On his second day in office, the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde proscribed the activities of the state chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers.
This development came after series of alleged breach of security and factional clashes of the union members in some areas of the state capital.
Briefing newsmen in the Governor’s office on Friday, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Bisi Ilaka, said the union’s activities has ceased forthwith.
He further urged the people of Oyo state to go about their lawful businesses.
The state police command had earlier arrested six NURTW members for disturbances at motor parks between Wednesday and Thursday.
