Get Restless By Pastor Dunamis (10th October 2021)

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Get Restless was taught by Rev. Dunamis Okunowo on the 10th of October 2021 at Shouts of Grace Center, Joke Plaza, Beside Trans Amusement Park, Bodija-UI Road, Ibadan.

In his teaching, Rev. Dunamis made mention of the following important points:

God’s word cannot go back to Him, and say, “I cannot do this.”

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV)

You do not speak against the source of your blessing.

The things of the spirit cannot be logically explained. Sometimes you don’t understand but you just obey.

The word of God is life.

The blessing is tangible; it can be transferred.

But he said, “Your brother came with deceit and has taken away your blessing.”

Genesis 27:35 (NKJV)

The blessing is different from miracle.

The force that played out in the life of Jacob was mercy.

As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.” What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not! For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.” So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.

Romans 9:13-16 (NKJV)

It is the LORD that shows mercy.

Thank God for the things you can do (your skills, your oratory power, etc.) but ask for mercy!

There’s something about the mercy of God which you must factor into your life.

So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.

Romans 9:16 (NKJV)

We are not saying you should not will or that you should not run, but in your ‘willing’ and ‘running,’ remember mercy.

You will be under the yoke until you grow restless.

By your sword you shall live, And you shall serve your brother; And it shall come to pass, when you become restless, That you shall break his yoke from your neck.”

Genesis 27:40 (NKJV)

No matter what you have done in the past, there’s the mercy of God. The Holy Spirit brings you to the place of realization, not a place of condemnation.

What distinguished Joseph is found in Gen 39:21.

But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

Genesis 39:21 (NKJV)

Mercy has to be shown before favour can be given. You have to see a revelation about mercy for favour to rest on you.

Reasons To Praise God Part 2 By Pastor Dunamis (6th October 2021)

Reasons To Praise God Part 2 By Pastor Dunamis (6th October 2021)

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Reasons To Praise God (Part 2) was taught by Rev. Dunamis Okunowo on the 6th of October 2021 during the Midweek Service at Shouts of Grace Center, Joke Plaza, Beside Trans Amusement Park, Bodija-UI Road, Ibadan.

In his teaching, Rev. Dunamis made mention of the following important points:

You praise God because:

God is great

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised In the city of our God, In His holy mountain.

Psalm 48:1 (NKJV)

Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.

Psalm 147:5 (NKJV)

Any time we praise God, we magnify Him in our eyes/consciousness. And as we do so, the mountains in our lives become like anthills.

In the realm of the spirit, you can only have what you see.
Every time you dwell on the problem/mountain, you diminish God in His ability to save you.

Once you stay in praise, there’s no way you won’t live in victory.

Praise will glorify God

Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.”

Psalm 50:23 (NKJV)

The praising life is a life that is constantly praising God, regardless of the situation.

A praising life brings honour to God.

God commands it

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!

Psalm 150:6 (NKJV)

If you are a God-praiser, you can’t be a loser in this life.

Praising God is a decision, not something that depends on how you feel.

Being a believer doesn’t mean you will have it easy, but you will always have the victory.

A God-praiser never gets lost in the darkness. In your praise is where the victory lies.
The Word will work any time you are in praise.

Praise is never wasted; it waits

Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion; And to You the vow shall be performed.

Psalm 65:1 (NKJV)

Reasons To Praise God By Pastor Dunamis (3rd October 2021)

Reasons To Praise God By Pastor Dunamis (3rd October 2021)

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Reasons To Praise God was taught by Rev. Dunamis Okunowo on the 3rd of October 2021 during the 2nd Service at Shouts of Grace Center, Joke Plaza, Beside Trans Amusement Park, Bodija-UI Road, Ibadan.

In his teaching, Rev. Dunamis made mention of the following important points:

1. You praise God because of who He is

Great [is] the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, [in] the mountain of his holiness.

Psalm 48:1 (KJV)

2. Praise glorifies God

Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.”

Psalm 50:23 (NKJV)

You must learn to render unto God the sacrifice of praise. Sometimes praise has to be your sacrifice; you are in that mess, but you still choose to praise. You still choose to dance. This was exactly the attitude of Paul and Silas when they were cast into the prison. This is one of the numerous reasons to praise God.

So Paul and Silas prayed and sang, and then there was an earthquake! They was a ‘suddenly’ and they were delivered.

But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

Acts 16:25-26 (NKJV)

Everytime the devil wants to mess you up, he gets you quiet (depressed, no energy to praise God, etc)

You have to make up your mind that no one will steal your joy.

You have to learn to be a God-praiser.

3. You go up with a shout

God has gone up with a shout, The LORD with the sound of a trumpet.

Psalm 47:5 (NKJV)

You don’t go up with depression; you go up with shouts of joy. This is one of the numerous reasons to praise God.

There’s a shout for sadness, but your shout should always be the shout for joy.

Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”

Psalm 35:27 (NKJV)

There’s a connection between your shout for joy and your bank account.

The above are some reasons to praise God.

The Sin Of Gossip By Pastor Dunamis (3rd October 2021)

The Sin Of Gossip By Pastor Dunamis (3rd October 2021)

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Sin Of Gossip was taught by Rev. Dunamis Okunowo on the 3rd of October 2021 during the 1st Service at Shouts of Grace Center, Joke Plaza, Beside Trans Amusement Park, Bodija-UI Road, Ibadan.

In his teaching, Rev. Dunamis made mention of the following important points:

Gossip describes a person who habitually reveals personal or sensational facts, rumors, or reports of an intimate nature that are none of his business.

Gossip is listed as a sin, and the Bible warns against it.

And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

1Th 4:11 (KJV)

Where Does Gossip From?

  1. It comes straight from hell

A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that. By our speech we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it, smoke right from the pit of hell.

Jas 3:6 (MSG)

2. From the evil of our hearts

People are known in this same way. Out of the virtue stored in their hearts, good and upright people will produce good fruit. But out of the evil hidden in their hearts, evil ones will produce what is evil. For the overflow of what has been stored in your heart will be seen by your fruit and will be heard in your words.

Luk 6:45 (TPT)

3. From Idleness

And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

1Ti 5:13 (KJV)

4. A result of hatred and envy

[Destructive and deceitful lies are told about me, [3] and hateful things are said for no reason.

Psa 109:2-3 (CEV)

Why Gossip Is Dangerous

  1. It is a wound

The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

Pro 18:8 (KJV)

2. You will be judged.

Your very words will be used as evidence against you, and your words will declare you either innocent or guilty.ā€

Mat 12:37 (TPT)

3. It is destructive and can cause its victim to be suicidal

but the tongue is not able to be tamed. Itā€™s a fickle, unrestrained evil that spews out words full of toxic poison!

Jas 3:8 (TPT)

4. Gossip is the language of those who have rejected Christ (Rom 1:28-30; TPT)

5. Gossip destroys precious relationships and scatters churches

Troublemakers start fights; gossips break up friendships.

Pro 16:28 (MSG)

How To Deal With A Gossip

  1. Walk away

Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.

Pro 26:20 (KJV)

2. Shut them down nicely

Gossips can’t keep secrets, so never confide in blabbermouths.

Pro 20:19 (MSG)

3. Make a Decision

4. Overlook an Offence

He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.

Pro 17:9 (KJV)

5. Confront Gossipers

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Eph 4:15 (KJV)

Waiting On God By Pastor Dunamis (29th September 2021)

Waiting On God By Pastor Dunamis (29th September 2021)

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Waiting On God was taught by Rev. Dunamis Okunowo on the 29th of September 2021 at Shouts of Grace Center, Joke Plaza, Beside Trans Amusement Park, Bodija-UI Road, Ibadan.

In his teaching, Rev. Dunamis made mention of the following important points:

One of the things you must seek to have during your time of waiting on God is the voice of God. As you wait upon the LORD, you must seek to receive His Word/instruction; for that becomes your compass for the next phase of your life.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

John 16:13 (KJV)

From this Scripture we see three (3) things:

  1. The guidance of the Holy Spirit
  2. The voice of the Holy Spirit
  3. The revelation of things to come

On Guidance

There are two purposes of the Holy Spirit when it comes to guidance:

  1. To reveal to you the things in the Bible (the general guidance)
  2. To reveal to you the things outside the Word of God (the specific guidance)

One of the places you don’t want to get to in life is the place where you can’t hear the voice of the Holy Spirit

The Specific Guidance of the Holy Spirit can come in four ways:

  1. Through the revelation of the Holy Spirit (in your heart)
  2. Through dreams
  3. Through visions
  4. Through angels

There are three ways the Holy Spirit can speak to you:

  1. Inward Peace
You don’t hear anything on the outside, but you just know this is what you have to do
  2. Inward Witness
There is a stronger witness, than inward peace, that this is what you are meant to do.
  3. Inward Voice
You hear an actual voice on your inside.

The design of God to keep you out of trouble is the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

When you learn to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, it will help you in giving.

Any time you don’t hear the Holy Spirit, you put yourself in a place where the devil can negotiate your harvest out of your hands.

There are two ways to become sensitive to the Holy Spirit

  1. Fasting
  2. Prayer

Fasting without prayer is hunger strike.
Fasting will put down the outward man while prayer will build up the inner man.

Fasting is not just going without food. It is not just taking something out of your life, but putting something in your life (praise, the Word, etc.)
Waiting On God helps you to be able to hear God. It helps you tune in to the frequency of heaven/God.

Things will remain as they are if you don’t gain spiritual strength. And you gain this strength through fasting and prayer.

Some Seasons You Need To Fast

  1. When fear is reoccurring about the same issue
  2. When your conscience is seared. (A seared conscience cannot hear the Holy Ghost. Continual disobedience will lead to a seared conscience)
  3. When you observe a negative behavioural pattern in your life
  4. When you are about to take a major decision.
Every man must learn to hear God for his family
  5. When you are sensing a great change
  6. When you are sensing a new level
  7. When you are at the point of transition
  8. When your anointing is waning
  9. When you are expecting a revival

Some Results Of Fasting

  1. You will hear God more
  2. You become more sensitive
  3. You will heighten angelic intervention
  4. You get enlargement
  5. You get deliverance
