It goes on and on. The underlying thing I want you to see is that the moment God’s word is being challenged on any level; know that the devil is at work. The Holy Spirit will never come to counteract God’s word or debunk it; He only comes to expound it.
Never yield ground to the devil. Resist him as Jesus Christ did and he will flee.
Adam and Eve yielded to the devil and lost the fullness of God’s plan.
Jesus came to restore that loss, but he would have failed if he yielded to the devil when he was being tempted.
Every compromise you cooperate with alters something in the spirit realm. Make up your mind to resist the devil every day and consciously with the help of the Holy Spirit.
You cannot be yielding to your flesh and the devil every time if you want to go far! You cannot be saying some girl seduced you all the time while you sleep around recklessly. You cannot be saying a man forced you into compromise with his money.
The devil is not that powerful, he is as powerful as you allow him in your life. He needs your permission before he can trip, and trap you. Never allow him again. Don’t give him an inch!
Do it God’s way. There will no longer be delays in Jesus name. God will perfect everything in your relationship as you make up your mind to resist the devil.
Never forget this, if you can keep feeding your spirit with God’s word daily and consistently, and you believe His word, that same word of the Lord will keep you!
That is why we have created this online Club for you! Visit it daily and keep learning all you can. Keep encouraging each other! Stay on your toes and be alert.
I pray that you will have a higher revelation of the person and the principles of our Lord Jesus Christ! Victory is yours this year!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY In all things, I give thanks, including for the priceless gift of being good a spouse and helper. I will not allow the devil, pride, pressures of life, and ignorance direct, and lead me astray.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, give me your wisdom to be a good partner to my future spouse
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Do you see what we’ve got? An unshakable kingdom! And do you see how thankful we must be? Not only thankful, but brimming with worship, deeply reverent before God. For God is not an indifferent bystander. –Hebrews 12:28 (MSG)
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Make up your mind to stand strong in God
Like Adam, have you been in that place where no help-meet has been found? Have you searched and prayed and fasted and yet nothing is forthcoming?
You see, you have to cease from your own strength! Your intellectual prowess cannot get a prudent wife from the Lord. Your nice manners and Queens English are irrelevant. The parameter of your cognitive abilities is not the issue here.
Adam successfully named every creature on earth, a display of uncommon spiritual and mental energy and prowess, and yet was frustrated at the end because he could not find a spouse!
Are you in that place like you are a graduate, but no helpmeet? You are rich and comfortable, but no helpmeet? You attend functions and join the church workforce and do a lot but no helpmeet? That was where Adam found himself.
What was God’s solution to the imbroglio?
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept…
Guys and ladies, you’ve got to “sleep” and allow God to lead you! Some of you have simply refused to sleep! The scripture said “and he slept,” so it was a choice. He could have said, “I am not sleeping, and just start jumping or jogging.
After you have done all you know to do, why not just sleep and abandon yourself in God’s arms and plans for your life? You have been too much awake and yet no result!
Just sleep and trust God to do it. When you sleep, you don’t wake up every two minutes to check your security. You just sleep. Go into a deep sleep and stop sampling ladies all over the place every Sunday! You don’t even listen to messages again in church!
By the time Adam woke up, God brought her to Adam! Ladies, don’t bring yourself, allow God to bring you! When God brings you or showcases you, it comes with a revelation or conviction to your husband-to-be. Don’t be suggestive. Don’t sound too available. Don’t take the lead. The man is the aggressor and the lady is the responder!
When you “sleep,” God will show you your spouse. He will bring her to you! You will see her and know! That was why, without God saying a word, Adam went into a frenzy of romantic prophecy and began to speak in tongues!
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Who told him? I wonder! But he had gone through the process of “sleeping” and allowed God to do it, so He woke up with conviction and with no doubt about who his wife was. He didn’t have to go to a mountain in Eden to pray again, He just knew because he had slept!
The next time you want to take things into your hands and step outside His will, remember to step back and got to “sleep!”
I pray for you this morning that this year, God will establish all that concerns your relationship/marriage and dissolve every puzzle in Jesus name!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY By the Spirit of God, I am making wise decisions. I make the most of opportunities in my relationships.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Lord, I ask for an anointing of wisdom. Teach me to do the best and at the right time.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Lam 3:27 KJV It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Discern which season you are now and ask God for wisdom to maximize it.
God is interested in your relationship and marriage. God will always lead you even though He allows you to do the choosing. He will not force anyone on you. But if you ask for His direction, He will lead you and often reveal to you His best choice for you.
It is only God that sees you in some thirty years’ time, sees your intended spouse in some years to come, and knows what you will be doing before then, by then and after then, hence he knows the best person fit for you!
House and riches are the inheritance from fathers, but a wise, understanding, and prudent wife is from the Lord. – Pro 19:14 AMP
I love the above scripture. You see, there is a plan of God for you concerning your marital life and it is important you follow that plan!
To understand this, we will go back to the very first story of marriage in the scripture. From there, we can always see the pattern that God has established. God’s methods may change, but His underlying principles remain unchanged!
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. – Gen 2:18-23 KJV
In verse eighteen, God rightly said the man needed a helper. So he created Eve for Adam. God created an Eve, not a Steve! God’s order is clear from the beginning! Man and another man is not God’s order. Two women in marriage is an aberration, it is not God’s order! That is just by the way.
After God created Adam and established he needed help, God created all animals and brought them to Adam to see what He would call them. Thank God, Adam named them appropriately and didn’t call a baboon a wife in the process. If Adam had looked at a monkey and said this is the bone of my bone….that would have spelt some trouble!
This could actually have happened because verse 20 says,
…but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
You must learn to name people appropriately and not go out with everybody or jump in bed with everyone and anyone! This is my boss. This is my colleague. This is just a friend! This is just an acquaintance. This is an unbeliever.
Like Adam, you must name people rightly! Not everybody is your helper! Some are nice but they are destiny killers! There are handsome destiny destroyers and beautiful dream abortionists. You must name people appropriately and you must not allow desperation to push you out of God’s will!
To be continued…
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY By the Spirit of God, I am making wise decisions concerning my spouse.
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Discern which season you are now and ask God for wisdom to maximize it and choose your spouse.
What do we do with all the things we have been learning, reading, and listening to? How do we become productive with all we have learnt? The Scripture rightly says that a man of knowledge increases strength. But again, the same scripture says that knowledge puffeth up! Where is the balance?
What do we do with knowledge so that it becomes strength?
1. Be a doer, not just a hearer
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. (James 1:22 KJV)
When we hear only without doing, the Bible says we are deceiving our own selves. Now, sincerely, that is not a good place to be. The greatest level of deception is when you deceive yourself!
If you heard in church that sleeping around is not good for you, don’t just hear that, be a doer by disconnecting from all sexual partners. That is when knowledge becomes wisdom, and that is when your strength is increased.
If you read in a book that life is about working principles, not just floating around, sit down and apply that to your life! It is one thing to acquire so many books and tapes, it is another thing entirely to sit down, eat those things and do them.
Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like (James 1:23-24 Message)
Can you imagine that? Hearers who are not doers have identity issues. They don’t know themselves and they don’t know who they are in God!
2. Do not allow what you have learnt to slip
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. (Hebrews 2:1 KJV)
You are asked to give more earnest heed. It means to keep a firm grip on what you have heard. Why? Because knowledge is slippery in nature! You can hear something in the service in the morning, and by afternoon if you are not careful, you have allowed it to slip carelessly.
So what do you do with what you hear? You keep a firm grip of that knowledge in your heart! How do you do that? If the heart has hands, it would just have been explicit on how to do that. The hands of your heart are stretched out in meditation. You place a firm grip on what you have heard when you meditate on that thing. That way, it becomes difficult to slip away.
Another thing you can do to keep a firm grip on what you have heard is to pray in the Spirit over that thing. It will take you to a higher level of understanding.
3. Marry the right person for you
God’s word in your life can be rendered unproductive when you align with the wrong person in your life. You cannot marry anybody and everybody. There is the right man for you and the right lady for you. Not every good person is meant for you. A good person might not be the right person for you. There is a difference between Mr. Right Now and Mr. Right!
The scripture talks about wicked men that walk with a froward mouth The scripture talks about evil men whose mouth speak froward things The scripture talks about evil men who leave the path of uprightness The scripture talks about evil men who walk in the way of darkness The scripture talks about evil men who rejoice to do evil The scripture talks about evil men whose ways are crooked
The scripture talks about strange women who flattereth with her words The scripture talks about strange women who forsake guides of their youth The scripture talks about strange women who forgetteth the covenant of their God The scripture talks about strange women whose house inclineth to death Then the scripture talks about men that lie and cheat, women that deceive and nag, and so on and so forth.
What this means is that you don’t dabble into marriage like you are playing cards. You walk down the aisle deliberately knowing what you are doing with God’s help. You don’t fall in love with anybody because falling in love with the wrong person can snuff out your fire for the things of God. You don’t fall in love with a figure; you fall in love with a person and with God’s direction.
Getting the right person can be simple, sincerely. Just get busy for God and serve Him sincerely from the depths of your heart. Serve Him with your heart and with your substance. I have shared severally from my experience. I never for once had to pray about marriage. God actually interrupted me while I was serving him. I had postponed marriage or relationship till after school but God interrupted me while I was just serving Him and getting busy for Him. The reason I didn’t run after marriage was not that I was spiritual; I was just not interested! But God was interested! Just get busy for God!
Remember Adam had to fall into a deep sleep before Eve could be presented to him? Maybe you need to sleep and put your mind at rest and then see what God wants to do in your life! What if Adam had refused to sleep? He would have disallowed God from doing what He wanted to do. Let God interrupt you rather than you interrupting God!
I pray that God will grant you more understanding in Jesus name!
