What God Wants From All Wives – Part 3

What God Wants From All Wives – Part 3

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We started this topic by looking at how Apostle Peter admonished all wives to be devoted to their husbands. He also encouraged wives to avoid nagging as it doesn’t work.

Verse 5

1Pe 3:5 Holy women of long ago who had set their hopes in God beautified themselves with lives lived in deference to their own husbands’ authority.

This verse gives wives examples of women of old and how they navigated their marriage in a God-pleasing manner. These women first have set their hope in God. That means they made God their priority. The Bible tells us they lived in deference to their own husband’s authority.

Now deference means polite submission and respect, to their own husband. That means you have to respect your own husband and politely respect him in all things.

Verse 6

1Pe 3:6 For example, our “mother,” Sarah, devoted herself to her husband, Abraham, and even called him “master.” And you have become her daughters when you do what is right without fear and intimidation.

This verse sets Sarah as our ‘mother’ and advises us to do the same if truly we want to be her daughters. We have to live our lives devoted to our husbands. That is when we have God’s blessings and He grants us favor and prospers the works of our hands.

We have to take responsibility and take up our cross and follow Jesus. Sarah was devoted to her husband and called him master. We should do the same and we will enjoy our married life and be fulfilled as a wife.

May God grant every wife strength to be the wife He has called us to be.

God bless our marriage.

The Story Of Mrs Sarah And How She Prevailed

The Story Of Mrs Sarah And How She Prevailed

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Yes, I am talking about Sarah Abraham of the Bible. Have you ever wondered what Sarah’s secret was?

We have today Victoria’s Secret, which has to do with the secret in the beauty world. Today, we want to learn the secret behind this woman, Sarah.

She was a typical no-nonsense lady, the prim and proper type of lady that tends to correct and put everyone on their toes. With 380 servants that were born in their house, I’m sure she had a very big house.

Sarah was the CEO, MD of Abraham holdings. She was an ironwoman who knew her onions. She was both feared and respected.

She was not the only good woman in the Bible, so what qualified her to be mentioned among the hall of fame of Hebrew 11?

How many of us knew Sarah as not always being submissive? It was recorded that she resulted to taking things into her hands and decided to help God, and gave Abraham her Servant, Haggai in Gen 16: 1-4.

Abraham was the typical phlegmatic, cool and God fearing husband. He was a lover of peace and so we could conclude that he had left the leadership of running the home to Sarah, who was capable.

It was possible she was bitter against God and some times, her husband. It is possible it was her bitterness that closed her womb for so long, before God changed her name from Sarai (contentious) to Sarah (princess).

It was at this point when there was a divine visitation and her contention confronted (Gen 18:12-13) that she dared to believe God and judge Him faithful. The Bible recorded in Heb 11:11 that Sarah herself received strength to bear a son.

It was also at this junction she became submissive to Abraham and bible says she called him lord.

1Pet3:5-6 (GNB) For the devout women of the past who placed their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful by submitting themselves to their husbands. Sarah was like that; she obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are now her daughters if you do good and are not afraid of anything.

Sarah’s secret was that even though it was not her natural tendency to be submissive, when she knew it was God’s will for her, she repented. She submitted so much, she started calling her husband ‘my lord’.

What a woman! She moved from being contentious to becoming a princess. That became the secret of her beauty and youthfulness. Not her cream, beauty routine or makeup. Her real secret was in her meek and a quiet spirit.

She had to change! She was willing to drop her old self and embrace who God says she is. Her reward; she was blessed beyond measure. She was blessed and protected every where she went because God was with her.

Dear wife, if you want to be like Sarah, you can be like her. She was willing to change and repent. She submitted to her Lord and Abraham her lord. That my dear lady was Sarah’s secret.

God bless our homes.

I love and respect my husband

Tapping Into God’s Faithfulness For Marital Settlement

Tapping Into God’s Faithfulness For Marital Settlement

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The faithfulness of God never ceases to amaze me. It is beyond every explanation. It is beyond the parameters of cognition. It supersedes the highest of the mountains, the loftiest of the buildings, the grandest of the beauty in nature, and the calmness of the night seasons.

It is a thing to know God is faithful, it is another thing to JUDGE God faithful. Ever thought of that?

The scripture elucidates here;

Heb 11:11 (KJV) Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

Our discourse tonight centers around the verse above. I want you to see it as I see it and as God wants you to see it. The reason Sarah received strength to conceive seed and was delivered was because she JUDGED God faithful!

Oh, how that percolates to very bone marrow!

Can you judge God faithful in your relationship? Can you judge God faithful in that broken relationship and abandoned wedding plans?

Everything about Sarah’s conceiving looked like a mirage, but she JUDGED God faithful.

I now love the Passion Translation!

Heb 11:11 (TPT) Sarah’s faith embraced the miracle power to conceive even though she was barren and was past the age of childbearing, for the authority of her faith rested in the One who made the promise, and she TAPPED into his faithfulness.

Whoa!

Can you dare to tap into His faithfulness today concerning the deepest desires of your heart? Can you tap into God’s faithfulness concerning that brother or sister? Can you tap into God’s faithfulness concerning that issue that looks like delay?

Oh sure, if Sarah did allow the authority of her faith to rest in the one who made the promise, then you can too!

I pray that God grant you more understanding to TAP into His faithfulness!

Be blessed today and always!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I judge God faithful.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Go ahead and tap into the faithfulness of God.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Heb 11:11 (KJV) Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
