Do you know that the Lord meets your needs? There are several verses one can recite offhand. One of it is the shepherds psalm.
Every child is taught right from Sunday school days. It is so easy to memorize.
The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want – Psa 23:1
The Lord is…it didn’t say the Lord was…
This assures us that God is very ready to meet out immediate needs.
God is a God of the now, one that can relate with you based on what you are going through at every point in time.
Here is another verse to confirm that;
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. – Psalms 46:1
There you have it again. God is… Isn’t it wonderful to know this God?
Children, it is not enough to be able to recite this verse or several others verses offhand, you must allow the revelation of these verses to hit you and stick with you.
That way, when faced with any form of trial, you have what it takes to stand tall, even in the midst of contradictions.
Ideally, when someone gives you a gift or offers a compliment, you ought to say thank you (that’s gratitude). Why?
Because it shows courtesy, that you are well brought up and not a country bumpkin.
Also, it’s a sacrifice on the person’s side. They decided to give you out of love or they saw that you needed something.
Even with a compliment, the person took his or her time to really look at you and decide to appreciate you for how you dressed, your hair, how clean your nails are, or how nice you smell. They noticed you.
The least you can say is thank you with a very genuine and friendly smile.
If someone pays you a compliment about how good your grades are, say thank you.
The Bible tells us to be thankful and that when we are grateful for what we have, we will receive more.
There are lots of people out there looking for who to notice them and would be grateful to just have one person say to them “you look good.” Remember to say thank you the next time you get a gift or compliment.
Prayer: Lord, I am grateful for all I have. Thank you for providing for my needs. Thank you for the compliments I have gotten and will get. Help me to always appreciate whatever I receive from others. Amen.
Action plan: Consciously be aware of people’s compliments. Ensure you reply with a smile and “thank you.”
Declaration: My children are grateful. They show appreciation in all they do.
One of the most important things in life is to live a life that pleases God. It’s good to be loved by your parents, and be the best in school, have nice friend and wear nice things, but a righteous life is much more important than all this.
God wants you to always put him at the beginning and end of every decision you make. He wants you to consider what Jesus will do in any and every situation you find yourself.
How do I know this?
Ecclesiastes 12:13 [KJV] Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
This is what the Bible says
The end of the matter is to fear God and keep his commandments
In fact, when we do this as little children, God is happy with us and blesses your parents to take better care of you.
1. Fear God.
Live in constant reverence for God. Think of how he will feel if you didn’t care for your friends. Think of how God will feel if you don’t tell the whole truth to your parents. That’s how to fear God.
2. Keep his commandments
Doing what the Bible asks you to do.
Don’t lie. Don’t steal. It’s all listed in the ten commandments God gave Moses. To make it easy for you, love God and honour him and then love your neighbor as yourself. When you love those around you, then you won’t steal or lie to them.
Are you thinking of how to do this? It’s easy with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Just say these words;
Precious Holy Spirit, come and dwell in my heart today and forever. Teach me how to love God and everyone around me, help me to always live a life that pleases God, all this I pray in Jesus name. Amen
Believe that the Holy Spirit is already with you to help you achieve this.
I await your testimonies.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to live a life that pleases you; Amen
Action point: Ask the Holy Spirit for help
Declaration: I am an obedient child in Jesus name, Amen.
Betty: You are not reading your Bible well. It says, a merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance. In order words, when you trust God, your heart will be merry because you know God will do it. If your heart is merry, it will show on your face! Shikena! (Period!)
Angie: So my face is driving men away?
Betty: Yes, men are moved by sight firstly before they are moved by your heart. The moment you turn your beautiful face to that of a masquerade, like every problem in the world is on you, guys don’t wait to confirm what is in your heart before they take off.
Angie: But some are still interested in me like this
Betty: So why are you not married?
Angie: I wonder o…
Betty: You don’t need to go to wonderland; did you not say the other time that all the people that come your way are asking for sex?
Angie: Yes
Betty: Because they are not ready for commitment, all they want is fun, so they don’t mind the way you look as long their lust is satisfied.
Angie: Many of them like that
Betty: And that is how you also delay yourself
Angie: How, Auntie?
Betty: By consenting to give them what they ask for, you think you are securing them, but in essence, they will never marry you like that.
Angie: Why are men so wicked?
Betty: It is not about being wicked, it is because they don’t have fear of God.
Angie: Na the same thing joor! (It is the same thing)
Betty: Guys that don’t have the fear of God will try and persuade you to compromise with them, and when you do, they eventually won’t marry you.
Angie: Why would they do that?
To be continued tomorrow
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I will not miss it in marriage.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, help me to trust you.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The Oxford dictionary of English words defines unity as the state of being united or joined as a whole. The state of forming a complete and harmonious whole, especially in an artistic context; A thing for a complete whole.
God is a God of unity. You can see the perfect unity in the Trinity; the three Godhead working together in perfect unity as one – God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, all working together as one, having the same voice, speaking the same language. They are one whole. That is why we say the three in one God.
God the father, son and the Holy Spirit are different entities with different and distinct assignment, yet they are so much in unity.
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. – Joh 17:21-23
God created husband and wife to be one
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one. – Gen 2:24
The original mandate in the heart of God concerning marriage is that they will be the example of the God head here on earth. They are to be one flesh even though they are different individuals with different ideologies, belief systems etc
May God help us that our oneness may be complete in Jesus name.
I will continue tomorrow.
God bless our marriages.
