Reading Time: 2 minutes

Keeping our family together during the tough times, challenging times and good times is something we must all strive to do.

The earlier we start to do these things, the better for us. It is better to inculcate certain virtues into members of our families as standard and allow them grow with it as the family grows.

Challenges in life are inevitable but we can go through whatever comes our way easier, if we have a supportive and encouraging family.

He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. – Luk 6:48

Let’s build our marriage and family on the rock. Let your spouse and children be solidly built, so that when the storm comes, they will not crash.

Let me share five of those things.

1. Read God’s word together

Form a good habit of reading scriptures as a family. The children will love it and it will not be a burden reading God’s word when they are older.

2. Pray together

A family that prays together stays together. Where there is unity, God’s blessings abound. Your family knows how to pray by praying.

3. Eat together

Eating together is so powerful. Even Jesus eat the Passover with his disciples and teaches us to take communion.

4. Say the truth to each other and be sincere

Be open and truthful to each other. Say it as it is.

5. Go to church together

Your church is not a social gathering, it is the place you are being fed spiritually. It also affords you the opportunity to pay your tithe for your heavens to be opened.

When you do all these, you are building wisely and securing the future of your family.

God bless your marriage.
