The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) members cried out over the insecurity in the region, lamenting that the region still lives under the Boko Haram threats, making large areas of the region to become bandit land.
The chairman of the Forum, Prof. Ango Abdullahi said this at the press briefing in Zaria last weekend. The forum beseeched President Muhammadu Buhari to show high level of concern and awareness to their situation and help the traumatized citizens living in Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger, Katsina, Benue, Plateau and Taraba.
Saying that the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) is aware and her members dishearten by the cataclysmic collapse of security, sanguinary and the threat faced by lives and properties in many part of the federation especially in the north.
Agriculture, is an advantage to national economic and our pride, the leading contributor to the country’s Gross domestic product and greatest employer of labour is in threat as crops, animal husbandry and roots farming is in the throes of damage and war.

to our basic national demands.
Demanding the President to show compassion and act as a leader as the Nigerian people expect him to. Will citizens of an African and most populous black nation and endowed with generous citizens and material resources be on the run as a result of criminals and bandits. Entangled in poverty, underdevelopment and a causative web of crime, However, arguing that the country possess the capacity to build a better country, which they must ensure it happens.
