The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has once again, postponed the collation of results of the Rivers state governorship election till Wednesday, April 3, 2019.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Obo Effanga, announced this on Tuesday at the collation centre in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
INEC had earlier suspended the announcement of the March 9 governorship election results after which it sent a fact-finding team to the state to determine what led to the suspension of the elections.
At the resumption of collation of the results on Tuesday, results of 15 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state had been announced, 2 LGAs are left, while a rerun will be held next week in six other local governments.
The electoral body will conclude the issuance of all outstanding certificates of return on April 19.
