The Greatest Investment For Your Lover or Spouse

The Greatest Investment For Your Lover or Spouse

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Greatest Investment For Your Lover or Spouse. Sally and George talked into the night. The love between them was palpable. As they gazed away at the sky dotted with stars that seem to cooperate with their emotions, Sally turned and looked at George. George was expecting a kiss. At last, she was going to yield.

Thoughts raced through his mind. The earth seems to stand still. George has been transported away in the rapturous romantic setting as he imagined what it would be like locking lips with Sally…and he was enjoying it until his fantasy was rudely interrupted by a question from Sally,

He woke up from his fantasy adventure, rather disappointed.

“George, what do you think would be your greatest investment into my life?”

“Hmmm…”

George had no idea what response Sally wanted exactly and he didn’t want to say something that will douse the romantic fire of the night.

“It would be your quest for knowledge. It would be an ongoing investment in your mind! Sally said.

Chai! This girl doesn’t know the times and seasons at all! George thought!

He sheepishly nodded his head in agreement with what Sally said. “Yes, the mind!” He said.

The Johnsons, who got married a few years back have not been enjoying their marriage as they expected. They couldn’t place their hands on what could be wrong.

Rather than search for answers, they kept on blaming themselves. The quarrels became incessant.

The reality is that every couple comes into the marriage with their baggage. These items of baggage are filled with experiences, opinions, outlooks, and so on.

However, the place of marriage is a place of learning and unlearning!

You have to be open to knowing more and also realize that you don’t know a lot!

What is The Greatest Investment For Your Lover or Spouse?

It is your quest to know more that ensures you will keep working on your marriage, making adjustments, and investing heavily in knowing more! This is The Greatest Investment For Your Lover or Spouse

Who is that woman you are married to?

Who is that man you want to spend the rest of your life with?

Who is that guy you are walking the aisle with?

Who is that lady that will bear your children and be their mother?

How can you keep pleasing each other?

Like the scriptures says:

Pro 1:20-23 (AMPC) Wisdom cries aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the markets; [21] She cries at the head of the noisy intersections [in the chief gathering places]; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: [22] How long, O simple ones [open to evil], will you love being simple? And the scoffers delight in scoffing and [self-confident] fools hate knowledge? [23] If you will turn (repent) and give heed to my reproof, behold, I [Wisdom] will pour out my spirit upon you, I will make my words known to you.

Wisdom is everywhere. They are in the books. They are encapsulated in people around you!

This is what Kisses and Huggs Club devotionals attempt to do. To daily bring the wisdom of God to you for your relationships and marriage! Bringing to you The Greatest Investment For Your Lover or Spouse on a daily basis

Make up your mind to invest in your relationship and marriage today! It is The Greatest Investment For Your Lover or Spouse

May God bless your relationship/marriage

More Valentine’s Wisdom For Married Couples

More Valentine’s Wisdom For Married Couples

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Today is Valentine’s day, otherwise known as Lovers day.

The singles seem to celebrate this day more than couples because they are still very much in love. The butterflies are still flying in their bellies. Most couples have allowed the butterflies to die over the years.

This shouldn’t be. Every couple should still have love in their eyes, and they should still make each other’s hearts tingle. We have to learn to keep love alive.

Through the twists, bends, and turns of the married life, God wants to step in and help us live a fulfilling married life. God’s help comes to us by Him giving us instructions to follow.

Like the instructions given to wives we discussed yesterday, the married men have their own instructions to follow.

Did you miss out on yesterday’s devotional, we’ve got you covered kindly go HERE. For KHC video Devotionals kindly go HERE

I believe if both wives and husbands can be devoted to obeying these instructions, we will see the love of God manifest in our marriages.

In the same way you married men should live considerately with [your wives], with an intelligent recognition [of the marriage relation], honoring the woman as [physically] the weaker, but [realizing that you] are joint heirs of the grace (God’s unmerited favor) of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered and cut off. [Otherwise you cannot pray effectively.] -1Pe 3:7 (AMP)

The key things to note here are:

1. Married men should live considerately with their own wives.

2. Intelligent recognition of the marriage relation

3. Honoring the woman (wife)

4. Physically the weaker.

5. Realizing that you are joint heirs of the grace of life.

6. That your prayers be not hindered and cut off.

7. Otherwise you cannot pray effectively.

Let all men study these instructions meditatively.

CONFESSION OF THE DAY

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Lord I receive grace to understand my spouse more

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

These Lovers Should Not Marry – Part 3

These Lovers Should Not Marry – Part 3

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Continued from yesterday.

For previous day’s devotional, go HERE

4. Sentimental Lovers

When two people who are sentimental get married, their lives will be devoid of principles that are meant to keep them focused and energetic in their marriage and home.

Two sentimental people will always judge a situation from a sentimental point of view rather than principles. In no time, they can ruin themselves because you cannot go very far living and swimming in the ocean of sentiments.

They would not be able to achieve much because they would have excuses for their mediocre lifestyles.

They would make wrong decisions that are not founded on God’s word and of course, those decisions would not endure. They can also lose money based on their sentimental investments.

Sticking to God’s principles is difficult for these kinds of couples. They are unable to set their faces like a flint. They easily compromise based on their sentimental leanings.

To them, everything can be compromised as long as it appeals to their emotions.

5. Angry Lovers

Two angry people in a relationship and marriage cannot go far. See the scriptures:

Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul (Proverbs 22:24-25 KJV)

The scripture here advises that you should not get involved with somebody that has anger problems and who refuses to work at it. An angry man can take a knife or gun one day and end it all. An angry wife can ruin things in seconds.

Take a look at the Message Translation:

Don’t hang out with angry people; don’t keep company with hotheads. Bad temper is contagious–– don’t get infected (Proverbs 22:24-25 Message)

There were two brothers in the Bible who were both given to anger. Their story did not end well.

Simeon and Levi are brothers; tools of violence are their weapons. [6] Oh my soul, do not come into their secret. Let not my honor be united with their assembly. For in their anger they killed a man, and in their self-will they hamstrung a bull. – Gen 49:5-6 (MKJV)

Their father placed a curse on them as a result!

Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce, and their wrath, for it was cruel. I will divide them in Jacob and scatter them in Israel. – Gen 49:7 (AMPC)

That is where anger ends. Scattering! Division!

To be continued tomorrow…

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I will not miss it in marriage.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Lord, open the eyes of my understanding.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Eph 1:18 [GW] Then you will have deeper insight. You will know the confidence that he calls you to have and the glorious wealth that God’s people will inherit.

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY
Pray for insight

The Art Of Running Away With Your Lover – Part 2

The Art Of Running Away With Your Lover – Part 2

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Continued from yesterday…

Take me away with you! Let’s run off together! An elopement with my King-Lover! We’ll celebrate, we’ll sing, we’ll make great music. Yes! For your love is better than vintage wine. Everyone loves you—of course! And why not?Son 1:4 (MSG)

There is an elopement with God, your lover that will extricate your life’s struggles and agonies!

Lord, I want to elope with you!

The way you desire to just be with your lover in one resort where you are looking into each other’s eyes and verbalizing some romantic nonsensical words is the same way you should desire to elope with God into some retreat, verbalizing your cares and your concerns.

The way you enjoy looking into the eyes of your lover is the way you should enjoy beholding the word of God.

The way your adrenaline flows at the appearance of your lover is the way your passion should come alive at the mention of His name!

God’s love is better than vintage wine!

Doth wine make you merry? Oh, try the love of God. It will get you drunk in Him!

Holy Ghost joy will flood your soul and His word will become a joy and rejoicing of your heart.

It is when your love for God is fully expressed that God becomes committed to finding that loved one!

God’s love teaches you how to love your lover appropriately and not selfishly. God’s love teaches you how to be romantic, how to be a lover boy or girl, how to be faithful to your spouse, and how not to cheat on your loved one!

Before you fall in love, before you give your heart out, is he a God-lover? Has he run away with God before? Has he eloped with God into some private moments with divinity?

If he hasn’t done that, he cannot love you appropriately! You are too precious to be loved illegally.

When he or she comes asking for your love, ask him or her, have you eloped? Have you run off with Him? Then that determines whether you can run with him or her.

If you dare run away with the one that has not run with God, not even GPS can locate you!

You will not disappear from heavenly radar! You will not be lost under His favour radar! God will give you His direction! You will not be confused!

Be blessed!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I choose to run off with God.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Ask for inner strength to develop and sustain a relationship with God

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Song 1:4 [GNT]Take me with you, and we’ll run away; be my king and take me to your room. We will be happy together, drink deep, and lose ourselves in love. No wonder all women love you!

ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY
Cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit

The Art of Running Away With Your Lover

The Art of Running Away With Your Lover

Reading Time: 2 minutes

I was newly in courtship. She was my first love. And the last!

Never have fallen in love with any other person in my life like I was in love!

Our love seemed scripted in heaven. And so it was. And it still is!

It was doing me gra gra! Better than wine! And it is still doing me o!

Take me away with you! Let’s run off together! An elopement with my King-Lover! We’ll celebrate, we’ll sing, we’ll make great music. Yes! For your love is better than vintage wine. Everyone loves you—of course! And why not?Son 1:4 (MSG)

Just wanted to look into those adorable eyes, set in an angelic face, with the most gentle smiles emanating in measured doses.

The pouting lips, the nose that looks like the road that leads to Galilee…everything seemed custom-made for me!

I wanted to run away with her alone to some far-far-away land where it would just be the two of us, enraptured in pure love and doing no other thing but being in love.

I imagined those movies, and I am in the cast with Sophia, in some majestic palace, gold-adorned, with several servants and we are just singing, celebrating, and rejoicing!

But the scripture above is not about me and Sophia!

It is not about you and your babe!

It is not about you and your TDH – tall, dark and handsome!

The scripture is talking about you and God!

Lord, take me away with you!

Are you really in love with God? The proof is in your intense desire to run away with Him in His word!

The authenticity of your romance with divinity is in the intensity of your desire to run away into His presence!

You want celebration in your life! Do you want to sing songs of victory? Then get ready to run off with Him!

The more you ignore Him, the more your destiny suffers!

To be continued tomorrow…

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I choose God over and over again.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Ask for an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit
