Love on Hold: Strategies for Handling Delays
Reading Time: 3 minutesLove on Hold: Strategies for Handling Delays
Hey, let’s start with singles. What do you do if you’re single, especially if you’re a single lady dealing with delay? You’ve prayed, confessed, given offerings, seized moments, and tried to secure your future, yet nothing seems to happen. What do you do at times like these? It can get frustrating because it seems like God answers everyone else’s prayers except yours.
Come on, let’s be honest. Haven’t you felt that sometimes it seems like someone less spiritual, who doesn’t serve or pray as much as you, is married without any issues?
And then you start thinking about a lot of things. Is there a curse? But haven’t we been told that we’re redeemed from the curse? Or maybe I’m not attractive enough? But that can’t be true because even those who aren’t conventionally attractive are happily married with children!
If it’s about looks, you’re fine. If it’s about education, you’ve done your best. If it’s about serving God, you’re committed. So why the delay and what should be one’s position in handling delays?
There are some self-imposed limitations and delays caused by disobedience to God—ignoring His voice in relationships, and things like that.
But what about when someone avoids wrongdoing and still feels like prayers go unanswered?
Now, I have two important things to share with you today! Two things that will help you in handling delays.
Firstly, never give up on yourself! In your situation, God intends to reveal His glory because you’re His child. The devil wants to frustrate you into giving up!
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9 KJV)
Keep doing good. Don’t believe the lie that bad girls get married faster. There’s no proof of that. God doesn’t work by statistics. When David took a census in the Bible, God punished him and the nation. God can bypass millions to reach you when you please Him. No matter how many get married every day, your spouse is unique!
The key in that verse is to not get tired. Don’t grow weary of serving God. Don’t get upset. Don’t get mad at your Creator. The devil lies, but God’s promises are sure. Stay strong in doing good. Don’t ruin years of service and waiting with a careless act out of frustration. You’ve done everything you know to do, so “Having done all, stand!” Don’t get discouraged because someone on your block just got married. Rejoice with them; soon, they’ll celebrate with you! That’s one of the strategies for handling delays.
Then it says, “in due season”! There’s a season for you that even hell can’t stop. When Jesus’s due season came, He rose despite opposition!
I see you rising despite delays. I see God wiping away years of waiting, bringing you unimaginable joy! I see Him honoring your integrity!
Go ahead, pray in tongues a bit, and declare those words over your life!
Finally, that scripture concludes,
“In due season you will reap, if you faint not!”
Don’t faint! Fainting means missing out on God’s goodness and visitation. Stay alert. Stay close to His word. Don’t stop going to church. Refuse to get tired, because your glory is near!
Remember what Scripture says:
“Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” (1 Corinthians 2:8 KJV)
That’s your anthem! If the devil had known, he wouldn’t have caused delays. Delay won’t deny you; it’s a setup from God to bring you to a better place! The devil will regret messing with you because God’s plan for you will prevail.
I celebrate with you in advance. This is your season, your time. Keep staying in God’s word, serving Him, sowing seeds, praising Him, and handling delays like the mature Christian you are.
You are blessed!
Today, God will honor you. He remembers your seeds sown. He lifts your head and makes today productive for you in Jesus’ name!
