John Odigie-Oyegun, the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said that the cause of the conflict between Adams Oshiomhole and Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state is known by no one. Oyegun added that the fight between the two former friends and party giants is shameful and ridiculous,
As reported by the Cable, Oyegun said that: “All of us are dancing round the crisis, but we do not know how and what started the conflict between the two friends. “Quite frankly, what is going on is ridiculous. We are beyond this kind. I am ashamed.
“But for me, I took a point of principle of who the people say is performing. Please, let him continue if the people feel he is doing well.
“I would not allow anybody embarrass me as a governor. We are in a democracy. You have a right to say that you do not like a person, but let the people decide.”
Oyegun further added that, all the resources it needed, good planning are in Nigeria and as such should be ahead of other countries like it used to be.
Stating that the nosedive in the nation’s development could be attributed to military intervention, Oyegun said it is unfortunate that challenges and important issues are being left to prayers by leaders at various level.
