Experiencing peace in marriage is priceless. You don’t want to know what some other couples experience when they have no peace.
Peace is our birthright as believers in Christ. It is part of the things Jesus bequeathed us with. The peace He gave us is all-round peace. Not some peace in the workplace and crisis at home with the children and lack of peace in your health. No, He died to give us all-round peace.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. – Isa 53:5
Jesus actually paid the price for us to experience peace. If you are not experiencing peace in any area of your life, the devil is cheating you out of what belongs to you.
Jesus already paid the price for your peace. He was chastised for you to experience peace. You are not just to hear about peace but experience it in your life and marriage.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. – Joh 14:27
We can claim the peace of Jesus. You can experience peace with your in-laws, peace with your money, peace in your neighborhood, all-round peace.
Let no man trouble me for I bear in my bodies the marks of the Lord Jesus Christ, Paul said.
Here are five ways to experience peace
1. Know what Jesus has done for you by His shed blood on the cross.
2. Learn of these truths and begin to appropriate them. You can’t afford to be lazy about it. You have to search scriptures diligently.
3. Begin to confess that which you discovered from scriptures
4. Begin to take practical steps to enjoy peace in every area of your life.
5. Be a person of peace. Avoid being quarrelsome. Stop being overly aggressive, hot-tempered. Avoid jumping to conclusions on matters.
God help us to experience all-round peace this year in Jesus name
God bless our marriage
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I experience all round peace in my marriage.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Pray against everything that wants to steal your peace
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. – Joh 14:27
The blood of Jesus is the foundation of the victory that God has given to us as His children. It is by the blood that we live. We must therefore learn how to appropriate the Blood over our children.
1 John1:7 ESV But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
The blood of the Lamb of God is very important in our lives. We should therefore teach our children about the efficacy of that blood – the blood of our Messiah.
What are some of the things that the Blood of the Lamb does for us? Everything! Yes, the Blood does everything. But we will just be outlining some here. The blood of Jesus cleanses from all sins. This means that the eternal blood of the Son of God makes us clean, regardless of how stained we might have been as a result of past errors. What a beautiful experience that is – to be made a totally new creature.
The blood of Jesus nullifies every finished work of the devil. This means that in areas the devil might want to play a smart one on us, we have the blood to speak for and defend us
Through the blood of our Saviour, we have been redeemed and made whole.
A wide and pleasant smile plastered over Tade’s face as he collected the bowl of food from the food seller at the school’s canteen. He couldn’t hold back the urge to pick a piece of meat and slide it into his mouth. But anger was lurking somewhere in the corner!
He had hardly taken two bites when someone crashed into him, sending both him and the plate of food to the ground. To make matters worse, his uniform was soiled with oil.
His eyes went from the food on the floor to the culprit standing over him. He heard the whole canteen go up in laughter as he focused on Yinka, his anger rising.
‘Why did you push me?’ he asked Yinka. Yinka chuckled and shrugged his shoulders. Tade saw this and just like all the other times like this, he knew Yinka would never apologize. This fueled his anger the more. ‘That was my lunch.’ ‘So?’ Yinka said, daring Tade to do his worst.
Tade bolted up in a flash and smacked Yinka straight in the face, followed by punches in the stomach and a powerful one to the jaw. Yinka staggered back, tasted the blood in his mouth, and spat out a tooth. Anger now ruled in the boys. Instantly Yinka responded with his own punches and the fight began.
At the end of the day, both boys were sitting in the Principal’s office with oil-stained uniforms, swollen faces, missing teeth, painful torsos, and no lunch.
Getting angry and acting out the anger, just like what happened in the story above, is why you shouldn’t let your anger control you. Tade got angry at what Yinka had done and attacked him, leading Yinka to act out his anger also. In the end, both boys had lost a lot.
When you hit back at someone, you likely will do so more than they hit back at you. And the person will also hit back at you more than you did. The cycle continues like that till it escalates to a point when both of you would have lost so much at the end. That is how anger cycles.
May God grant you the grace to hold back your anger. Amen.
Prayer: Lord, give me the grace to not be angry and act out my anger. Help me to keep my cool. Amen.
Action point: Pray that God will help you handle your anger well.
Yesterday we started a series on praying for others and the sort of prayer God loves to hear. Today we will look at how to pray for healing for others.
Do you know someone who is sick? It may be a classmate, a church buddy, a neighbour, a friend at your lesson class or someone that belongs to the same club as you. The good news is that you can pray for them. Ask God to heal them and make them whole again.
You have the power to pray for healing for others. This is simply because the blood of Jesus has the power to heal all manner of sicknesses and diseases; so you can use the blood of Jesus to pray for the people you know that are passing through sickness.
Declare healing bible verses over them, mentioning their names as you do so. Divine healing is the portion of Christians. God does not like sicknesses, because it causes pain to His children; that is the reason He made healing possible. And that is also the reason that Jesus healed a lot of people when He was on earth. And you too, with the authority in the Name and Blood of Jesus, you can pray for healing for anyone that is sick, and God will heal the person. It’s so cool, isn’t it?
The world is still dealing with the effects of the covid-19 pandemic. Pray that God will heal those who have contracted the virus.
Pray, believing God will heal them. Pray for healing for people. May the Lord give you the boldness to do so. Amen
Prayer: Father, I ask for divine healing for (mention their name(s)). I ask through the name of Jesus. I declare that they are healed and made whole.
Action point: Start to pray for healing for people who you know are sick.
