Understanding What God Hates –Part 2

Understanding What God Hates –Part 2

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Hello dear, yesterday we began this interesting topic; what God hates. I showed you what the word of God says in the book of Proverbs.

Let’s see what the bible says;

Here are six things God hates, and one more that he loathes with a passion: eyes that are arrogant, a tongue that lies, hands that murder the innocent, a heart that hatches evil plots, feet that race down a wicked track, a mouth that lies under oath, a troublemaker in the family. –Proverbs 6:16-19 (MSG)

Yesterday we were able to identify some of the things God hates, which are;

1. eyes that are arrogant

2. a tongue that lies

3. hands that murder

4. and a heart that hatches evil plots.

Let’s look at the remaining three this morning!

5. Feet That Race Down A Wicked Track

God hates a foot that is quick to rush into evil, swift in running to mischief, quick to do wrong. God doesn’t want you his child to be excited about doing evil or going to places where people do evil. Be mindful of the places you go to, be excited about going to church and places where the word of God is taught, and stay away from places where people plot evil against others.

6. A Mouth That Lies Under An Oath

This goes beyond just lying, lying under an oath shows a lack of respect and reverence, be a person of integrity. An Oath should be binding, you don’t tell a lie and call the name of Jesus to prove that you are telling the truth when you know it’s a lie. Honour God, and your parents, stay true to your words as well.

7. A Troublemaker In The Family

The last thing this scripture says is God hates troublemakers. God wants you to be a peacemaker, wanting the best for everybody, don’t be the one causing issues and trouble in school or at home, be at your best always, and God will help you in Jesus name

PRAYER:
Father in the name of Jesus, I help me to do your will always. Amen

ACTION PLAN:
Write what you have learned today in points and paste it on a wall in your room

DECLARATION:
I am the beloved of God, and I think as God thinks

Little Children, God Watches You –Part 2

Little Children, God Watches You –Part 2

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Hi dear, yesterday I told you how that God watches you. God keeps watch over us his children and his angels are constantly watching over you and I.

The fact that God watches over us also means that he sees all that we do, and that means everything we engage in whether good or bad, the things we do in secret, and the ones that are open to everyone.

Take for instance, your parents might not know if you disobey them, or when you make faces at them when they correct you, but God sees you, and that is because he doesn’t turn his face away from you for a second.

For a man’s ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all his paths, the evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him; the cords of his sin hold him fast. He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly. –Proverbs 5:21-23 (NIV)

I want you to pay close attention to today’s devotional as I will be shedding more light on our focus verse.

Asides that God sees you when you do good things, and of course bad things, another reason you shouldn’t get yourself involved in bad things is that, they will get you in trouble.

There is never an escape route after choosing to do something wrong, the truth will always be exposed and you will get in trouble. It’s even worse when you are caught in the act or you are found out.

See what the bible says;

the evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him; the cords of his sin hold him fast.

If you continue disobeying what you are told to do, your actions will get you in trouble.

The only way out, and the solution to not getting in trouble is following instructions, and if you follow instructions, it shows that you are disciplined.

Choose to be a disciplined child at all times, obey your parents, do what is right at the right time, and you will be glad you did.

PRAYER:
Father in Jesus name, I receive grace to do the right thing all the time; Amen

ACTION PLAN:
Choose to be deliberate about what you say

DECLARATION:
I am a good child, I am wise, and obedient.

Little Children, God Watches You

Little Children, God Watches You

Reading Time: 2 minutes

One of the things I want you to know is that God watches over us dutifully. Not only does God know our every step, there are angels that God has assigned to watch you every second, and their gaze doesn’t shift from us.

This is how you know that evil cannot come near you, because God watches over you all the time and there are angels at work for you as well little children.

Asides the fact that God keeps watch over our lives, what we do daily is also open to him; the time you wake up every day, when take your bath, God sees your breakfast time, when you get on a bus to go to school.

Let me make this more interesting. God sees you when you tell a lie. God sees you when you make faces at your teachers or tutors in school. God sees you when you gossip about someone to another person. He sees everything you do.

Let me show you what the bible says;

For a man’s ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all his paths, the evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him; the cords of his sin hold him fast. He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly. – Proverbs 5:21-23 (NIV)

So you see, God doesn’t just see everything you do, he also examines them. Do you know what it means to examine something?

To examine means to inspect or study thoroughly to determine the nature or condition of something.

To God your actions are well examined, showing if it be good or otherwise. This is why you have to be mindful and intentional about what you do, and don’t do.

PRAYER:
Father in Jesus name, I receive grace to do the right thing all the time; Amen

ACTION PLAN:
Choose to be deliberate about what you say

DECLARATION:
I am a good child. I am wise and obedient.

Making God The Covenant Partner in Your Marriage

Making God The Covenant Partner in Your Marriage

Reading Time: 2 minutes

COUPLES-

As couples, we are not meant to do marriage without God. He instituted marriage and there’s a picture in His heart, there is a purpose in His heart that needs to be accomplished.

The day you start neglecting God and treating His word with contempt is the day you begin to experience hardship in your marriage.

God’s word is His covenant with us ratified in the blood of Jesus. The word contains all the covenant terms and conditions.

All the requirements of the covenant must be satisfied. When we fulfill our part of the covenant, we automatically enjoy the blessing of the covenant.

That is why the scriptures say I have hidden your word in my heart that I may not sin against you.

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord , that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:  Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord :  But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord , I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. –Jeremiah 31:31 – 33 (KJV)

To enjoy the covenant blessings of marriage, you have to have respect for the word of God. Not only respect it but follow it to the letter.

Your obedience becomes your proof of respect. So Bible says;

Husbands love your wives and wives submit to your own husbands. –Ephesians 5: 23 – 29 (KJV)

That’s the covenant requirement, whether it is convenient or not you have to obey and do just that.

That’s having respect unto the covenant. Jesus had to do the covenant requirement even though it wasn’t easy.

You now see why God will not shift grounds. He is a God of covenant, not a sentimental God.

If He could turn His back on Jesus when He was on the cross because He cannot behold sin and because He was carrying the sin of the whole world, God will turn His back on anyone who treats His covenant with contempt.

Let’s begin to respect the covenant God has with us. Let’s begin to do what the word says despite what our body wants or what our flesh is saying.

God grant us more understanding.

God bless your marriage.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I honour God’s word and covenant in my life, and marriage

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Father in Jesus name, strengthen me to honour your covenant all the days of my life.

Having God As Your Husband

Having God As Your Husband

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Every wife should get to a point where no matter how loving and romantic and cordial they are with their spouses, they still give God His place.

God deserves the first place in our lives and He wants to have all of our hearts, minds, energy, and best of our beings. God is a jealous God and He will not share His glory with any other man, not even our husbands.

Our husbands no matter how much they love us, they cannot love us like Jesus. They cannot die for us. That’s why Jesus is the lover of our souls. He alone can love deeply and extravagantly.

If our husbands are godly, God will reveal to them how to love and treat us. But that also depends on how well they can receive from the Lord.

Our spouses at the very best are still ‘human’. They are not given to meet all our needs. They can only try. God wants our attention, focus, love and worship.

You cannot beg to be loved. Rather, look to God to meet your deepest emotional needs.

Most spouses’ don’t even understand their wives. We are so wired differently. So sometimes, they are not being wicked, they don’t just have a clue on how to love us the right way and that is when God steps in. He wants to meet all our emotional, spiritual, social, and physical needs. He knows us because He created us.

There are some of our needs that we don’t even understand or can articulate in the right way or with the right words, making it difficult for even our husbands to try to meet.

So take the frustration off your husband and off your marriage. Let your spouse do what he can do and allow God do what He can and wants to do.

Don’t let your esteem or self worth come solely from your spouse. Your self worth should come from God.

You are very special to God. You worth so much to Him. You are royalty. You are the apple of His eyes. God will go all the way to protect you.

For thy Maker is thine husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. For the Lord hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God. – Isaiah 54:5 – 6 KJV

The scripture is telling us that thy Maker is thy husband. God is not just trying to be our husband or writing an application to be our husbands.

We have to receive this words, believe it and walk in the light of it. We have to mediate on it so much until it becomes real to our hearts.
God is saying we are Mrs God. What a privilege! We are not just His princesses, we are married to Him.

He is our maker. He understands us. He knows our wiring because He put them there. He knows what words to speak to us per time.

We are married to the Almighty, all powerful, the wealthiest being on the earth and in heaven. Hallelujah! Its so comforting and refreshing to know God finds you so lovely, flawless and gorgeous.

Some other women are being treated harshly by their husbands. They are oppressed, bullied and abused. God wants you to shift your focus from the hurt you are experiencing. Give that hurt to God your husband. He knows how to fix it. God is introducing Himself as the Lord of hosts. You are Royalty, her Royal Majesty.

Never forget that. Find a way to always remind yourself that. I always wear a tiny chain around my neck to remind me that I am royalty. I am loved by God.

I will get into what it means to have God as your husband tomorrow by God’s grace.

God bless our marriage.

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I enjoy the love of God in my marriage.

PRAYERS FOR THE DAY
Father I receive help to be all you desire me to be.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Isaiah 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
