What It Really Means To Jeun Soke By Pastor Dunamis (27th October 2021)

Reading Time: 3 minutes

What It Really Means To Jeun Soke was taught by Rev. Dunamis Okunowo on the 27th of October 2021 at Shouts of Grace Center, Joke Plaza, Beside Trans Amusement Park, Bodija-UI Road, Ibadan.

In his teaching, Rev. Dunamis made mention of the following important points:

Food is extremely important; the way you look today has somewhat to do with what you eat.

One of the first instructions of God to man was about what to eat and what not to eat.

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Genesis 2:16-17 (NKJV)

The devil tempted man through food.

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

Genesis 3:1 (NKJV)

Food can make a man lose his blessing.

And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.

Genesis 25:34 (NKJV)

However food is for strength, not for pleasure.

And the angel of the LORD came back the second time, and touched him, and said, “Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you.”

1 Kings 19:7 (NKJV)

Blessed are you, O land, when your king is the son of nobles, And your princes feast at the proper time– For strength and not for drunkenness!

Ecclesiastes 10:17 (NKJV)

Hunger can birth wickedness.

So we boiled my son, and ate him. And I said to her on the next day, ‘Give your son, that we may eat him’; but she has hidden her son.”

2 Kings 6:29 (NKJV)

You can’t afford to be hungry in the spirit, if not you will do things you did not imagine you can do.

It is when your spirit man is starved/famished that you slide into the flesh.

We are still considering what it really means to jeun soke.

How To eat

1. Find that which you need to eat

Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.

Jeremiah 15:16 (NKJV)

There’s first a finding process. This is a deliberate process.
There’s a labour of faith, where you labour for what to eat.

Before you embark on any journey (marriage, business, etc), eat well! The reason we often fall flat on our face is cos we don’t eat well before embarking on those tasks.

You eat for strength.
When you find and eat the word, a testimony will surely emerge from it

After you find, you must eat. The eating process is meditation. First of all you memorize it so that you can turn it in your heart anywhere you are. This is what it really means to jeun soke.

God cannot refuse His Word!

The more you think on that Scripture, the more circumstances align to make it come to pass.
God listens to His Word, not to some emotions or sentiments.

What you find and eat is what will work for you.

2. To eat is to obey

If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;

Isaiah 1:19 (NKJV)

3. You take communion constantly.

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”

Mark 14:22 (NKJV)

The problem of humanity began with eating; the deliverance lies in eating too – eating the word, His body, and His blood.

The instructions of God are your gateways to wealth, increase, breakthrough, etc.

When you eat, it will show in your result.

Be Grateful For Food, Clothing And Shelter

Be Grateful For Food, Clothing And Shelter

Reading Time: 2 minutes

God provides for all your needs. Be grateful for food, clothing, shelter, education, and so many other things that God provides for you through your parents and other people.

The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want. Psalm 23:1 AMP.

“I will feed my flock and I will let them lie down [to rest].” Says the Lord God Ezekiel 34:15 AMP

Be grateful for having all these things. Without Him providing for your parents to get you all the things you’re enjoying right now, they won’t be able to provide for you. So be grateful for food you eat everyday.

Show your gratefulness to Him by first thanking Him then your parents. Let it show in your behavior towards Him.

Thank Him for all the times He has provided food for your family to eat, that every morning, afternoon and night, there was food to eat in your house. Yes, be grateful for food.

Be thankful for the clothes you have on, that you are not walking around naked or have never done so and will never do so.

Thank Him for the house you live in, that during sunny days you had a place to stay away from the sun. During the rainy seasons, you had a place to stay, away from the rains. Be grateful for food, and shelter.

Thank Him for your shoes; the new and old ones. That you don’t walk barefooted is a blessing.

Thank Him for the schools you have attended, are attending and will attend. It’s because of His great love for you.

The Lord is your Shepherd, He will provide for all your needs in Jesus’ name, Amen. So be grateful for food, and everything God does for you.

Prayer:
Father, I thank You for all that I have. Thank you for food, clothing and shelter. I will never take for granted all these things you have given me. Help me to always be grateful. Amen.

Action point:
Be grateful for food, clothing, and shelter. Show your gratitude to God in a special way.

Christ Has Called You To Give To The Poor and Needy

Christ Has Called You To Give To The Poor and Needy

Reading Time: 2 minutes

When did I see You, Jesus Christ and gave you food?”

When you gave that hungry boy in your class food to eat at school.”

“When did I give you my clothes to wear?”

“When you gave that girl on your street your old clothes.”

The sentences above are scripted from Matthew 25:34-36.

“then the king will say to the good people on his right, ‘come. My Father has given you his blessing. Come and receive the kingdom God has prepared for you since the world was made. I was hungry, and you gave me food. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was alone and away from home, and you invited me into your house. I was without clothes, and you gave me something to wear. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’” Matt. 25: 34-36 ICB

If you read further down this chapter you will see what the people asked him and his response to them.

Jesus Christ has called you to be help for others. Give to people and not grudgingly. Give with joy because that is the best way to give.

Imagine Jesus Christ telling you this when you finally meet him? How wonderful does it sound? It sounds great to me!

Don’t look down on the poor and needy. Instead, be a help to them. Share with others who don’t have as much as you do. Give your time and effort towards helping a classmate understand a lesson at school. Comfort a friend who has lost a loved one. Follow a friend to visit a sick family member in the hospital. Pray for a friend whose family is going through a hard financial period. Ask your parents if you can take foodstuff to them.

What you can do for the poor and needy is plenty. Ask the Lord for how to help them.

May the Lord make you a helper to the poor and needy. Amen.

Prayer:
My Lord, Jesus Christ, teach me to give to others. Show me ways I can be of help to the poor and needy. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Action point:
Is there a friend or neighbor who you think will need some of the clothes you don’t wear anymore? Ask your parents for approval first.

Praying For Others – Pray For Provision

Praying For Others – Pray For Provision

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Another thing you can ask God to do for people is to provide. God is our great provider, and that is the confidence you use to pray for provision for the people around you.

The bible tells us that God meets all our needs. He is able to provide our daily bread. He is able to make us lie down in green pastures. He was the One that provided manna for the children of Israel as they journeyed through the wilderness! And just like He met all the needs of the Israelites while they were on their way to the Promised land, He is able and willing to meet yours too. He gave the Israelites food, water, healing, protection, and lots more. So you must learn to pray for provision.

And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:19 (AMP)

Pray that God will provide for the needs of your friends, especially those whose parents are struggling to pay their fees at school. Ask that God will send help their way.

Pray for provision for neighbours who have needs too. God can do this for them. God can bring surprises their way, if only you can pray for provision. Pray for your parents. Ask that God will provide for them to provide for you and your siblings. Pray for people who are around you whose needs you can see and know of. Pray that God will give them whatever they need.

When you pray for provision for others, God will provide for you too. Besides, you don’t know who is even praying for you too. That’s just the way it works.

Remember, with God nothing is impossible. So, don’t think your prayers are in vain. God hears them all.

May the Lord answer your prayers, as you pray for provision. Amen.

Prayer:
Lord, please provide for all the people I know and don’t know who need provision of any kind. Send help to them right now. Amen.

Action point:
Start to pray for provision for others.
