A Walk In The Spirit Can Walk You Down The Aisle

A Walk In The Spirit Can Walk You Down The Aisle

Reading Time: 3 minutes

You have been configured to live and survive by the help of the Holy Spirit and not by yourself. Each time you try to do it on your own, you will be frustrated.

Joh 14:17 KJV
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

It is by the help of the Holy Spirit that you will overcome the flesh.

Gal 5:16 KJV
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

That is the solution to overcoming the lust of the flesh right there. You have to walk in the Spirit. You want learn to put your body under? You have to walk in the Spirit. You want to be able to resist sexual sins and say No to sexual sins? You have to walk in the Spirit. You want to be able to know God more and understand what He is leading you to do? You have to walk in the Spirit. You are frustrated with having to repeat the sexual sins you just confessed the day before and at the point of giving up? You have to walk in the Spirit. You want to be able to hear God? You have to walk in the Spirit.

The question is “what does it mean to walk in the Spirit?”

The keyword here is “walk” In the original language from which this word is translated, the Greek word is “peripateō”

It means “to tread all around, to live, deport oneself, follow (as a companion or votary): – go, be occupied with, walk (about).”

The implication here is that you should be around the person and the things of the Spirit. When you deport yourself to the Holy Spirit and follow Him as a companion, you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

See it better in Amplified translation:

Gal 5:16 AMP
But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).

You have to be responsive, be controlled and guided by the Holy Spirit!

The next question is probably “why is it so important to walk in the Spirit? Why can’t I just be? It’s right there in the scriptures. Read it slowly and absorb it.

Rom 8:5-8 AMP
(5)  For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit. (6)  Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever]. (7)  [That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God’s Law; indeed it cannot. (8) So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.

You see, if you don’t walk in the Spirit, you cannot please God. And if you don’t please God it means you are not in faith!

Heb 11:6 KJV
But without faith it is impossible to please him…

You see the connection right there. Being in faith, which comes by hearing the word, and walking in the Spirit, which comes by a conscious relationship with the help of the Holy Spirit, are essential for a victorious Christian life. This is how you can position yourself for the fullness of God’s blessings over your life!

This is how to walk down the aisle by walking the spirit. Through walking in the spirit, you will have direction, locate your spouse and settle down in marriage

I pray for you this year that you will indeed experience the fullness of God’s blessings and marital direction in Jesus name.

How Children Can Overcome Fear

How Children Can Overcome Fear

Reading Time: 1 minute

Everyone has fears. It’s part of our human nature. Fear can be good or bad depending on if you allow it to control you. But children can overcome fear. Yes, you can overcome fear. But first, let us look at how fear can play out.

Your words, thoughts, actions can be controlled by fear. Fear can make you say the wrong thing, act the wrong way, and think the wrong thoughts. That is the truth of the matter. Having a fear can make you not even take any action at all. But I say again, you can overcome your fears. Yes, children can overcome fear. It’s one thing to be afraid, but it’s another thing to overcome them.

The Bible tells you to not fear because God is with you. Rather than fear, the Bible tells you to give all your fears to God. To release them to Him because He alone can help you overcome any fear; children can overcome fear.

Someone gave fear the acronym

F- False

E- Expectations

A- Appearing

E- Real.

As time goes on, we will look at each of these words to learn more about fear. But do not forget that children can overcome fear. You can personalize it; say to yourself, “I can overcome my fear. I am not in bondage to fear!” Yes, that there is the spirit! You can overcome your fears, and you surely will. God is bigger than those fears you know.

God bless you. Amen

Prayer:

God, I bring all my fears to you. Help me with them. I know children can overcome fear, so help me to overcome mine. This I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Action point:

List all your fears out and start to pray about them.

Declaration:

I am not afraid.

How To Have Faith For Healing

How To Have Faith For Healing

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Sade stood afar watching how the crowd pushed towards the table stand where some girls stood, sharing fliers for a singing audition. She loved to sing but wasn’t so sure she would make an audition. Her toothbrush was her microphone and her younger brother was no help at all. So it was as though her faith was low. She moved towards the crowd, biting her lips and clenching her fists.

“Here goes nothing”, she told herself as she got closer.

There was a lady in the bible who felt just the way Sade did. A woman with a long-standing health issue stood where Jesus was. She had heard of how Jesus had been healing people and wondered if He would heal her. But she had faith!

The woman thought, “If I can even touch his coat, that will be enough to heal me.” Mark 5:28 ICB

After much deliberation, she found her way through the thick crowd around Jesus and touched the hem of His garment. Instantly she was healed and Jesus knew someone had touched Him. He asked who had, the woman came forward, told Him her condition and He further prayed for her (Mark: 5:29-34). Now that’s faith there!

I’m sure the woman too said, ” Here goes nothing”, as she went ahead to touch Jesus’ garment. Just like Sade did too.

You never know what will happen if you don’t take that much-needed step. Are you still unsure of taking that step forward to accept Christ as your Saviour and Lord? You think He will reject you or that you are not good enough for Him? Jesus Christ will never reject anybody that comes to Him. He loves you more than you could ever imagine. Simply have faith.

So, take a bold step today and touch the hem of His garment, let Him help you. May the help of God always find you, Amen.

Prayer:
Lord, Jesus, like the woman with the issue of blood, I hold on to the hem of your garment. I have faith, and I receive all that I need right now. In Your mighty name, I pray, amen

Action plan:
Reach out to Jesus today and always. Touch His garment daily and as much a stout need to.
