The presidential election petition tribunal on Wednesday, said it was reserving judgment on the petition by Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and his party against Muhammadu Buhari victory in the past election.
The tribunal said the date for the judgement to conclude the true position of the complaint by Atiku and the PDP against Buhari and the All Progressives Congress concerning the 2019 poll will be communicated to the parties involved.
The announcement was made by Justice Moammed Garba as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) while adjourning proceedings after parties adopted their final written addresses and submissions.
It was reported that Buhari and the APC recently requested for the dismissal of the petition filed by Atiku and the PDP at the 2019 election.
The presidential election tribunal has been urged by Buhari and the APC to dismiss the petition filed by the PDP and Atiku challenging the general election on grounds of ‘technicalities and evidential’.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has explained recently that the election would not have been won by Atiku.
INEC said Atiku was not declared winner of the exercise due to the fact that the PDP candidate did not secure majority of lawful votes during the election.
