Building Capacity As Singles and Couples

In simple terms, capacity building simply means developing your skills and abilities to improve your performance and productivity.

This can be applied to your work or career where you aspire to become a better person.

This can also be applied to your relationship and or marriage where you want to become a better spouse to your loved one.

Building Capacity As Singles and Couples

Now, developing or building capacity can be done in a variety of ways which include sharpening yourself, going back to school, self-study and self-development, and so on.

For example, you can build the capacity to be a better husband or wife by giving yourself to study and research on how to become better and following through on what you learn.

Now, the major question is usually knowing what to do but never doing it for one reason or the other.

You know you should give yourself to self-study but the whole year is almost gone and you can’t point to one book that you have read successfully!

Why do I know what to do but never do them?

Your diary is filled with all kinds of instructions and wisdom, which you have never put to use. You listen to messages day after day but never have enough impetus to act on what is there!

Building Capacity As Singles and Couples

What is the thing to do? Here it is

Eph 3:14-16 (MSG) My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, [15] this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. [16] I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—

You need to ask for strength in your inner man so that you can do the things you have always known you should do, but you are not doing!

I love the word Amplified Bible used

Eph 3:16 (AMPC) May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].

You need to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power!

A power that will go deep into your innermost being and personality, alter lazy attitudes, and give you strength to do what needs to be done!

I pray for you, to receive strength in your inner man in Jesus’ name!

God Will Show Up For You!

God Will Show Up For You!

Reading Time: 3 minutes

God Will Show Up For You! Happy new month to you all. God’s faithfulness has kept us alive in the days, months and weeks of 2022.

It can only be God. Despite the so many evils and hardships. It is not just another month, it is the last month of 2022.

God saves the best for the last and He is still the God of the last minute miracle. Yes, He is. So in your marriage and relationship, expect God to move like never before. Why? Because He loves you and He has already given you His best. If Jesus could die for you and I, then there’s nothing God cannot do for us.

God will usually want us to corporate with Him in receiving anything from Him. Look at the gift of salvation for example,  Jesus paid the ultimate price for us. He suffered, was crucified, rose again, defeated death, went to hell, gave us the victory. Guess what? With all that Jesus did, we only gain access to this beautiful privilege and transformed life if we accept His sacrifice for us. God Will Show Up For You!

If you don’t believe and accept, then you forfeit all the right and privileges of redemption. You lose all these if you fail to do your part. Why does God do

this? He is Lord. He is the unquestionable God. He says what He wants and it  becomes a law. We just have to submit to His will.

Nehemiah 8:10 (KJV)
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

God Will Show Up For You! The last phrase says the Joy of the Lord is your strength.

You can only access the strength of the Lord if you are happy. You access the supernatural strength of God by being joyful.

God says I have a better way for you to have the victory on your relationship and marriage. He says my way and method is for you to be joyful.

Yes, I know your husband is cheating on you. He is been unfair. He lies. He is insensitive. He is cruel and unkind. He has accused you and it hurts bad. Your in-laws are not kind to you. Yes, your relationship is complicated. You have had so many broken relationships. You are afraid of what the future holds.

Whatever your situation is, in your own marriage or relationship, let the joy of the Lord be your strength.

Maybe you are struggling financially, things are not just working, you need God’s intervention to pay an urgent bill, you are believing God for the fruit  of the womb. You have suffered loss. I know these situations are not palatable, yet God must be obeyed.

Whatever your case maybe, the way to victory is Joy. God Will Show Up For You!

That joy will not be what you feel like doing. You feel like crying, having a pity party, complaining, being sad and depressed. But God says don’t be sorrowful. Be joyful. Be joyful purposefully. Your joy has a purpose, it becomes strength to you. It becomes the strength of God. How powerful that is.

Strength for what? Strength to do God’s will. Strength to march on in victory.

Remember this last month of the year, be joyful. Say no to every form of sadness around you. Avoid the complaining, murmuring, put on the music and dance. Be thankful to God. Then God will show up for you in your relationship and marriage. He will step in. Because you have chosen to obey His word.

You will have the strength to do the impossible. The strength to take up new project. The strength to rise again. The strength to mount up like the  eagles. The strength to access the abundance God has for us.

Some of us have to fight the battle against unhappiness. Learn to be happy again. Be happy with the little you have and see it multiply. Make up your mind to give this last month to joy. You have been sad enough in the last 11 months. Now is the time to change tactics. Be joyful. God Will Show Up For You!

What Wisdom Can Do For You – Part 2

What Wisdom Can Do For You – Part 2

Reading Time: 2 minutes

CHILDREN-

Continued from yesterday…

4. Wisdom gives Strength. Every child of God needs strength, strength to do the will of God. Sometimes doing what the bible says isn’t cool, especially when you want to impress your friends. So you will agree with me that strength is important in our day-to-day lives. Wisdom will give you and I this strength that’s what the bible says, when you have the wisdom of God then you will also have the strength to do the right thing at the right time.

Let’s refresh our memory with our focus verses;

Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength. By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth. I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. Prov 8:14-18 (KJV)

5. Wisdom will make you reign as Kings do. God created us to reign on earth as kings, all of God’s sons and daughters are kings and queens, but you need God’s wisdom to function in your calling. Kings rule not only because they are called kings, but it’s also because they have the wisdom it takes to rule a kingdom, God wants you to be wise so he can trust you even as a child with certain things, you aren’t too young to be called king.

6. Wisdom will make you decree Justice like Princes. Justice is what God desires for his children on earth. Do you know what justice means? It means upholding what is right in all situations. Our God is a God of Justice, and he wants us to represent him on earth, so we all also have to be a people of justice. How do we decree justice? It’s by having God’s wisdom.

7. You will be able to rule as noble people do. God’s wisdom will not only help you to rule, it will also help people around you to identify you as a noble person whom they can learn from. It’s easy to identify wise people; you will be easily identified if you have the wisdom of God.

Some other things to know about wisdom are;

  • Wisdom loves those who seek it.
  • Those that seek wisdom early find it.

That’s the end of our teaching today, I pray God gives you His wisdom in Jesus name.

PRAYER:
Father in the name of Jesus, please give me your wisdom.

ACTION PLAN:
Memorize the focus verses for today.

DECLARATION:
I have the wisdom of God, sound wisdom is mine.

God, Our Ever-Present Help – Part 2

God, Our Ever-Present Help – Part 2

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We began an interesting topic some days back – understanding God as our ever-present help. And we are exploring Psalms 46:1-3. I told you I was going to take my time to explain the words in the scripture and help you understand what the bible was saying.

We started with “God is our refuge”

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. – Ps 46:1-3 NIV

The next phrase we will be considering says

God is our strength

The word strength can be defined as the quality or state of being strong. This simply means in God, there can never be any form of weakness.

This scripture comes to mind whenever you feel weak, inadequate, incapable, or inefficient. All you need to do at such times is to roll out this scripture over and over again until you literarily feel strength first on your inside, then in the physical.

See another verse of the bible that you can draw strength from.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. – Philippians 4:13

Dear children, do not fret or feel weakened. The God you serve has promised to be a source of strength to you.

May I also add that the word strength can also mean a source of mental or emotional support. This implies God can be your source of support whenever you feel drained emotionally.

Face your day with this kind of confidence and you will see God come through for you.

Prayer:
Dear Father, help me to always trust in your word. Amen.

Action point:
Dedicate time to meditate on God’s word

Declaration:
God is my refuge and strength, my ever-present help in trouble.

I Receive Strength

I Receive Strength

Reading Time: < 1 minute

An interesting topic is before us today: I receive strength. Another wonderful bible verse you should learn is from the book of Philippians.

In chapter four and verse thirteen, you know what you can do as a follower of Christ.

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Phil. 4:13 KJV)

Imagine the possibilities you have access to do with this verse. The writer is showing you that you can do all you desire to as long as you have Jesus.

Your strength doesn’t come from you, your possessions, friends, families, or education. It comes from Jesus.

He gives you the strength to move on and accomplish everything you need to accomplish.

If there is a huge task or challenge in front of you, remember this verse. Say and believe it. Jesus will show you how to carry it out with ease.

It doesn’t mean that you won’t do your part. You pray and act according to the leading of Jesus.

May Jesus continue to strengthen you. Amen.

Prayer:
Lord, Jesus, please I need your strength

Action point:
Write down this verse and recite it. Ask Jesus for His help.

Declaration:
I am helped of God in Jesus name.
