now approaches a new relationship with prayers, not for direction, but for it not to crash.
What should Vivian do? As a child of God, how do you get out of this imbroglio?
Letting go of all offenses
Yes, as simple as that may seem, that is the key to your victory. Get rid of every form of bitterness and offense. Frolicking with bitterness is a deliberate attempt to stop any good thing aggregating your way
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
Heb 12:15 (KJV)
The bible calls it a root. Every plant has a root, but you don’t see it. That’s how bitterness is. It can be submerged in the belly for months, without showing its dangerous fruits until the damage would have been done.
Yes, your “Ex” hurt you and did unbelievable and unprintable things to you. That is not enough reason for you to put your life on hold.
Your parents did so and so to you. Your best friend betrayed you. The other person stabbed you in the back, and then in the front! Don’t stop yourself as a result of that!
Let go and let God. Do not allow hatred and bitterness to have the better part of you. Do not allow anybody’s foolishness to become your own folly.
The Bible calls bitterness a root. When it springs up, many other relationships, opportunities, and doors will be defiled!
When John the Baptist became bitter against his spiritual head, his physical head went for it. Don’t let the daughter of one child of the devil request your head. Don’t let your head become one of the awards on a prize-giving day!
Bitterness and iniquity are cousins. They work together. The earlier you confront it, the better for you.
For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
Act 8:23 (KJV)
Ask God to help you. He is more than willing to do so.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I am not bitter. I walk in love with all men. I am delivered from any negative cycle operating in my life.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Pray against the negative cycle you have noticed.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Hebrews 12:15 (AMPC) Exercise foresight and be on the watch to look [after one another], to see that no one falls back from and fails to secure God’s grace (His unmerited favor and spiritual blessing), in order that no root of resentment (rancor, bitterness, or hatred) shoots forth and causes trouble and bitter torment, and the many become contaminated and defiled by it
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Are you bitter against someone? Let go and let God.
Man is a tripartite being. We are spirits, we live in a body and we have a soul.
The spirit communicates with God. The body communicates with the realm of the physical. The soul houses the will, the emotions and the intellect.
When we give our life to Jesus and we come to know Him, the spirit is regenerated, the soul is in the process of being renewed, but the body will be saved when Jesus comes back.
However, the voice of the body or flesh is loud. So loud that if left to operate, it will superimpose its lusts and cravings over the spirit, thereby leading into a cycle of failure and divers problems. The flesh has no gain or profit therein. None!
You will find that here in the scriptures.
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Joh 6:63 (KJV)
Amplified Bible says the flesh has no benefit. Take a look:
It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the Life-giver]; the flesh conveys no benefit whatever [there is no profit in it]. The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life.
Joh 6:63 (AMPC)
Living in the flesh and taking instructions from the body conveys no benefit. That is quite instructive.
The next probable question is what then do we do to the body?
We are to discipline the body. And we do that by putting the body under!
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
1Co 9:27 (KJV)
You put the body under by not listening to its cravings and instructions. If you keep listening to the voice of the body, you can point others to God while not making it! That will not be our portion in Jesus name.
Decide to stop all habitual sins. Listen to your spirit rather than take instructions from the body.
May God grant you more understanding in Jesus name, Amen.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I put my body under.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Help me to put my body under oh Lord.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY 1 Corinthians 9:27 (TPT) but I train like a champion athlete. I subdue my body and get it under my control, so that after preaching the good news to others I myself won’t be disqualified.
I want to quickly discuss three areas that I believe all singles should pay attention to. These areas will affect all other areas of our lives, invariably.
Here they are:
Food Intake As singles, you need to take care of your body. Watch what you eat! Like someone savagely puts it, don’t let your teeth become shovels with which you dig your grave!
But in reality, that is what happens to some people. That will not be your portion in Jesus name!
Some of us are addicted to certain kinds of food. This is not good.
It is a lack of self-control that will make you overeat. The one who overeats and the one who gets high on drugs are basically the same.
Gluttony is a terrible sin the bible frowns at. The Bible says
For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
Pro 23:21
No matter how strong the spirit is, once the body comes apart, the spirit will have to move. This is why it is important to take care of your body.
Money You are supposed to have money, not more having you. Money is good, but the love of it is evil according to scriptural injunctions.
You must not allow the Mammon spirit to take over your life and regulate it. You must continually love God and never allow the love of money to be prioritized above God in your life.
Honor God with your finances and see him lift you up.
Your Love walk Avoid all works of the flesh as bitterness, bickering, animosities, and unforgiving spirit.
Learn to forgive quickly and really quick. This way, you will not harbor a wrong spirit within you.
Be blessed in Jesus name.
CONFESSION FOR TODAY I am disciplined.
PRAYER FOR TODAY Lord, help me to pay attention to these areas.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY Proverbs 9:10 (KJV)The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
