Governor Abiola Ajimobi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been blamed for losing to the People Democratic Party (PDP) in the concluded Oyo State governorship election by the Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu.
Ajimobi was accused of forcing his party executives on the state and on the people by Shittu, who contested in the APC primary but was disqualified because of his inability to observe the one year mandatory national service carried out by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
During a live radio broadcast the Minister stated that Ajimobi is a betrayal and a dictator, stating that the party executives are been taken to court by him and other like minds in the party. Recalling that the party had two congress; the leaders of the party were forced to accept those who lack qualifications in becoming party executives due to the fact that the unity forum faction has members four times that of the governor’s faction.
The unity forum would make sure that in the area of the Party congress that justice is served, that is why we are in court. For the present executives to emerge, they have to be sincere but Ajimobi would not permit them, doing so as to use them in achieving his goals.
