Still talking about pressure. If you missed it, read it HERE
Matchmaking Comments and Prophecies
Comments from friends, family and those you respect and look up to should not be allowed to constitute pressure in your relationship, especially when they are contrary to your personal convictions.
Your decisions should always be influenced by what God says; follow His directions alone!
People may tease you on how good you and someone could be together; they may say you’d make a perfect couple. Do not be influenced against your personal convictions. Pastoral, parental and friendly match-making should serve only as confirmations.
Do not yield to prophetic manipulations or some prophecies. The Bible says woe unto prophets that say that God said something He didn’t say.
No prophet or man of God has any business choosing a spouse for you. It is your responsibility to do that. God may use them to guide, confirm, instruct and advise, but not to choose or impose anybody on you. That is not the purpose of anointing. The anointing is to break yokes and lift burdens, not to add it into people’s lives!
As singles, you should stop taking names all over the place; you will get more confused at the end of the day.
In the first place, you are not supposed to have more than one name! What you should also know is the at most of these prophets are hungry, so they will always have something to say!
Stop looking for directions and wasting your money all over the place. God’s order in the New Testament is not to start seeking direction but to develop a good relationship with God, His word and His Spirit wherein you can hear God clearly and by yourself.
Men of God are to teach, instruct, correct and confirm!
Some of these things border on manipulation and witchcraft where specific directions are being sought all the time. You almost would have to take permission on when to sleep with your spouse in marriage! That is not in the Bible!
Everyone has a responsibility to learn to hear God. It is the greatest blessing you have in life.
I pray over your relationship that God will open your ears and hearts to hear Him clearly and explicitly. He will do a new thing and He will make all things new in Jesus name!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I am filled with God’s wisdom.
PRAYERS FOR THE DAY Lord, strengthen me against any pressure in Jesus name.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Eph 5:23 MSG The husband provides leadership to his wife the way Christ does to his church, not by domineering but by cherishing.
Before we delve into learning from Prophet Samuel, I want to wish a Happy New Month to all partners and members of KHC. This month, your dreams shall become a reality.
From the first to the third of March, we will be waiting on God in fasting and prayers. If you are in Ibadan, Nigeria, join us by 6 pm at Shouts of Grace Center, Joke Plaza, beside Trans Amusement park, Bodija-Ui road, Ibadan.
This morning, I want to take us on a journey into the life and times of one of the greatest prophets in the land of Israel; prophet Samuel.
He was so great that the bible records that none of his words fell to the ground. This means that all he ever said came to pass.
But before we delve into Prophet Samuel, let’s take a look at his family history.
There was a certain man of Ramathaim-zophim of the hill country of Ephraim whose name was Elkanah the son of Jeroham, son of Elihu, son of Tohu, son of Zuph, an Ephrathite. 2 He had two wives. The name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other, Peninnah. And Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children. – 1 Sam 1:1-8 [ESV]
It wasn’t
One would naturally feel for Hannah because she had no children.
Are you somewhat in the shoes of Hannah? Are there things you need and you don’t seem to have?
Are there certain areas you want God to intervene in your life?
Could it be your parents? Are they going through issues that seem to defy help?
Join me in this series as we see what Hannah did eventually that led to the birth of Samuel the prophet.
Prayer: Help me to learn what I need to know. Amen
We are still on things that are popular and prevalent but not necessarily of God.
4. We have to seek Prophet’s consent
This is another nonsensical pursuit. It is a waste of time. What you need to know is that there are prophets for profit. They are hungry and they need to eat, so they will always see something. These fake prophets have obfuscated the real and original prophets because people are readily drawn to deception.
Even when you give them three non-existent names, they will still see something! That spirit in them will not be able to identify that those are non-existent names.
In the Old Testament, the people will consult the prophet for direction because the Holy Spirit is only upon these prophets. But in the New Testament, the primary function of the prophet has moved from foretelling to forth-telling.
The Holy Spirit is now upon all believers, and you are supposed to be led by the Spirit of God individually. If your prophet or pastor confirms what is already in your heart, that is okay. I have done that for a lot of people, but pastors or prophets are not to be sought for direction on who to marry!
You are to decide, they can confirm! If a pastor insists you must marry somebody you dislike and you are not in love with, that is nothing more than emotionalism and manipulation!
5. I don’t really love him or her, but I need the citizenship
This is another wrong reason to get married. Getting married to an older person to get some papers? Don’t be that desperate; allow God to do what He wants to do in your life.
What if you are not supposed to be in that place according to God’s direction for your life? You would have sentenced yourself to a life of non-fulfillment and dissatisfaction.
You might end up having some Dollars or Pounds, but you will never have the peace of mind that way, and there is all likelihood that such marriages will not last!
You don’t have God’s support when you venture into such deals.
May God grant more understanding!
I pray for you, you will not miss it. God will surround you with His mercy!
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I will follow God all the way. I choose to do it in God’s way.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY Pray that God will help you stay true till the end
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. Hebrews 13:4 KJV
Little one, you are special! What does it mean to be chosen? The word “chosen” signifies being set apart for a reason. And how are people chosen? People are chosen on account of certain attributes they have. Things like a good character, telling the truth, humility and discipline make people to be chosen.
Let’s look at the verse in Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart for a special work. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5 ICB
This was God speaking to the prophet Jeremiah. The Lord chose Jeremiah by o speak to the children of Israel. These people were very stubborn and disobeyed God many times. God sent Jeremiah to them with warnings to turn from their wayward ways.
Look at the first part of the verse–Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I chose you… God created everyone and before we were even put in our mother’s womb. You were already alive before God put you in her womb.
God has seen everything about you and decided to call you for His own. That’s why He chose you for that.
If God chooses you to do something, it means you are very special to Him. That there is a particular work God has for you.
Look well at this verse and meditate on it. Declare it over and over, personalize the words and believe. There is something special about you and God wants to use the special gift He has given you for the good of His kingdom here on earth.
Before the arrival of Jesus, God spoke to His people through the prophets, so you can start studying the Bible by learning from the prophets.
Heb 1:1 (KJV) God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
The prophets received the offerings that the people brought to the temple as sacrifices to God.
They prepared it in accordance to God’s instructions.
Prophets were also sent to deliver messages to someone or a nation.
Jonah was a prophet sent to Nineveh to warn them about their ways.
Elijah was a great prophet, filled with the power of God. He refused to bow to idols worshipped by king Ahab, Jezebel and the false.
Prophets also prayed for sick people and they got healed.
Back in biblical days, prophets were full of God’s raw power, that’s why what they say will happen, will happen. Their words were held in high esteem. So you will grow by learning from the prophets.
There are also stories of good and bad prophets.
Through studying these great men of God (i.e. learning from the prophets), you will learn how and why God chose them.
As you study today, God will bless you with more revelation. Amen.
Prayer: Thank you Lord for the mighty prophets in the bible.
Action Plan: Choose a prophet today and study about him or her.
Declaration: As I study these prophets, I get insights. I am learning from the prophets.
