Three more political parties have petitioned the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 23 presidential elections.
The parties are Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and its presidential candidate Ambrose Owuru, Coalition for Change (C4C) and its presidential candidate Geff Ojinika, and Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) together with Pastor Aminchi Habu, who happens to be the party’s flag bearer.
The Presidential candidate of The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, alongside the party, had on March 18 filed their petition before the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja, bringing the total number of political parties challenging Buhari;s victory to four.
The first petition, marked CA/PEPC/001/2019 was filed by Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and its presidential candidate Ambrose Owuru, on March 7.
The second petition marked CA/PEPC/002/2019 was filled by the PDP and its candidate Atiku.
The third, filed by the Coalition for Change (C4C) and Geff Ojinika, was marked CA/PEPC/003/2019 while the fourth petition, marked CA/PEPC/004/2019, was filed on the 19th of March by (PDM) Habu, its presidential candidate.
It was also gathered that the tribunal had on Wednesday, granted Atiku and the PDP permission to serve their petition to Buhari through the APC.
